We were allocated a Queen room overlooking the car park. As we were staying for 18 nights we decided to upgrade to King room at the back of the hotel, which was quieter and gave more privacy. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and we slept well every night. The staff were great and helped with every possible issue. We had read in one of the reviews that there was insufficient car parking but we always found plenty of spaces.

The breakfast could have benefitted from more healthy food options. Fruit was available most days but not always and we ended up buying our own bananas, although on most days they were provided.

I liked the friendliness of the staff and the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Also, the location is ideal being near the beach and all of the attractions which are part of coastal north county San Diego.

Our bed was just a bit hard, lacking a bit of cushion.

Great location. Chill vibe. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Good WiFi.

Grounds are a bit dirty. Could use a paint job. Continental breakfast is ok, but a protein option would be nice.

This boutique hotel was in a perfect location, right on PCH. There were some cosmetic touch-ups that could be done, but overall, my stay was comfortable. The showers were updated and I always appreciate updated bathrooms :) The staff was friendly (check-in and check-out) and allowed me to have a late check-out. The blackout curtains were super helpful. There are two double curtains that really block out the noise and sunlight super well. I appreciate when a hotel thinks about their customers' needs in advance :) The hotel is near the Amtrak train tracks but I didn't hear anything all night. The ice machine was nice as well.

Just a few cosmetic touch-ups needed.

The property was within walking distance of Stone Step Beach. And a 4-minute walk to a great coffee house. The bed and bathroom areas were clean and functional. An overhead light could be added above sleeping area. For security the additional exit to the lobby was card entry only. Staff was always at the desk.

Some interior and exterior features, such as the air conditioner units, sidewalks, stairs and carpet were worn looking. Loose security one night, as the additional exit door was propped open all night.

Staff was so nice! Every single person was helpful and always seemed to be in a good mood. The location of the hotel was perfect. We could walk to the beach and to town.

When I first walked in, the hotel didn’t look familiar. I thought the pictures on hotel.com didn’t match. But I realized I was judging because I had super high expectations. I was so wrong. It is a hotel tucked next to an Encinitas neighborhood. It really blended in and I felt at home.

The coffee was great, the breakfast was pretty basic, just toast, cereals, some small danishes or micro muffins, jam, butter, milk , tea coffee and orange juice. As fruit there were only some sad tiny apples. The bed was comfy, the room was clean, very good water pressure, excellent Wi-Fi. 30 in fridge without freezer. Microwave and coffee machine. Great location few minutes walk to the steps that lead to the beach. They are steep! Few minutes from restaurants or Pannikin cafe.

They could improve the breakfast by adding some yogurt, decent fruit, maybe some cheese and ham. The room needs more space for hanging clothes, a chair for the table. The shower has been poorly designed, as the handicapped handle inside the shower has been placed right behind the glass door obstructing it so much, that the door opens only halfway.

The shower was excellent. The front desk and housekeeping staff were warm and friendly. Bed was comfortable and the television was large. Air-conditioning and fan performed well.

Parking spaces were a bit too small. No quarters were available for laundry facilities. Breakfast could of used more variety of fresh fruits and breads. Yogurt and sugar-free cereals would have been nice options. Coffee should be upgraded.

This motel is in an excellent location. On the beach side of the pacific coast highway. We could easily walk to cafes, shops and the beaches. The staff were very friendly. A small breakfast was available each morning which was a bonus. It was also nice to have a room with a table and chairs to eat around. The swimming pool was a nice extra too. The kids enjoyed using it at the end of the day.

There was no freezer in our fridge which is disappointing as we like to be able to keep our ice packs cold for our cool box. It was also not easy to dry wet swim suits and towels from the beach as the room had no where to hang things from. As a morning tea drinker it was annoying that there was nowhere to access boiling water. The only hot drink available at breakfast was coffee. Storage space was limited. I wouldn't stay here for more than a few nights as it doesn't offer the facilities to make it comfortable for longer than that.
