The decoration of all the building, how each individual room is inspired on different people. All the employees are super kind, there are many pools, a gym and a spa. The view as well is incredible and food delicious.

The only thing would be that it’s uphill and walking upstairs is a little hard especially with the humidity.

Spectacular views and a beautiful room. This was one of the best places we've stayed.

The location requires a taxi or Uber to go to town or the beach. The hotel is built on a hillside and has lots of steps internally. It's in a residential area with no other stores/restaurants.

The bedrooms and public areas are stylish and comfortable. There is a beautiful view of the Pacific from the decks, each of which has a small swimming pool. The food in the restaurant, open till 9 pm, is very good.

Although on a map the hotel does not seem far from the so-called romantic zone, it is in the hills above the old town. Most people would find the walk up the road to the hotel rather arduous. An Uber from central PV to the hotel costs about US$6. There are no services, even a small shop, close to the hotel.

- staff are absolutely incredible - especially the younger girl at reception and freddy at the bar/restaurant - we had a beautiful room with a stunning view of the sea - super quiet hotel, perfect for adults or couples - breakfast was included, it's pretty decent

- gym is terrible, wouldn't evem class it as a gym - there is a 'spa' but its not staffed - location is okay but it's built on a big hill, walking up and down can be a nightmare especially with the humidity. We would take an uber back up each time and it costs about £2

January 2023

It was our first time in Puerto Vallarta, and we absolutely love love loved this hotel. My husband and I agree this was our favorite we've ever stayed at, out of dozens. Even though we immensely enjoyed walking through the bustling streets of Malecon and the Zona Romantica, we wanted a hotel experience away from manicured beaches, and far from barking dogs, screaming children, and overly drunk adults. As we drove higher and higher up the beautiful cobblestone streets the first time to our hotel, we grew more and more pleased with our choice! It was stunning at these higher elevations, and our view was absolutely incredible. We sprung for an ocean view room and didn't regret it. Everything was so clean and charmingly decorated and exuded an air of relaxation. We ate in the Loteria restaurant downstairs almost every morning, and had dinner a couple of evenings. Everything we ate was delicious. Service was always friendly -- but like many places in Mexico, not always fast. However, with soothing jazz to accompany our breakfast we were never annoyed. Instead we simply found ourselves encouraged to slow down, and enjoy our amazing surroundings, instead of needing to rush. A bit more livelihood was a twenty minute walk down the hill -- with so many pedestrians we felt safe enough getting to Zona Romantica and Malecon. We often ubered back, avoiding the walk back up the hills. Conchas chinas was the closest beach, which was clean, pretty, and devoid of sales people. Great opportunities in January for striking pictures against the rocks in the ocean! Things to be aware of: The roads in this area are cobblestone, and Google maps does not reveal how STEEP they are. If you plan on walking in this area, be informed it's not a Sunday stroll. Sometimes the sidewalk disappears, or is broken/irregular in areas. This pretty much applies to all of Malecon and Zona Romantica as well. It'd be challenging to navigate for the mobility impaired.

Hot tub was a little colder than I'd prefer.

The views for the room and pool area were amazing looking over the ocean. The Mediterranean romantic vibes did not disappoint. Small bar on site, we snacked on chips with a mountain of guac along with Happy Hour 2 for 1 margs. The staff was so nice at check in and one of the gals Liz helped me out a lot when I accidentally lost a phone on a tour (a big thank you to her). Loved that there was a cold pool one one level and a big hot tub on the next one up.

Not the hotels fault, but had a group come in around midnight that was blaring music and yelling, had to go over at 4:00am to ask them to stop which was frustrating.

We stayed in the Monarch sea view room and it was wonderful - I would definitely recommend booking a sea view room. We saw whales in the bay from our bedroom, which was a wonderful surprise. It is a 2k walk to the Malecón (that was OK for us) and if you didn’t want to walk, taxis are plentiful. It was really nice to be in a quieter area. The bar / restaurant also had lovely views and the food and drink were great. All the people working in the hotel were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel.

If you're looking for a relaxing, clean, and friendly place to stay that is situated in a safe, high-end neighborhood, with amazing ocean views and gorgeous sunsets every day- then this place is for you!! First time ever visiting Mexico and I was here by myself. I stayed here for a month while working remotely and absolutely loved it!! The rooms are gorgeous (very clean and spacious!); the service is amazing; the food is great, and the views of the ocean are breathtaking!! I was so incredibly fortunate to stay here and so grateful to the staff for making my stay so enjoyable and relaxing!! The staff takes the time to actually get to know you and are very hospitable (they speak English very well, but always great to know some Spanish!). The food here is really good, I loved their breakfast offerings, quac, drinks, tacos, and quesadillas! One note is that their restaurant is open from 8 am till 10pm (including the outdoor bar near the pool) and the staff is a floating/rotating staff that is not stationed in one spot all day so you might have to flag someone down near the kitchen or lobby to assist you (they are super friendly and will help). It's not really shown in the pictures, but they also have two jacuzzis, one on the first floor and then one on the third floor. The hotel is located in a really gorgeous area in Conchas Chinas which is situated within the mountains (a very quiet area- about 3-5 min drive to downtown or a 15 min walk). I will say, if you decide to walk to their beach (which I highly recommend checking out) then wear sneakers that have a lot of tread because the roads get pretty slippery when it rains (about a 10 min walk or so). Other than that, it's a real quick Uber/taxi ride to get to downtown and experience all that Puerto Vallarta has to offer while being able to stay in a more relaxing and secluded area (get the best of both worlds!!).

Each room is uniquely decorated with traditional Mexican tiles and wood, providing an authentic experience. The hotel’s multi-level design features charming patios, offering private spaces to relax. The views of the bay are absolutely spectacular, and the location is peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle. The rooftop pool and bar are delightful, and the on-site restaurant serves good food. The staff are attentive and helpful, ensuring a comfortable stay.

It’s important to note that the property is situated atop a steep hill. This location can make walking to and from the beach or town quite challenging, especially for those who are not physically fit. The walk back to the hotel is straight uphill, making it difficult to return on foot. However, there is a taxi rank directly opposite the hotel, with taxis readily available. The walk to town takes about 25 minutes downhill, while a taxi ride to the Zona Romantica is only five to ten minutes. Guests should be prepared for the steep terrain when considering this otherwise beautiful and tranquil hotel.

The beautiful rooms, done in varied warm or cool colors, and the shared areas, done in a soothing blue and white tile decor with many plants, all make the relaxing and comfy areas pleasing to the eye. All that comes with the incredible view of the bay. The delicious food and drink is served with friendly service in the small restaurant and viewing area and is nicely presented and reasonably priced. I also enjoyed the hot tub while watching the magical sunset. The bathrooms, most quite large, are beautifully designed with varing colors of tiles. The prices "off season" are a wonderful bargain. The house kitty was friendly and cosied up with me while drinking my morning tea.

This is not a hotel for people who have problems with many stairs, there is no elevator. Only coffee offered in the rooms. Would be nice to have a few tea selections and condiments w/ spoon. P.S.; In my room, Tamaya, the bathroom sink was draining very slowly.
