This a wonderful Hotel; a real gem! I was mesmerized by the special and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully decorated and meticulously clean. The beds are extremely comfortable - one of the best beds I have had in a Hotel. The staff is exceptional - accommodating, helpful, professional and so friendly! The breakfast is small but good - a tasty fresh juice, coffee and muffins. There is a sundeck at the top of the Hotel with a fantastic view; a great place to hang out and enjoy the sunset. The location is perfect - it is just some steps away from a nice beach and from good seafood restaurants. The Hotel offers towels, beach-chairs and umbrellas for free - an excellent service so that we could enjoy two days at the beach. I highly recommend staying at the Cardiff by the Sea Lodge!

There was just one minor issue: the fridge was pretty loud and kicked-off every other minute during night. I told this the staff the next morning and the problem was quickly resolved. Other than this, everything was perfect!

Very nicely appointed room; Classy, unique decor, great shower, comfy bed, view of the ocean (Room 202). Friendly and professional staff. Prompt and thorough housekeeping service. Very comfortable. Well situated to local beach communities.

Unfortunately, back alley has frequent homeless loitering, including an angry, drug-addled man who was talking loudly and aggressively to the wind. This was intimidating because you have to walk past this homeless hangout TO GET TO YOUR CAR IN THE UNDER PROPERTY PRIVATE LOT! I would not let my wife or child go to the car alone because of this. The manager was sympathetic and frustrated, as local law enforcement doesn't respond appropriately to remedy this issue. Occasionally loud bar next door also wasn't a plus.

The room was lovely. The bed was super comfortable… Enough to call the manager to see what brand it is. Everything was clean and felt like new. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed. The rooftop was an amazing touch and nicely decorated with plenty of tables and hanging basket chairs. We brought in drinks then sat and enjoyed the sunset over an expansive view of the Ocean. we loved that it was a quick and easy walk to the beach, and the location is sweet and low-key. The nicest surprise was the delicious fresh ginger and fresh carrot juice served at breakfast, and yummy muffins… The coffee was really good too.

We had an incredible stay at this hotel for two nights. Our room was beautiful, with a very comfy bed, and absolutely quiet despite not having an ocean view. We noticed that rooms facing the ocean might experience some noise from a nearby bar, but our room was perfectly serene.

Be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs since there's no elevator, and parking can be tricky to find initially. However, the front desk is very helpful with instructions, though keep in mind they operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The location is close to the beach, walking trail, shops and restaurants. Everything walkable. The property is beautiful, love the decor and the rooftop area is a nice plus. Excellent coffee shop across the street, Rose Hill. Also love the fresh muffins and juices that are delivered to your room every morning. The staff is very nice and accommodating.

Next door to a bar which sometimes can be noisy but also enjoy that people are having fun there. Thought the bathroom floor needed a steam clean.

Our corner king suite that we booked 2 hours prior/last room available. Location. The nice quality robes, I always appreciate. Slippers. The older man in front gave the place character ❤️ He grew on me. I liked the coffee shop in front and 1/2 mile distance from the seafood grill restaurant. I would love to go back to that same king suite but not for the price we paid.

The place was like an apartment complex that became a hotel. No usb wall chargers. We travel frequently and have gotten used to only needing cable chargers like our own home. The office hallways lemon water container was near the ice machine but ice wasnt replenished. It was warm. Little touches like that make a difference. The place can run on its own without doing much because of its location and its reflected on whats put out by the company. For $600/night hotel should have had ice cold lemon water not warm on a 100 degree day, also add even 4 qtips, toothpaste, and toothbrush for use. They might also benefit with a popup bar on the rooftop. Sry management im being objective on how you can make it better

Staffs are very friendly. Clean and stylish rooms. Loved rooftop lounge.

There is no coffee maker or hot water heater in the room. Every time you need to drink tea or coffee, you have to go down to the main office. It is hard to do in the middle of night. Because of this, I will not return to this hotel.

Location was perfection! Beach within spitting distance - Sunrise and Sunset off the chain! Friendly staff, high quality coffee in the lobby. So fun to borrow albums and play them on the turntable in my room. Can’t wait to come back to this newly and expertly renovated lodge in Cardiff - one block walk to the finest specialty grocery store ever! Filtered water refill station so need for wasteful one time use plastic bottles.

Room decor has been beautifully updated recently in a fun boho style. The rooftop is extra large with great seating. It's a perfect place to catch the sunset and have the muffins and juice they provide in the morning. They also welcome you with complementary prosecco or bottle water upon arrival.

You can hear people walking on the floor above you. But, it was not terrible. No electric charging is available. But again, it's not a big deal.

The rooftop was stunning!! I made myself a coffee from the lobby and enjoyed the sunset. Staff was so kind and your stay comes with fresh pressed juices and muffins for breakfast!! So nice. Would definitely stay here again when we come visit SD.

I do think room 107 was a little darker once the sunset and could use a lamp or light near the large wall mirror
