Good location for what we needed. Good range of drinks on offer and a good breakfast included in the price.

Could do with a little tlc in places but still very good value for the price. £65 with genius discount inc breakfast.

From the moment of booking, then upon arrival, check in/ check out, each & every member of staff from the reception team, bar staff, chef & hospitality staff & management looked after both my dad & myself, going above & beyond to make our stay relaxed & stress free, nothing was too much trouble, friendly & empathetic, thank you so very much - Deluxe Twin room comfortable & clean, selection of toiletries & good choice of tea & coffee making facilities - Breakfast was a feast with lots of choices with both continental & cooked buffet options the quality & service that was provided was 1st class..... definitely awesome value for money paid for stay. :-) Awesome staff team

Simple, clean, pleasant room with excellent storage. Nice to have coffee machine as well as kettle in the room Very friendly welcoming staff [Lovely cosy bar for drinks & had a good evening meal - lovely food & attentive but not intrusive service ]

Bathroom needs a refit or at least a little smartening up - grubby sealant, shower screen leaked onto floor, etc A bit of confusion over breakfast - cooked, full English not available mid-week, though continental breakfast was satisfactory [On a summer's evening we guess that the room overlooking the patio might be noisy but this wasn't a problem in February!]

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Pheasant Inn in Glaston, Leicestershire, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The inn itself is full of character, blending rustic charm with modern comforts. My room was beautifully presented, immaculately clean, well-appointed, and with a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. The attention to detail, from the plush bedding to the thoughtful amenities, made it feel like a true home away from home. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the food. The pub serves outstanding dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The hearty breakfast set me up perfectly for the day ahead. The bar is equally impressive, with a great selection of local ales, wines, and spirits to enjoy by the roaring fire. The location is another bonus. Nestled in the picturesque Rutland countryside, The Pheasant Inn is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding villages, scenic walking trails, and Rutland Water. Whether you're visiting for a relaxing getaway or a countryside adventure, this place has something for everyone. Overall, I can't recommend The Pheasant Inn highly enough. The warm hospitality, outstanding food, and idyllic setting make it a true hidden gem. I’ll certainly be returning!

We recently stayed at this hotel for the second time, and once again, it was an absolutely delightful experience. Both times, the owner personally greeted us upon arrival, which made us feel incredibly welcome. They took the time to have a friendly chat about our plans in the area and provided helpful information about breakfast and hotel amenities. One evening, the bar was kept open a bit longer just so we could finish our drinks, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It’s clear that the staff genuinely care about their guests' comfort and enjoyment. The room was comfortable and clean, with fresh, cozy bedding that made for a great night’s sleep. The breakfast was delicious, with a full cooked breakfast to start the day right. Additionally, the spacious car park was a convenient perk, especially when traveling with family. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and comfortable stay!

So many doors! Easy to get lost!😆

A lovely stay and Bernard and his team could not have been more welcoming; both us humans and our dog were made to feel very welcome. The rooms are a little 'bijou', but clean and recently updated with a comfortable bed, USB charging and and a quality coffee maker. The TV is tiny and could be upgraded, but that's a nice to have rather than a must have. We found the standard continental breakfast great with quality products, especially the ham and cheese and we booked Sunday lunch for 9 people and it was superb. Overall, it exceeded our expectations, bravo.

The only tiny thing we did not like was the cheap tomato ketchup - the food is really good, made with good quality ingredients buy a chef who is clearly great at their job so it's a shame to spoil a burger etc. with cheap, vinegary ketchup - splash out, buy Heinz :-)

Host, Bernard, was exceptionally attentive and welcoming. Service at meals was faultless. Continental breakfast included (with option to upgrade to Full English for £9.95) was good, although a dairy-free oat milk was provided as single portion cartons - 4 needed for cereal. Evening meal was good although there were no dairy-free dessert options. The room was comfortable but had no toiletries- this was quickly rectified on request. The windows could use some upgrading as they are old double glazed units which ran with condensation in the morning. Bathroom was clean with a good shower. Overall, an enjoyable short break.

This is great place to stay. Comfortable, clean room and a good location to explore Rutland and surrounding area. The staff were very welcoming especially Bernard and knowledgeable on what to see and do in the area. The Continental breakfast had a lovely selection. Evening meals which we had were excellent together with good choice of deserts. All in all we could not fault our stay at The Old Pheasant and will be returning to enjoy the hospitality and good food. Thank you Bernard and your staff for making our 50th Anniversary special.

The owner has obviously taken on a huge task in creating his dream establishment and has started off really well in just a few short months Kept things simple, meals excellent and staff friendly and helpful. On a physical aspect he has aimed at great beds and therefore guarateed a great night sleep. The location is good for passing traffic and we were very impressed by how busy it was and locals seemed to use it too. The interiors need upgrading and areas a bit gloomy at present and we found lighting in the rooms not particularly good. Good idea to simplify costs of everything and pricing realisitc. It will be interesting to revisit in one year's time and see what other improvements have been made. Good luck You deserve success.

Gloomy corridors and no hand rails on stairs

Cosy pub with lots of original features. Nice decor. Food was very nice and lots to choose from.

Front of house needs some training in customer service. Unfriendly on arrival. Easily frustrated and seemed quite depressed. Not a warm welcome by any means. Also the host Bernard was very accommodating and friendly. However he does have a tendency to interrupt too much. A little overbearing! The evening meal staff members were excellent and very polite and friendly. Toilet in room 10 was constantly filling and overflowing which made noise throughout the night.
