Location on riverside - ('Paddy's Flat' - a bit cheaper than other units in same property; a bit more cramped- but (best) absolute river frontage - 10m from yr sliding door!!!!) Beyond the beauty of the river, the landscaped property is a credit to the owners. (We actually stayed three nights, but booking.com app has some glitches.) The hosts at The Shingles are wonderful - welcoming, busy and unintruding! Good luck to them (Veronica and John), both!

Leaving (a delightful place) The property entranceway is a bit tricky - suggest you tackle it only from the New Norfolk town direction. Watersaving showerhead prob not up to a thorough (long hair) rinse. Sun shone only most of the time - (will raise with the independent Senator!)

There were lots fo fly screens. The garden is lovely and there is an outdoor setting on the water. The view is gorgous. The apartment was well decorated. There was a TV with an HDMI cable and lots of videos.

Breakfast is no longer provided on the first morning. This needs to be removed for the website. Spa does nto work. Bathroom door is sticky and tends to bang when it is left open. The temperature button on the oven was loose so you just had to guess oven temperature. The wifi was very weak and did not really work. We had an EV and the chrger at Mood Food was broken. We back tracked to Brighton.

Lovely location right in the river. The well kept gardens, trees, and the water views make this a great spot.

Street lighting in this part of New Norfolk is rather sparse. A light at the entrance to the property would have been helpful in finding our way there on a dark night; likewise, some lighting in the carpark area would have been welcome! We were very glad of our torches.

Beautiful location, great accommodation and facilities! Love the kitchenette and the fridge is fully stocked with extra goodies. The owner Veronica greeted us on arrival and was kind enough to provide extra pillows for my daughter. Her gorgeous photography is also displayed in the accommodation. Paddy's flat is equipped with everything you need & the surrounding property is lovely to take a river stroll in the afternoon or watch the sunrise.

If you require stable internet access, the guest wifi in Paddy's flat isn't the best. Perhaps moving the central router location could resolve this - or it may be a network issue. I used my 4G data & hotspotted during the stay :)

Really nice riverside location. Spotlessly clean and well presented. Our studio apartment had everything you needed coupled with a brilliant riverside view with outside decking to relax on. So comfy bed. The owners let you use their pool in summer. 12 minutes flat walk into New Norfolk to the bush inn for great food, drinks and high level decking area.

There wasn't breakfast, which was all right. We enjoyed the riverside view very much. The staff are very nice and helpful, and the place is cozy and clean.

Some of the condiments are out of date, but they might be left by the guests, not provided by the owners, I guess.

You open the back door of the cottage and are met with a beautiful garden that leads down onto the Derwent River!The property is a home away from home but without the noise and people and only 5 minutes drive into New Norfolk!

Nothing to dislike about the property but relying on the local taxi service can be a bit challenging!

the river formed a perfect mirror at 6am. It reflected the orange clouds so that the river banks seemed to be floating in mid air. The only thing that could add to this would have been a platypus poking its head up, but this unfortunately didn't happen. Absolutely magical!

the driveway

The cottage we stayed in was very nice/clean and offered a very good view of garden and Derwent river. Hosts were very friendly. The location was convenient for visiting a lot of orchards nearby.

The owner was wonderful when we rang in to say we were running late and told us not to worry and to get there safely. The studio was a room with a view and so well set up. Cosy room and big bathroom. Very clean. The brekky selection was a huge bonus! Loved every moment we were there and would definitely recommend it. Thank you Veronica.
