'Cosy Double' room was good. Ground floor room not alot of noise. Reception very helpful and got maintenance to put a small fridge in the room to keep waters cold overnight. Peaceful area and walks. Breakfast was very good with options and drinks reasonably priced.

Restaurant was good on the breakfasts but found the dinner to be slightly high on cost for what you get. Ordered both the steaks at around £36each and was not blown away by it given the price. It just looked like a Tesco steak. There was no wow factor for cost to size ratio. Onion rings were probably the best thing I enjoyed on the plate. When we stay again, we will probably look to drive somewhere local, village or Oakham, to have Tpp dinner

Our room was great, clean, comfy and well appointed. And the view from our balcony was lovely. The breakfast was substantial and tasty. The evening meals were good, the staff were very attentive.

The evening menu was a bit pricey for what it was, although the food was cooked very well. The menu lacked quality salad options. There could have also been some better sides. The breakfast could have added smoked salmon and advertised poached eggs (which they kindly prepared). As the estate is sprawling with gym, reception and restaurant in separate buildings umbrellas should be provided.

The room was modern and well equipped. The bed comfortable. The bathroom spacious with modern lighting controls. A problem in the room was rectified within 10 minutes of being reported. The breakfast was excellent and with the self service counter having direct access from the kitchen, the hot food could be topped up as required. The evening meal menu remained the same throughout our visit, but had reasonable variety.

No chest of drawers in our bedroom. Mirror in the bathroom too high for smaller people. Cars parked on the gravel drive section up to main reception making it difficult to park when checking in. Cars parking on gravel section of drive disturbing when leaving late. Big, free on site car parking areas under utilised.

The most polite, friendliest and welcoming staff I have experienced in a long time. Nothing was too much trouble and a huge effort always to make sure our stay was perfect. The room, service all round, food etc was all 10/10. The situation of the hotel on the banks of Rutland water was stunning and perfectly situated to explore the area. I would highly recommend.

A handrail disguised as a towel rail at the end of the bath woukd have been useful and helpful in getting in and out of the Bath …. But this is being really picky!

The grounds were really lovely although lots of steep slopes and steps and the room was nice and clean the staff were friendly.

Lack of parking Lift didn't go to the top floor so had to cart luggage up a flight of stairs there was no warning about this and no offer of help. Restaraunt located away from hotel fortunately it didn't rain.We booked breakfast and although the food was good quality and plentiful it was badly cooked and luke warm in fact some of it ie tomatoes and hash browns didn't appear to be cooked at all.We had planned to eat dinner on our second night but having had breakfast we went to a local pub lovely hot meal half the price on leaving nobody asked if we had enjoyed our stay I don't think any one rally cared. Shame beautiful surroundings needs someone to sort things out.

The staff were all very friendly. We had a huge room with lake view. The standard of food in the restaurant was very high. Breakfast was fantastic. The gym is one of the best I’ve been in in a hotel.

Parking close to the hotel is limited and it can be difficult to find a spot. Most rooms are in annexes; and the restaurant and spa facilities are all in separate buildings meaning it could be tricky in winter. No air con in the room: it was warm & stuffy. We had a very long wait at dinner , being told by staff ‘everyone has come at once’! The pool is functional. Sauna & steam room rather cramped. Crazy golf course needs an upgrade/maintenance.

Beautiful setting and view from our room of the lake, luxiouris room decor and comfy bed. Staff were extremely friendly and food in the on-site restaurant delicious. The pitch and putt was a great game to have on site and easy access to the public footpaths around the lake, would definitely recommend as a place to escape to nature and calm!

The booking experience of the resturant, and spa facilities, if you've already booked a room could be made a little easier. Also be helpful to have the swimming pool/other facilities a little better signposted/signs made much bigger, as we spent quite a while walking around.

We recently celebrated our anniversary with a stay at this wonderful hotel and had a truly memorable experience. We stayed in one of the lodges, which offered a gorgeous view of the lake—absolutely stunning and so peaceful. Check-in was a breeze, and we appreciated the convenience of parking right outside the lodge. Our daughter had a fantastic time enjoying the pool, which was clean and well-maintained. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was superb—not only was the food delicious, but the staff were also incredibly thoughtful and acknowledged our special occasion in a lovely way. Breakfast the next morning was just as enjoyable, with a great selection and friendly service. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything from the setting to the service exceeded our expectations, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended for a relaxing and special getaway!

The grounds are stunning, a perfect drive in with easy parking and then a smiley greeting at the reception. The maps provided were useful. My room was perfect, a beautiful view and a lovely balcony perfect for a chilled glass of wine and nibbles. Comfortable bed which I sank into after a long walk...had the deepest sleep! Breakfast was great. I had my furry friend with me so we sat in the lounge area which was really fabulous. Breakfast had a good selection of the usual suspects. Fruit, muesli, hot buffet etc.. I have to say the sausages were damn fine. 💜 I love that this place is so dog friendly. They provide a bed and a welcome pack too. It's truly made our stay so easy and relaxing.

I didn't like that I could not stay another day.

A main building was lovely and the location was beautiful. The room was lovely and very comfortable with a nice bathroom.

I would have appreciated being shown to our room. We were simply given a misleading map and had to find our own way. I hated the dilapidated artificial trees outside our door. They were truly atrocious and made my heart sink. The lighting in the room was poor. The music at breakfast was off-putting and the food was basic - it felt like a canteen.
