We arrived 2 hours before the check-in time, just to leave our bags while we looked around the Cathedral, but we were actually allowed to checkin and use the room straight away....much appreciated! Room was larger than expected, with one double bed and one single. All very clean. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Good location, very near the Cathedral.

The room was overlooking a busy road, so traffic noise was noticeable, but only when the window was open. It was too cold to open the window during the night during our stay, but in the summer this could be an issue.

Not too far out of town, with parking. A comfortable room and good breakfast, with plenty of choice, including lots of fresh fruit. Friendly, helpful staff. We were warned the central heating had broken down, but the portable radiator provided did a great job and we were comfortably warm. Nice to have the parking charge waived as a goodwill gesture because of the heating.

A very minor niggle was the strange way the toilet was tucked into the corner of the bathroom, with towel rail forcing you to sit at an angle. Not a major problem for us, but would have been difficult for anyone with mobility difficulties.

Warm, friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. There was issues with the central heating but the hotel supplies an electric heater which made the room warm and cosy. The power shower was superb. This was our second visit to the hotel which is really in a good location and near the town centre. We really appreciate older hotels are expensive to maintain, but their prices are very competitive. Will we stay there again? Definitely YES!

The room looked tired and small areas of the room required more cleaning attention especially the mattress cover. My wife and I both found the bed a little hard to sleep on and wish it was a little bigger? The bathroom was quite small and also looking tired. The toilet seat is misaligned and very close to the wall, However, the shower was superb but the curtain kept getting in the way when moving around as it was quite close to the bath edge, maybe a shower screen would resolve this issue? Floor tiles looked grubby, but that might be because of age and wear? But overall it is functional.

Lovely staff, Pete on reception took our cases to the room, was very friendly and informative. Bathroom and towels were spotless but there was no hand soap however there was shower gel which we used instead. Beds were really comfy and there was a fan in the room which we used as it was so warm. You pay £5 for the car park but there is CCTV so not a bad deal. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment of the food and the bar looked cosy too.

We liked everything but if there was anything to say it was it was a bit old fashioned in places.

The size and comfort of the bed was great. The room was very clean with a pleasant aspect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was fantastic, some of the best eggs and mushrooms I’ve ever had in an hotel, again with lovely staff. Although on a road side, in the evening and nighttime it was very quiet. Only a three minute walk to the cathedral. We ate at the ‘sister’ hotel which offered a discount to guests and it was the best meal we had during our stay in Lichfield.

Great location, just a 5 minute walk from the city centre. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is on site parking. Breakfast had a good choice of cereal and fruit etc with a buffet style cooked breakfast. Toast is made to order, so no wastage. In our room the bedding and towels were very clean and the bed was so comfortable.

The car park is first come first served, plus there is a £5 surcharge if you book through Booking.com. The bedrooms are a little dated and need freshening up. The over bath shower had a shower curtain with pink stains along the bottom few inches! The grout and general tiling in the bathroom is old and needs renewing.

The hotel was located in an ideal location, near to the Lichfield Cathedral and in walking distance of the town centre. They dont provide evening meals, however their sister restaurant does and if you book there and show the waitress your hotel booking card, you get 20% off your meal and drinks. There are a lot of eateries in the town centre, so you are spoilt for choices there.

The only thing and its minor is the other occupants , I was woken up at 1am by someone arriving back talking loudly and slamming their bedroom door, but this is not down to the hotel owner, just the individual.

This hotel went above and beyond for us. We were on a cycling tour but my colleagues needed to go home for a funeral. The staff made every effort to help us. Locking our bikes safely away. Making the room available for us at 9.00am for showers and changing so the lads could drive up north for the day. This certainly wouldn't have happened with a big chain hotel but this great hotel is an independent one and so their staff were able to help us. Thanks to all that helped.

A very comfortable and clean hotel, just 10/15 minutes from the cathedral and the city centre and with its own parking. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room (a premier double) was spacious and bright with a large bay window. The breakfast was good with a vegetarian option, served in a comfortable dining room. The hotel has no lunchtime or evening catering, but there are many food pubs and restaurants in the city centre. It does, though, have a well stocked bar open until midnight.

The hot water control on our mixer tap in the bathroom shower was seized and the water was scalding hot. This was very serious safety issue which we reported to reception in the morning. We were assured that the housekeeping staff would put it right. However, returning to the hotel at the end of the day we found that no repair had been undertaken to the hot water tap, so our shower was a safety hazard and unusable.

This gaff has been our go-to hotel in Lichfield for years, and we stay a few times a year. There is an ongoing refurbishment of the hotel, and we were allocated one of the refurbished rooms - which was very nice indeed. The breakfast is good and plentiful (veggie sausages!!), and the staff are always fine. A few minutes from the excellent town centre, with plenty of parking on-site. Note - they charge anyone who books through booking.com an extra £5 for parking.
