Traveling around Europe for a few weeks and had a wedding to go to in a little town nearby. I just needed a place to stay the night but this was the best room that I have stayed in on my trip so far. I wish I had stayed longer. The bed was amazingly comfortable and everything was clean. The only negative was some pigeons making a ruckus outside the window in the morning.

Room was super spacious and that was a wonderful surprise! Ditto bathroom and to have a separate area with a desk was welcome to work. Beautifully set out. Bed was very comfortable even for a bad back sufferer.

They have a quiet period from 11pm to 7am which is good, but prior to that you can hear music from the bar underneath in the room. Not particularly loud on my midweek stay, but if you are sensitive noise (which I am ) bear that in mind.

Beautiful old building, tastefully renovated. Nice large king room with little lounge / work-space / dressing table, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Enjoyed being above the pub as it was the soccer final but people who sleep early should probably ask for a quieter room over weekends :) the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Loved the stay so much stayed for an extra night.

The only thing missing was a little mini bar to keep drinks cool but I see most of the hotels in the UK do not have that in this price-range.

Oh wow!!! What a hidden lil gem of a hotel!! My room (room 3) was absolutely massive!! Had a lully bathroom with a really nice bath with i used and of course and enormous supercomfy bed......ecerytime I visit haverhill I'm staying here for sure...the staff were sooooooo nice they helped me with shops around town as I forgot my trainers and a charger and....doh..... Also dinner was really nice here too....

It would be nice to have a little mini bar/fridge in the room. Specially as we were there over the Xmas days where there was no service or breakfast available. Also a little pointer for the staff if there is no service for 2 days it would be nice to provide a few extra coffee pods and some extra toilet paper. We were spending most time with family so we borrowed a few extra rolls from them but if that option would not have been available we might have had to rip up the sheets 🤣

Breakfast was fine though staff could probably save themselves time by having a jug of orange juice as well as the milk so clients can serve themselves. Bathroom and room weee very clean, neat and well presented with towels stacked etc

It should be much clearer on the instructions that ‘nine jars’ is the name of the place to look for as unless you go to the car park first and right to the back of the car park you just would never find the place. It took us twenty minutes to find it and sat BACs of different types didn’t direct us to it very well. Perhaps what three words or similar may be helpful for people who aren’t local

Stopped here on a cycle tour. Good value and an excellent location right in the middle of Haverhill and the room or suite we had was very good - spacious and new, with high quality fixtures and a big comfortable bed. Staff unfailingly helpful with a special mention for chef Jamie who not only rustled up an excellent breakfast but was very helpful to us in finding somewhere safe for our bikes overnight.

Nothing we didn't like

Bed was comfy but could have been enhanced with 2 x pillows per person. Bathroom and Room very clean. Car park worked well. The cook breakfast was excellent.

We had no mugs in our room so unable to have a tea or coffee in the morning, despite there being supplies. We didn't notice the night before as had spent little time in our room after arriving. Shower caps need to be provided due to style of shower. The supplies on breakfast table, ie Milk and juice were empty when we arrived down, but they were replaced. We found hotel hard to find as Suffolk Hotel name was high upon building . At eye level, it was called another name.

Breakfast options were very good. Bed was comfortable and room was adequate. Was very quiet at night. Access direct from the pay and display car park was very useful.

No drawers so couldn't unpack anything. Bathroom had the smallest washbasin I have ever seen, with a depth of about 2 inches, entirely unsuitable for getting a proper wash without banging one's head on the glass shelf above. Evening meals menu was a bit strange and expensive so didn't use the restaurant.

Booked the one-person room for my mom who wanted to join us visiting my in-laws for Xmas. The singles room was very nice. Often you see these extended cupboards but here you get a proper room. It’s not to big but does provide everything you need.

Few extra rolls of toilet paper and some extra coffee pods for the days there was no service (Xmas and Boxing Day would have been nice but besides that nothing bad to report.
