The Black Horse Inn is a delightful English pub with a very friendly, welcoming host, Christopher. Our room was excellent, the bed comfortable, the wifi great, and the bathroom modern with plenty of hot water. Check-in was easy - just let them know at the bar that you've arrived - and they secured our touring bicycles in a locked shed. We ate in the pub that night and their steak was excellent - remember to book, however, because this pub is POPULAR with the locals. We really appreciated the Full English Breakfast the next morning to fuel another day of cycling. We would love to have stayed longer.

We had visited Giggleswick before while on holiday last year and were so impressed with the location and the village pub vibe that we decided to stay at The Black Horse this year while on our travels so we could dine there. The food served at this pub is exceptional and we recommend anyone wanting a quality meal without paying through the nose for it to try The Black Horse, you won't be disappointed. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which was delightful.

An absolute gem - and with only 3 rooms, we were very lucky to get in! Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was comfortable (nice firm mattress; tea/coffee/biscuits, including fresh milk available on request; lovely powerful shower). Breakfast was excellent. Good free parking. Nice cosy bar downstairs with full selection of drinks (including excellent selection of different types of gin). We also had an evening meal there, which was absolutely superb (and good value for money, too). We would definitely love to return here next time we are in Settle. :-)

Really lovely cosy place, wonderful spooky view of the churchyard. Amazing pub food (would recommend booking for dinner). Great breakfast with warm croissants. Friendly staff, family-run vibe. Great guidebook to read in the room, beautiful area with lots of walks. Bed was nice and big and clean, room was well decorated, shower was amazing and bathroom really clean.

If I'd be very meticulous only thing I would say was that the toilet brush was very dirty and it wasn't hidden in one of those long holder things, just in a small pot. (But that's if I had to think of something, and it's negligible really).

This was a superb stay. The room was spacious and had a stupendous view of the perpendicular east window of the church. The food was excellent and vegetarian options were available without having to ask. The staff were great and delightful. I thoroughly recommend this Inn. The late breakfast time was not helpful for a business day, but the staff were very amenable and able to provide an early, but complete, breakfast. Well done everyone at the Black Horse.

There was no chair in the room.

The Black Horse is a lovely traditional pub in a very quaint village. Our room was large with a very nice bathroom. The food served in the pub is excellent and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

A shelf in the bathroom for toothpaste etc and maybe more surface space in the bedroom for all your bits and pieces otherwise I can't fault anything.

Breakfast was very good - you are asked to choose the elements of a full English the night before and the breakfast was nicely cooked. I found the bed comfortable because it was quite firm. It is an old building but, surprisingly, no creaky floorboards. Young staff were super - very helpful and polite. Convenient location - 10 mins walk into Settle town centre.

Not much really - fairly expensive for a room in a pub but I felt well looked after and had everything I needed in a quiet pleasant location. Wasn't too sure how to work the shower and I am not a fan of the twin headed showers as you get soaked straightaway even before it gets warm but pretty good once I worked it out. Quite a tight entrance to the car park at the rear but it looks worse than it is. Got in and out fine.

Seemed like a local community pub which is a rarity nowadays. Had a very welcoming feel from the minute with stepped in till we left. Staff couldn’t do enough for you arrived late after a long day walking didn’t fancy driving around looking for somewhere to eat after asking staff where’s close for food they offered to make us something even though it was half an hour after the kitchen closed. Food was really nice and fresh. Room was nice, clean and had some lovely personal touches. Had breakfast before we left in the morning which was again really nice. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend a stay here or even just for a bite to eat you won’t be disappointed.

Very comfortable rooms with very little noise considering they are above a pub. Food was very good and the host very flexible with my partner's small breakfast appetite. We also eat in the pub one evening and it was excellent quality and nicely presented.

When drinking in the bar a trip to the ladies was pretty chilly (although, granted, it was winter).

Room was comfy, and clean. Breakfast was exceptional, also evening meals were huge but lovely..if you can't eat a lot, order 1 meal for 2 of you, like we did and it was plenty. Got bus to skipton to check it out.

The distance from train station was quite a trek, as hubby struggles with a lot of walking. But we did it .
