The property was homely, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts and staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The property was conveniently located for our activities and sightseeing.

Great location, large room with huge tv (penthouse), nice staff, nice breakfast, good shower (however no bath as advertised).

Breakfast was good but sometimes a bit unclear what you could order with whom or how long it would take to get it.

We wanted to see how India lives beyond the facades, fences, and colorful doors. This place gives you a unique chance to step into a special world. As a designer by training, I can’t help but notice the details, nuances, coziness, style, and the impeccable taste of the owner. Indians truly live with an incredible sense of aesthetics. The welcome message was thoughtfully crafted, filled with subtle touches that a traveler would truly appreciate—a special thank you for that. The host ensured we had an unforgettable experience, guiding us through how to enjoy each dish properly, how its flavors unfold, and how best to savor it. We are deeply grateful for this experience. India behind the facades is diverse, but here, we discovered a delicate and refined side of it.

When I first saw the house, I was blown away by its grandiosity. The room, too, was equally fabulous; it was big, airy, and had all the amenities. It was presented beautifully, and it had a lovely balcony, too. The place was easy to find, and even before check-in, Mehul shared a lot of information that made it easy. We opted to have dinner at the house and it was very good and healthy. The breakfast spread was huge, we were spoilt for options! Overall, our stay was amazing and I'd definitely stay again if I came back to Calcutta for longer!

I had gone to Kolkata for an interview at the U S Consulate. The Moira was the right place to be in just 900 meters from the Consulate. Walkable distance. Such a relief. I could be there on time early morning. Breakfast was the sumptuous Aloo Paratha, with curds (yoghurt) and a selection of mouthwatering pickles to accompany the Aloo Paratha.

Everything was perfect. Happy to have got a heritage place, tastefully done up. The Hosts, Mehul and Neha were unbelievable, so friendly and very helpful.

The location is good. It’s an old house made into a B&B. This room was made on the terrace therefore we didn’t have to see the owners while going out or coming in, as this room was separate. Well made and Uber facility was easily available. The person handling this property and his mother are amazing people.

Nothing as such. Just some work was going on at the terrace when we stayed there, therefore didn’t have complete terrace for ourselves as workers were there, so we had to be in room itself when at the property. The house is adjacent to a school so accordingly the noise will be there.

The Moira offers a beautiful home-stay near the vibey Park Street and was the perfect end to a fantastic 4 week trip around India. We stayed in the magnificent penthouse suite, something really worth considering if you’re wanting that extra touch of luxury. Breakfast is taken with other guests at a big dining room table so it was lovely to hear about their experience and to compare notes. We generally never left the homestay before noon each day! Mehul was lovely and gave us lots of wonderful restaurants to try. We took up each suggestion and they were excellent! He also allowed us to keep our bags there on the last day as our flight was only in the evening. Great hist, great homestay! Definitely recommend to all.

Could have used a larger hot water tank.

Wonderfully hospitable hosts, flexible on check in and check out, happy for us to leave our bags for a couple of days, helped out with washing, and provided recommendations for sights eating out. Breakfast was delicious, rooms were very conformtable, spcaious, and well-equipped, and it was a great location within walking distance of several sights and the centre of town.

Great location, central but not too chaotic. Abundant breakfast, always varied with a choice of local and continental food. Kind and helpful staff to satisfy any requests. The room was very large, as was the bathroom and shower. I appreciated the cleanliness of the room, sheets and towels.

The air conditioning blew air directly onto the bed, even with the flaps set to the highest position.

The place and rooms were gorgeous. The hosts were very hospitable and warm. The only place during our 3 week travels that felt like home in every which way. The rooms are very clean with high end amenities! Literally 2 mins walk from ISKCON KOlkatta! The only place we would stay if we ever came back to Kolkata! Thank you Mehul for Hosting us.
