Didn’t have any

The pool service is only free from 8am-11:30. After 11:30 there is a 60$ fee just to rent a longer chair and you have to spend a minimum of $50 on food. It is a very small pool area so it gets crowded. Lastly, the kids can only swim from the 8am-11:30am time slot. As expensive as it is to stay there the pool service should be free and include children throughout the day.

Stayed 12 nights, was convient location to walk to restaurants and shops. Very close and walking proximity to Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden. Amazing view, we had a corner room on 17th floor with a view to city and empire state building, close also to subway station. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Didn't like the silly way the lift system worked from the lobby. Maybe it's a chic new way but it was annoying to first have to find your floor on the panel then try and swipe underneath each time. The roof top is not for guest use only private functions.. why? Laundry service was ridiculously expensive, $35 U.S for one tshirt 😳 we used the laundry service down the street a bit was much cheaper.

We travelled to NY for my partners 40th and were welcomed with an upgraded room to the 21st floor with gorgeous view of the Empire State Building. We were also greeted with a lovely fruit platter and champagne on arrival with a personalised card which was super cute for the memory album! Staff were fantastic, super helpful and great conversation whenever entering the hotel. Location was excellent and being on broadway, what more could a dancer want 💃🏼 We also had room service and the food was fantastic! We will be back!

Nothing. It was perfect.

A very nice hotel, great room, great view, good restaurant and bar area. Very nice staff.

The fact you have to pay to use the lounger chairs at the pool or give them up to people who paid for them when they came. I stayed at the hotel last year and all the hotel guests were able to use them as long as they wanted. This year they changed that for profit which is sad. I understand saving a certain amount for people who aren't staying there, but for those who are should not be paying for this amenity. One of the main reasons I chose to stay here again was for the pool. There is no mention of this on Booking. Com either.

Great location, surprisingly comfortable beds (despite being very soft), nice modern design. Most of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.

Very expensive breakfast/lunch/dinner. Luckily there are plenty of good options nearby. Special room design with a rather open bathroom area. Ok for couples but not ideal if you’re staying with friends or teens. Pool staff was pushing to ‘reserve’ pool chairs via some app where it costs 130$ per person. Luckily the pool was quiet enough to enjoy it in the morning but I can’t believe they would ask hotel guests to get a day pass if you want to be sure to find a spot in the afternoon. Cleaning staff (at least the ones we met) doesn’t speak English.

Location, style, terrace bar, views(!!!), bed comfiness, service at the bar, lots to love

It sounds nit-picky but the light switches in the rooms are overly complicated and confusing! We couldn’t work them out at all and on the first night had to call reception to send someone up to turn the LED lights in the bedroom window off (which took 45 mins and two calls to reception for someone to come up). What’s wrong with a good old on/off switch?! This was the only negative though!

Stayed in an absolutely stunning room, super spacious, with a beautiful view of the city and the Empire State Building. The staff were all very lovely as well, definitely no complaints on that front. Location is right near Ktown with some of the best food around.

I'd say the only minor downsides were that the elevator system was quite finicky, and during my stay one of the two key readers in the lobby was working on and off. Breakfast was alright, not bad but there are better food options nearby for half the price

Excellent location with clear views of Empire State from the pool and rooftop drinks area. Fabulous room with great view (sky chamber).

On arrival we were charged extra for a destination fee even though booking.com price said all taxes and charges were included. Also sunbeds were 40 dollars to reserve.

Nice hotel, very comfy and clean room with a really nice view. Location is good. Not right in the middle of it all but close enough to walk or catch subway.

Super expensive but nyc is I guess. At the end of our stay we were charged another 35 USD per night for amenities which we didn't know about. That is alot of money on top of the already expensive cost. Should have been made clear when booking that this fee was coming.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Refuge in the Midst of Crisis — Thank You Virgin Hotels NYC I’m writing this review during a serious personal and medical crisis. My “luxury” Manhattan apartment of nearly five years was recently declared a Level 3 biohazard after independent mold testing confirmed long-term toxic contamination. For months if not years, I’ve experienced unexplained symptoms while my landlord delayed and dismissed the issue. After I finally forced a test, the report confirmed dangerous biohazard levels of mold throughout my living space. I had to leave immediately, with no clean belongings and no safe place to go. In that chaos, I checked into Virgin Hotels NYC. I chose the hotel because it was a respected four-star property with amenities and good design. But I quickly realized what I actually needed: a clean, stable, mold-free space to think, rest, and begin detoxing. That’s exactly what I received—and more. I was shaken and exhausted when I arrived. The first room I was given had strong A/C airflow blowing directly on the bed, which made sleep difficult—possibly because of my hypersensitive condition. When I explained my situation, Juliana at the front desk personally escorted me to view another room. It didn’t fully resolve the issue, so she and Gregory upgraded me again, this time to a large, quiet suite with two separate thermostats, excellent airflow, and space to decompress. This suite has become my temporary sanctuary. I’ve only been able to extend my stay one night at a time due to availability, but the team has gone out of their way to accommodate my needs and keep me in the same space. Juliana stayed in contact throughout to assist with room logistics. Gregory also helped secure a discounted rate based on the emergency nature of my situation. They’ve treated me with empathy and respect. At the time of writing, I’m still staying here, day by day, while I figure out next steps. My apartment is uninhabitable. My legal situation is evolving.
