The hotel is only a few minutes drive to Portsea’s back and front beaches. All other beaches, such as Sorrento, Blairgowrie, and Rye, are just a short drive away, and you'll also find yourself conveniently close to some lovely wineries on the peninsula. Breakfast in the hotel was really good value for money. Cheaper than eating out at local cafes in surrounding areas with a spacious and stunning balcony view of the golf course, nature, and the sea horizon. I highly recommend visiting this balcony, even if just for a coffee, to enjoy the wonderful view.

Even though demand is high during the Christmas holiday period, the nightly room rate was disproportionately high, especially given the hotel lacks amenities like pools, saunas, or spas. The windows were noticeably dirty from the outside, and there were numerous scuff/dint marks throughout the hotel. Management should address these issues to enhance the hotel's aesthetic appeal.

The place is out in the middle of no where. Which is great. But however you have to keep in mind that the restaurant only opens for breakfast and lunch. There is no dinner service. You either have to try to find somewhere to go which means you have to drive somewhere to have dinner. I tried to do Uber eats..... it was hopeless. Not many places available who will do it and my food wasn't fresh and barely luke warm when I did get it because it has to travel so far. Not a great option if all you want to do is just relax in your room especially if you are tired and have been driving all day. It's a shame it's a nice restaurant with great views but not open for dinner?????????

Location was great as it was Christmas time and this is out of the main drag. Close to portsea main street, beach and London bridge. Food was good, staff were very friendly. Room was great, fridge in room is only a condenser fridge to keep cool not cold. Shower was great, beds were comfy. Good parking spaces.

The people next door in the shared courtyard were very loud and noisy on our second night till very late. No designated smoking area, dress code applies for the bar/restaurant, felt a little out of place with not wanting to get dressed up for breakfast.

Breakfast options were really great, pricing reasonable and staff very helpful. The kitchen didn't open past 6.30 so every evening, we had to find somewhere else to eat and drink, and the hotel is not close to restaurants or pubs. They did provide the name of a good cabbie who picked us up and brought us back for a reasonable price.

Bar and restaurant could stay open, and/or if not, provide a mini-bar, food and snacks, or a snack machine with drinks.

We stayed for one night and the accommodation was excellent and the price was good for the peak time of year . We loved the view and were very grateful to receive an upgrade. I highly recommend this accomodation and will definitely stay again in the future.

That there was no fresh fruit salad for breakfast or yoghurt etc. We had toast which was very nice, but some more healthy options would have been lovely. The coffee was absolutely excellent and the service was second to none. Also please get some Marmelade for the guests to have on toast.

Because of its location the views are great, but access to other restaurants required a drive - ( the in-house restaurant was closed on a Monday night) The car park was in the open, and down a level from the main entrance. And no steps provided down to this lower level, which did seem strange, and easy to rectify. And being within a private golf club there was a rather blokie feel - but that may depend on the day and time.

The hotel is nice and clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. Staff are very nice and friendly.

This wasn’t a big issue, but the balcony doesn’t provide shelter from rain. There’s a coffee table and couple chairs out on the balcony, but if it’s raining, you can’t enjoy yourself there. It would also be nice to add some lights there. Wonder if this was just missed, but we didn’t have any water in the room either.

This was our 3rd stay at the club with plans to come more often. We love everything about this property. The golf course and surroundings are absolutely stunning with greenery everywhere you look. It is a quiet place where you can relax. Rooms are clean and good in size with comfortable beds. The outdoor furniture on the terrace has been updated in a luxurious style. The kitchen serves great pub styles meals with a great selection of beverages, and staff is very friendly and welcoming. Thank you, we will come again.

Windows in rooms could do with a wash, they looked dirty, perhaps from the combination of raindrops and dust.

We have stayed at Mercure Portsea Golf Club many times and are always happy to come back. The location is outstanding with beautiful views of golf course and ocean in the distance. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff friendly, and very welcoming. Also the kitchen menu and quality of meals are very good. Located away from it all in the middle of the golf course. Super quiet surroundings and peaceful. Bed super comfy and aircon worked well. Good water pressure. Awesome views.

Bar fridge was on its way out so did not chill anything much. Be mindful food options are limited as this is separate from the golf club and you will need to head into town for food however plenty of local options around!
