We recently stayed at GHL Corales in Cartagena and had an overall great experience. Although the property is around 10 years old and could benefit from a bit of love—like a fresh coat of paint and some attention to certain facilities—it still offers a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere. The hotel is ideally located right in front of the beach and just a short drive from the airport, making it perfect for a quick getaway or the start of a longer vacation. We stayed in one of the suites, which featured a spacious living room and tasteful decor. It was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained—perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun. Amenities include three pools, one hot tub, a formal restaurant, a casual cafeteria-style restaurant near the pool, and a cozy bar. There’s also a well-equipped gym and a full-service spa offering a wide range of treatments. The main restaurant was a true highlight. The food was absolutely succulent—bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. It was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Cartagena. Wi-Fi was generally fast and reliable throughout the property. While it occasionally slowed a bit in outdoor areas, it held up well enough for streaming, video calls, and staying connected. What truly made our stay special was the staff. Lewis, Aura, Boris, and Esmeralda were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience. Their hospitality made us feel welcomed and at home. With just a bit of maintenance and refreshing, GHL Corales could truly shine. We’d absolutely return and recommend it to others looking for great service, a beachfront location, and delicious food just minutes from Cartagena’s airport.

Options for breakfast, clean and comfortable installations. Easy to get to Bocagrande and "Ciudad Amurallada" by Taxi/uber, etc. Around 15.000 COP as of today. The swimming pool is great

Nothing, I knew location beforehand and accounted to go to a more touristic beach like Bocagrande in some specific moments during my visit. Did not have time to go to Crespo beach, which is closer, I could see some few people there from the building, but not sure how it is

The hotel has a great location with beautiful views and excellent connectivity. It is well-connected, making it easy to explore the city, and the airport is conveniently close.

However, the hotel could use some renovation, as some areas feel outdated. Also, only a few staff members speak English, which can make communication a bit difficult.

The room was very spacios and clean with a great view of the sea from the balcony. The magnificent pools in the number of 4!!! were a very good idea! The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The other guests from hotel in swimming pool were very noisy and I am very thankful for a good solution with a reduced opening time till 9 p.m. The breakfast is good, but far far away from european quality (breads and buns are really untasty and sweet..., but it is not a fault of hotel. In Colombian supermarkets are also the same things... They have no idea how good the breads and buns can be. Sad.). Not many vegeterian options/salads and complete lack of sweets (cakes, cookies, etc.).

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel because of the awesome staff. They provided me with everything I needed and became like family. The pool area was great and the bar/restaurant as well.

The only thing I did not like was the proximity to a public beach. The nearby beach had no people due to the rip tides so you had to taxi about 5 minutes to a normal beach. Other than that everything was good.

Room was very spacious with a beautiful view, staff super kind and helpful. The center is about 12min ride. The pools were nice, especially when traveling with kids, this is much needed in the Cartagena heat. Bathroom was pretty spacious too

Daily we would find strands of hair on the floor by the pool. Breakfast had a lot of pork in it, so if you don't eat that, your options are limited. Water out the shower wasn't really strong, but it was doable. Wifi might not always work, but I was told that whole part of the city had troubles with wifi every now and then. Also I was surprised that there weren't free bottles of water in the room daily

The property is clean, though some places are showing the wear and tear of being next to the ocean for so many years. The room was clean, nicely air conditioned, and spacious. The pools were very nice and the kiddy pool seemed like a blast for the little ones.

You will need to take cab to the city center/walled city but that should only run you $3-$4 USD in a yellow cab.

The staffs were pleasant and professional. Even though we speak English they made it seems so easy helping. Miguel at the guest service downstairs was very, very pleasant, helpful and professional. He understands us and assist us well. Kitchen staff was also great. Overall very friendly staffs always smiling and warm.

I liked the fact everyone was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We travelled with a one year old and they gave us a cot straight away - it was very handy.

Room service was a bit slow and sometimes didn’t bother to fulfil our requests but overall it was OK

I liked that it is really close to the airport and the historic center. The bed was very comfortable. I loved the breakfast, they included something different every day.

The room floor wasn't very clean. Also, the doorknob had a little problem, sometimes it was a bit difficult to open it. Other than that, everything was nice.
