The pub is in an idyllic setting on the corner of a quintessential English village cricket ground and inside contains many cricketing pictures and memorabilia. We had a most comfortable and cosy room with separate sitting area and enjoyed well-kept beer and excellent food over our two-night stay. There is plenty of car parking. Great atmosphere inside with some convivial locals and all the staff we came in contact with were friendly and efficient. Good luck to Rickling Green Cricket Club for the forthcoming season and I'm sure all visiting players will enjoy post-match revelry in The Cricketer's Arms. We were there to attend a rugby match at nearby Bishop's Stortford and our team won, so a good weekend all round.... Next season perhaps?

This is a well run pub with an outstanding pub restaurant. We had the Lords room, large, comfortable, great bed and bedding. Room needs up dating, bit tired. We stayed two nights, great nights sleep, room cleaned and water replenished after first night, very comfortable. Excellent cooked breakfast, friendly staff. Very impressed with dinner in the pub- high quality, creative, not big prices. Very good wine list by bottle or glass. Most of all the staff were very pleasant and happy to help. We travel a lot- would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Nothing really, except curtains and furnishings dated in our room.

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay before catching a flight from Stansted. The staff were very welcoming. Well stocked bar with our favourite real ales. It was burger and pint night and the burger was one of the best we've eaten. Comfortable bed and soft towels. Great choice on the breakfast menu and nicely cooked and presented. The only disappointment was the shower which wasn't very warm and difficult to operate. We mentioned this to the newly appointed friendly general manager who was unaware of the issue and thanked us for the feedback.

We visited The Cricketers Arms as a stop off before flying early in the morning from Stansted Airport. The evening meal my wife and I had was great. The service was a little slow, but there were only two guys serving and it was an unexpectedly busy night. We had our desserts given complimentary due to the poor service. Which was a nice touch. We got talking to the manager after our meal who was a really nice guy, and we wish him all the best going forward with the pub. Our stay was great, especially for the price. We were disappointed that we had to catch our flight before breakfast was served, but we unfortunately couldn't do anything about that.

This was the ideal location for us and 2 dogs, I booked a suite for a little extra room, and we were not disappointed. We had a lovely meal in the pergola Friday night with friends. Saturday and Sunday, we had a great breakfast. Just outside, there was a lovely green, so it was easy to let the dogs have a toilet break, and there were longer walks nearby. We would definitely stay again.

It was very busy on the day we checked in with only one person on the bar serving and checking people in. Not the end of the world, but the only thing that wasn't spot on

Nice location and the food was really good both evenings and breakfasts. Special mention to Izzy who really worked hard Saturday evening and Sunday morning unlike the rest of her colleagues.

Rooms could do with a deep clean, very dusty with cobwebs on the ceiling. We found a pubic hair in the shower. The restaurant service on Friday was very good but sadly not the same could be said about Saturday evening. It was a complete shambles and the gentleman in charge just kept making jokes and poor excuses. At the end of the evening when we went to bed at 11.15 he was sitting at the bar drinking with 'mates'. If it wasn't for Izzy working so hard it would have been a disaster

Arrived with an opportunity to have dessert with a few drinks. Lovely setting facing out over the Cricket field. The staff were professional and welcoming with a touch of vibe that would exude during the summer months on cricket days. Breakfast was both tasty and nicely prepared and cooked, my time was short in the morning but the staff accommodated my sense of time and we was soon on our way to our destination adequately watered and fed.

The bedrooms were clean and sufficient for an overnight stay however the room I stayed in was small but adequate.

The location was quite idyllic for a 'village green' location. The staff on arrival were very helpful and provided all the necessary information you need to know. The dinner was very good and I passed my compliments to the kitchen. Breakfast was lovely and nicely presented. My room was larger than expected and comfortable.

I was a little surprised there was no heating in the bathroom so it was a little chilly in the morning. The toilet in the bathroom was a little 'snug' so any person who was larger would maybe find it a little awkward to use.

Convenient location. Cozy pub. Breakfast was fantastic. Loads of parking.

Bed wasn't the best but certainly did the job for a two night say. Heating seemed to be unable to be controlled from the valve, so despite it being rather hot weather, the heating was on when we came home in the evening. Lightning wasn't that great in the room - relied on the curtains being opened for any real light which is problematic when you're getting ready and don't want the curtains open.

Absolutely Everything! One word EXCELLENT!!! Highly recommended situated in a quiet village, although about 15 mins away the motorway. The staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble and very accommodating. The food was excellent and not badly priced either. The room as well the main restaurant was spotless, we had dogs with us and they accommodated us with a room near the exit door to allow us to sort dogs out without making too much noise. Overall very clean throughout and supplied fresh towels etc on a daily basis without asking. We cannot rate the Cricketers Arms highly enough. Highly recommended and will be going back again in the near future.
