The B&B was beautiful, very old worldly with all the original fittings, including windows, beams, fireplaces etc. furniture was well suited to the style. Claire our host was really warm and welcoming, ensuring that everything was to our liking. breakfast was lovely, fresh made, the poached eggs were perfect. Claire even provided a small ironing service which was fantastic. The view from the window (see pic) was straight out to the garden and was really pretty. Although the bathroom was separate, it was private and clean. The B&B runs along a main road, but with the extra glazing, we didn't hear any traffic at all during the night. You can even buy fresh free range chicken eggs which we will be getting next visit.
the only thing i found was the mattress was too soft, being a front sleeper I dipped quite a bit although this may just be the twin room which we stayed in. we are aiming to try them all.

Excellent accommodation. Well managed. Good value for money. Clean, comfortable bed. Despite being close to the road, there was no traffic noise. Has extensive garden that is accessible to guest (not used). It is a B and B so do not expect facilities in a hotel (fitness suite etc). Breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable. There is free wifi. There is free parking. Felt safe generally. Note, it is not manned 24 hours hence need to communicate with the host about arrival time (not difficult) and someone will meet you to give you your keys. I certainly will stay again if I was in the area.
Nothing to fault. Shower a tad too hot and could not reduce temperature further (Can't believe I said that :-)

Everything. The delux room was really lovely. Very comfortable and loads of space with a wonderful bath. Breakfast was excellent in particular the brown bread and sausages. On our arrival there was home made cake for us in our room which was delicious. A really lovely touch. There were recommendations about where to eat. We took one of these up and the food in the pub was very tasty. Claire was an excellent hostess. All in all an excellent place to stay.

Beautiful old farmhouse in a lovely location. Host was welcoming and friendly and made sure our stay was the best possible. We had The Rockingham Suite which was basically the whole of the attic floor. A lounge area with huge bedroom and well fitted bathroom. Full English breakfast including cereals etc and toast was perfectly cooked and very tasty good quality ingredients.

Fabulous B&B, I might even go as far as to say my favourite ever! Castle House Farm is a beautiful old property dating back to the 17th century, located in a really pretty village and with a large garden, which our room overlooked. We had a huge room (The Rockingham Suite) - in fact, it was more like an apartment, with a large attic bedroom, private bathroom, a hallway with a dressing table and a library/snug with a big desk, easy chair and lots of books! Host Claire was lovely - attentive and friendly, and on hand to recommend places to eat. She also makes delicious scrambled egg, which I requested with my very nice full English breakfast! Breakfast was served at the time we'd asked for at a large table in a homely dining room with suitably old period furniture, and original stone-framed windows looking out on the garden. It felt more like we were guests in someone's home rather than paying customers, which was lovely; there was a good selection of cereals and a wonderful fresh fruit salad, and jam, marmalade etc (from Waitrose, and in real jars not the usual plastic portion pots!) for the toast you could make yourself in the toaster provided. The whole place was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped, tastefully homely whilst being quietly efficiently run. This is how it should be done!
The only thing that could possibly have improved our stay was to have a blind of some kind on the Velux skylight in our room as the moonlight was bright, and it was a little light in the morning, and the window was almost over the bed. Also perhaps a handhold on the wall and a rubber bathmat, as the bath was quite high to step out of the shower.

Very accommodating, good communication throughout: from start (upon booking) to finish (when we left the property) We were pleasantly surprised by how good breakfast was with a personal touch on dietary requirements of party member. The owner took the time to stop and chat us, about our stay in the area, when she saw us around the property.

The bedroom and bathrooms are huge.. Comfortable beds with high class linen. Claw foot bath and separate shower cubicle with forceful power shower. Very large window to view lovely garden, lay in bed and enjoy the vista and hear the birds sing, how wonderful! Great host nothing is too much trouble. Good breakfast.
Nothing to do with the guest house. This is a tip for others - make sure that the local pubs and restaurants are open before venturing out for an evening meals as open 7 days a week doesn't apply here. Very

I booked the room last minute as I was unable to get a room in a local hotel, I'm so glad that I did ! Clair gave me a large bedroom on the top floor with it's own seating area and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was amazing and Clair was a great and attentive host. The B&B also has it's own off road parking and there's a pub less than 5 mins walk away. The house has so much character and history and If I'm in the area again and need a place to stay for a night or two then I'd definitely check availability rather than stay in a soulless budget hotel.
The British weather !
