The Rydges Hobart is an older style building but the rooms feel very homey and modern at the same time. I loved the black and white retro bathroom floor tiling. The price is very affordable for what is offered here. Staff here were very approachable and kind! The location was great and about a 10 minute drive from any restaurants or sites that we wanted to visit in Hobart city. There are plenty of parking spaces.
- When we first arrived the only way to the front reception was up a flight of stairs and the only other way in for guests was through the back entrance but you need a key card. My friend and I ended up carrying our 20kg suitcases up. After checking in we were able to use the key card to access the back of the building (with no stairs). - The on-site restaurant menu was quite pricey and the food was only okay for me.

Great location, lovely old heritage building with lots of charm and character! The size of our room was spacious and had good cooking utilities - by means of a kettle, microwave and toaster! Lovely views of Hobart city centre!
Our shower leaked when in use - flooding the bathroom which was annoying, and when we mentioned it to the staff they seemed disinterested and didn’t offer us an apology or change of room. The breakfast was below average - stale bread, and only offered scrambled eggs etc. No yogurt selections, or fried/ boiled/ poached eggs, the bacon was fatty and the mushrooms dry and cold…. limited selection of food - we would recommend eating breakfast in Hobart or finding a nice bakery instead!

We loved our stay at this hotel which has been renovated in this historic building. Our room in the main building was fabulous with loads of windows along both the sitting area and bedroom walls with great views out over Hobart and as far as the Bay in the distance. The room (really a suite) was very comfortable and well appointed and having the fridge, kettle, sitting area was so handy. The staff were wonderful and so patient with my many questions. There are lovely historic touches all over the main hotel building including a lovely fireside bar area. We thoroughly enjoyed out very memorable stay at this lovely place - also found it walkable to waterfront and eating area and CBD in Hobart (but then we are big walkers:)) Thank-you to all the staff for your wonderful care during our visit.
Everything was amazing !!!!

Comfortable beds, spacious clean bathroom with great shower, liked the sitting room and tasteful pictures. Great to have a microwave. Enjoyed the tasty pot pie dinner and liked the sense of history. Parking on site. Friendly staff. Quiet.
An extra bin in the living area, preferably lidded, would be great for food waste/packaging items and body lotion included in the toiletries would be nice. Extra milk and some complimentary biscuits included with tea/coffee supplies on arrival would be appreciated..

We had a comfortable stay for 4 nights. Bed very good, bathroom good. Having the TV in the bedroom however was silly, when there was a sitting room where it should have been.. Could open windows for fresh air. Good restaurants at North Hobart…walkable distance. Staff helpful..
Location was too far from town for us. older people cannot walk into the city and back again uphill…you definitely need a car if staying here. there are buses however….or taxis. Bar area small, no ambience. Didn’t use dining room.

I recently stayed at Rydges Hotel, and it was an amazing experience! The room was not only comfortable but also spacious. The highlight was the fantastic deal we got, which included breakfast – a great way to start the day.
We did notice a few flies in the room, which may indicate that housekeeping could use a little more attention to detail. Additionally, there were no tissues provided in the room, which I feel is an essential item for daily comfort. Addressing these small issues would greatly enhance the overall experience.

We love the location, super convenient to Hobart centre. Free EV charge port and the reception staff was professional and welcoming.
We booked with complementary breakfast, bread was stale and fruit salad was not fresh. The only waiter wasn’t so nice or friendly. We asked for GF bread and never came, didn’t offer there is high chair for our baby. He probably hates his job, won’t even greet to you at all. He did have smiles with his colleagues just not us. Until weekends, the additional waiter/ waitress was very nice and helpful, we didn’t know there is kids high chair and she/he brought in GF bread.

Location was great - walking distance to eg Salamanca markets - friendly staff - generous breakfast at good price - go green incentive re credit on room - great price for room when booking on mobile - spacious room - good heating - incentive for drink on bar sticker - great view from room across oval - important for us to have parking
Personally bed a little soft and grateful I brought my own pillow (always do so ) as those provided were too big - no hand towels provided in bathroom and only 1 face washer

Staff were always accommodating to us. Our room was large, adequately furnished with table/chairs etc and microwave. Bathroom/toilet was spacious and modern. Our only disappointment was bed pillow: both pillows per person were too thick and felt like bricks. Apart from this issue, stay was extremely comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were top quality and more than adequate. More than willing to stay again.
As above, bed pillows were too thick and like bricks. Maybe we should have sought smaller, fluffier ones.

The apartment we had was really spacious with a separate lounge and dining room. The bathroom was large with two sinks and a roomy shower. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was quite good value for an extra $20. It's in a quirky older heritage building as well, which adds a bit of interest. There's a whole street of restaurants and bars just a short walk away.
It was a wee distance from the main part of town. I didn't mind that too much as we were only there for one night on our return to Hobart.
