This is one of the most exquisitely beautiful accommodation that I have stayed in. Perfectly furnished with expansive ocean views over your own private infinity pool. The bed is very comfortable and the day room also beautifully furnished and comfortable. The infinity pool looking out to the water, the sound of the crashing waves and ultimate privacy. The restaurant served a wonderful breakfast each morning of which you had the option to have delivered to your villa. There was also a lunch and dinner menu. We only opted for dinner on one occasion and it as a 10/10. There is another restaurant walking distance (about 15 minutes) up the hill from Shunyata who serves a small A la carte menu at more local prices, if you are looking for more options. We had a couple of massages which were of better quality than the normal Bali massage. The staff were excellent and very professional. Shunyata organised our driver from the Airport at a very reasonable rate. They advised that they use local reliable drivers and do not take a commission.

Absolutely wonderful retreat villa. We came here for our honeymoon and had an unforgettable stay. The staff are so friendly and very thorough. The property is in a rather remote location in Bali which is perfect for quiet relaxation by the ocean. The food was very delicious (breakfast smoothie bowl, Australian steak, and Nasi Goreng were some of our favourites). The spa services were also incredible (we tried the Balinese massage and Moxa massage which were wonderful).

Since the hotel is in a more remote area, you pretty much need to book a private driver to go explore the island / eat at other restaurants, and go to the beach. However the villas are so incredible you don’t even need to leave if you’re looking to just relax.

The Villa was beautiful and the view stunning. Our 14m pool was great but I loved going to the resorts 34m pool - had it to ourselves every day. Our meals were all brought to the Villa - it is a peaceful & relaxing place.

We stayed 6 days & found the menu limited & expensive for Bali. The meals were ok but average for the price. For a shorter stay it would be fine. Breakfast was included & it was lovely. There is no where else to go for meals. We were happy we took some of our own snacks. The massages are 4 x the price in Seminyak - we still enjoyed the experience it was relaxing. They offer deep tissue massage but it is Balinese - still nice but be aware you may not receive the massage you are expecting.

The resort is beautiful. The view on the sea is amazing, it gives a real sense of freedom. It is located in a very remote place so it be difficult for drivers to find the place and the road are very narrow and bumpy so it’s an adventure to get there. But for those searching for rest and peace, the remoteness of the place is not a problem. They have a dedicated flexible driver to get you to other places at an affordable price if you want to visit the island which is very convenient. The villa gives you privacy while common spaces let you get out to breathe some air in a luxurious environment. I also like the fact that we can choose to eat at the villa or at the restaurant. Finally, the staff is very accommodating. I sometimes have special requests and they were able to fulfill them all. Thank you!

Unfortunately the food was not to my taste. The bread was very dry. However I appreciate the fact that they are using fresh ingredients and homemade, healthy products. If the taste of food is bound to the fact it is made with health-consciousness, then I am fine with that !

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Bali. From the moment I arrived, the staff and Visha made me feel welcome with their warm hospitality and attentiveness. They went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, always with a smile. The service was truly top-notch — they were quick to assist with anything I needed, from arranging great kitchen! to providing local recommendations. The atmosphere of the hotel was perfect for relaxation. I even didn’t see people around, so well organized everything! The design was cozy and inviting, with a blend of modern amenities and traditional Balinese touches that created a serene and peaceful vibe. I loved spending time by the pool, surrounded by lush greenery, and my Ocean villa was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. SPA was TOP, ladies were massaging with so much of love to the body. Kitchen is so fresh, tasty and organic 😍 Lovely! Rina was making my stay much nicer with her special treatment and smile. This hotel is a true gem, offering an unforgettable experience. This place was paradise and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and individualised. The rooms were just stunning. Ocean view 2, where we stayed, had an infinity pool overlooking the vast ocean so private you felt as though you were the only people. I chose to propose to my partner here and the staff were so excited to be involved and helped co-ordinate an elaborate, secret and stunning proposal, complete with a candle light setting, rose petals and a truely magnificent outlook. The staff were unparalleled in their attention to detail, even setting up the appropriate cutlery for your meal you had ordered the day prior. The included breakfast was amazing - a three course breakfast that nourished the body, soul and tastebuds. The setting was a beautiful as the food. Looking out on the beautiful Bali ocean, it was picturesque. We were able to organise high quality massages on site and the staff helped organise day trips to nearby attractions. I could not fault our time in Shunyata, the best place we have ever stayed and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and magical time away.

Where do we start! This was our first trip to Bali so we had no idea where the location of this hotel was all we knew it was a decent drive from Seminyak. WOW this was the most stunning location, hotel staff made us a feel like royalty. The food was amazing, our villa was superb. This is the place to go to unwind and relax! Although you need to drive to get to any entertainment there really isn't any need to go anywhere, the restaurant has a new menu on offer each day along with an extensive set menu, many dining options (in room, restaurant, pool side) we didn't even want to eat anywhere else. The hotel offers local drivers at competitive prices. We did a half day tour and spent the rest of the time soaking up the atmosphere and hotel grounds. We didn't want to leave! A really special place that is family owned, you can tell by the caring nature and friendliness of the hotel how much the area means to the family.

The Shunyata Villas completely met our very high expectation what we had, as this was the place to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. The location of the villas is perfect place to find the Bali, we had fallen in love with, 29 years ago, away from the nowadays bustling tourist spots like Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud, Kintamani etc. This is the place to find rest and relaxation to re-energize yourself. From the beginning to the end the staff did everything to let us feel comfortable and at home. The Sea Villa, in which we stayed, is spacious, comfortable, and well-designed. The villa was very clean, as the whole place shines white and bright. The private pool was of course the highlight of our stay (big with very fresh and clean water). We had all of our meals at the dining table in the villa, so we did not have to go out and could enjoy the place to the fullest. The food was good, freshly made, and served with a smile from the lovely restaurant staff. This was our 4th vacation in Bali and the Shunyata Villas is definitely the place to return, if we would go to visit Bali again. Just as we mentioned: Experience the real Bali - go to the Shunyata Villas - Sun and comfort in a luxury surrounding, presented with a smile.

We should have stayed longer than 3 nights.

We had a Ocean View villas with private pool. Amazing villa with the private pool and view on the ocean. Yes, you can see the ocean from your pool. Spacious bed. There is a bath and shower under the sky on this villa with hammock and shower and toilet under the roof but still outside. Please, be prepared if you are afraid of insects as they can brother you a bit while you are in the bath/toilet part of the villa. Breakfast/lunch and dinner can be in the restaurant or they will bring it (without extra charge) on your villa. Also, there is one floating breakfast option for free on your villa. Very long inciting pool (for all guests) - around 25m which is very good for swimming. There are in total around 7 villas and no kids. Very private, very calm. We have seen other guests several times and no one is bothering you. The hotel provides options for the tours with their private driver (600k-850k idr per day). The driver knows a lot and will explain a lot of interesting points, will show you some local things. Staff is great, very polite, understandable and even gave us mosquitoes spray during our stay (yes, they are many mosquitoes).

The hotel is quite far from everything including restaurants. Be prepared that the most of the time you will eat only in the hotel restaurant which does not have a big menu, but it was good especially breakfast. The beach is not for swimming (if you expect it)-there are very big stones and dangerous to go into the water. The massage was not a great, but okeish.

This was our favourite 3 nights of our whole 6 week honeymoon. Shunyata is perfect. They’ve built one of the most relaxing environments I’ve ever visited. The private pool was a joy, the staff so warm, welcoming and friendly. They brought out breakfast to the room every morning and it was always fantastic, everything freshly made and delicious. Their chef is amazing and every lunch and dinner was amazing. Had the steak twice because it was so excellent. Dreamiest place you could ever spend a honeymoon. Will definitely be back.

I’m annoyed that I didn’t book a whole week here :)
