From the moment you step into the hotel, you are welcomed with smiles and warm greetings. The extravagant lobby makes way to the rooms and restaurants, where every hotel employee acknowledges you. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, with plenty of bathroom and dressing space. If you're lucky, your room will also extend to a small patio into the outdoor garden. As our trip extended nearly two weeks, we were treated to free laundry service, daily breakfast, daily afternoon canapes and drinks, and fun room decorations for my birthday. Breakfast offerings were abundant, changed almost daily, and suited a variety of tastes. Check-in/checkout and airport transfer were all handled effectively by staff. The hotel is also located conveniently close to city attractions, some walkable, but many accessible by a short car ride.

Breakfast service could be improved. There were multiple times that we were seated in the dining hall with a messy table that had not been cleaned and prepared before we were sat. This meant we had to chase down staff for glasses, water and cutlery. A minor flaw!

Spacious neat and tidy bedroom and toilet, clean comfortable mattress and pillows over all 4.5 / 5! Though I would love to have little bit more continental items in the menu, breakfast was excellent. Another specialty we enjoyed was the evening tea service. I must say it, it is our first time experience, and it was quiet refreshing after our international trip. However, we didn't like the idea of having alcohol and non-alcohol options together. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool, and I had a good time in the Gym. Ambience and architecture were amazing which was a good change compared to our stays in other hotels.

Not much to complain except the fact that I have to request for some supplies which were insufficient in the room when we checked in! And a little overpriced (due to understandable reasons)!

One night stay enroute to our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautiful- our balcony room was immaculate and comfortable. Beautiful breakfast conservatory with amazing array of food and drinks. Reshmi from Customer Services & Reception arranged delivery of a surprise chocolate celebration cake and fruit. The doorman was celebrating 33 years when we talked to him and he said he “praises the day” he started at the hotel. The Cabinet Room evening drinks and snacks was perfect and the manager there was an attentive host. Lovely pool and gardens. We will definitely return. Nice buffet breakfast with many options, including cold and hot coffee, fresh fruit, and French toast. Staff was attentive and courteous. The gratis dinner (finger-food) buffet was also a nice perk.

Hotel taxi service was too expensive with no "one-way" options for travel. They also discouraged the use of local taxis, which were much cheaper. Room did not get cleaned one day, so we had to wait in the lobby until that was done. Outdoor pool is too cold for swimming, even in the summer months.

Good location and old-world charm. Staff courteous, friendly, and helpful.

There was no water in the bathroom. Matter was quickly resolved. No working hairdryer as unit is plugged into the back of a drawer, and someone had pulled the dryer out, resulting in pulling the plug out. There was no easy way to replug the dryer. Had to call out maintenance people to fix it. A simple note informing guests not to try pulling out the hairdryer explaining about the possibility of dislodging the plug would have helpful. Otherwise all was good

The service was impeccable. From each of the staff came a smile and willing to do anything for me Food was excellent at room service or at breakfast. The hotel is super super clean for being many years since in operation The massage by Jenny was beyond expectations. Jenny was going beyond her duty to make me feel comfortable.

The only thing I suggest is the temp of sauna and steam room was not hot enough for me. The architecture of the spa area looks run down. The hotel could make spa more valued proposition by improving the look of it. Lots of potential to make the spa more interesting esp with the Indian wellness culture.

I loved everything but the location. The staff were very professional and friendly. I also enjoyed the breakfast and restaurant choices inside. I would definitely recommend staying here.

However, the hotel isn't easily accessible to walk anywhere; you must go by car to get to places. I realize this might be the case in many places but there's usually a little walkability. Here there is not. There aren't any sidewalks or restaurants nearby the hotel so be prepared to go by car to visit sites. Everything else (which is in the hotel's control) was great.

Fantastic service and hospitality. Well exceeds other comparable global brands! Perfect balance of quiet and chaos. Small glitches in some maintenance issues that could possibly have been checked pre-visit, but the staff responded to and resolved and problems and attended to all requests at superhuman speed during a very busy weekend.

The photographs of the room versus what was provided did not exactly match. Room and balcony in photos seemed slightly bigger. However, all amenities and service far than made up for it.

Lovely place, really beautiful decor everywhere. Wanted to stay here for nostalgia and it didn't disappoint. Breakfast was a fabulous spread with choices to suit every palate. Room was so beautiful and the view was fantastic. Very happy with the staff and service as well.

Used the pool, it did say it was heated but it wasn't and I swam in the cold regardless. Other than this really minor hiccup, I can't fault anything else. Really loved my stay.. I was a little wary of some of the reviews I had read about maintenance of an old place, cleanliness, customer service, etc. but thankfully I had no such issues at all.

Attention to our critical need. We were attended to by a fantastic front desk staff - Amit! He was patient, courteous, efficient and managed to offer us two adjoining rooms (a necessity for us because two travelers were disabled senior citizens) with a fantastic common balcony. This shared space allowed many memorable conversations to flow. Other aspects - The hotel has a ramp at the entrance, so it is wheelchair accessible. The Pavilion restaurant is great - ample natural light. The global cuisine served at the Pavilion restaurant is quite flavorful. Appreciated the engaging, brief conversations I had about travel with Lakrani, a smart staff member. The staff at the hotel are attentive, efficient, courteous without being obsequious.

The desserts served at Fabelle were average and the menu of the South Indian hotel - Dakshin - was surprisingly devoid of basic South Indian meal staples - Dosa, Idli, Wada, etc. I was asked twice about my intention to visit, at the hotel entrance when I was on my motorbike, but the same question was not posed to those who arrived in four wheelers. It felt a little classist but could be incidental. In any case, common standards must prevail.
