Arrived a couple of hours early, so expected to have to get a coffee and wait til 3pm in the bar. However, the lovely lady on reception checked with housekeeping and I was able to check in straight away. The room was lovely. Spotlessly clean and very spacious. It was incredibly warm aswell, so much so, I had to turn the heating down. The bathroom was well equipped with lovely toiletries and a large shower area. The bed was comfy with a choice of pillows on the bed. I was worried I would hear the M1 traffic but it was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was buffet style and "eat as much as you want". It was very tasty indeed and cooked to perfection. Its not much to look at from the outside to be honest, but inside, its really very nice. All the staff were lovely and friendly and I really enjoyed my stay.

I thought the mirror area opposite the wardrobe was the best place to do hair/make up as the lighting was great there. But there was no where to put items like brushes, make up cases...so everything just went on the bed and I was worried about getting marks on the bedding. Maybe a fold down shelf would be an idea so things could put on there whilst using it then folded up when not.

Staff went over and above.

Food on the first night was poor, and couldn’t be eaten - most disappointing. However, the staff were really understanding and frankly lovely. Risked the food on my second night, which was perfectly fine, as was my meal on the final night. I’m convinced that what happened food-wise on my first night was not the norm - we all have a bad day from time to time. My real take-away from my visit here was the warmth and genuineness of the staff I encountered. I will happily recommend staying here and look forward to my next visit.

I asked the hotel if they could do something nice to our room as myself and my partner we're having a spontaneous night away to celebrate our engagement - when we entered our room, there were petals/confetti on our bed, lots of balloons and a bottle of prosecco! It was a lovely touch, and it made our night extra special! My fiance loved the surprise! The staff were lovely and so polite and attentive! The pillows were super comfy!

The mattress was way too firm for my liking and I couldn't get comfortable. A softer mattress would be better!

The reception honestly made the stay perfect she was super help and greet the kids with little gift boxes. We had been a long drive so to be greeted with some so kind and welcoming made us feel so happy and relaxed. The room had plenty of room was clean. Had everything needed for a quick layover. We also found a pub not far away called the lepset. The kids made friends in than played in the beer garden for hours. While we relaxed ate dinner while listening to some live music. Such a lovely friendly pub.

Pillows bit lumpy

Amazing staff, all very friendly and helpful, from reception, restaurant and housekeeping. Room needed a deep clean, shower area very grubby, but really not so bad that it wasn't ok to use. Food in the restaurant a little overpriced but then they have to keep fully staffed for anyone that wants it even if not busy, so understand it has to be slightly inflated. Food quality was excellent. Reception advised to book breakfast night before to get discounted rate, quite a big saving 👍

Our room was very good and the general bar/lounge/restaurant areas are now bright and spacious following extensive refurbishment since our last visit. The 3-course dinner was excellent as was breakfast. The dinner, bed and breakfast package which we took offered fantastic value for money.

We had a minor problem with our room which was quickly resolved by Reception and it would have been better if the bar had stocked a better range of zero alcohol beers including a draft 0% lager offering. You can only drink so much Pepsi Max!

Absolutely amazing all the staff are brilliant ,they all make you feel like royalty,the food is simple but cooked to perfection ,I’m in catering and to be totally honest couldn’t in anyway do any better I’m just in ore how they can produce this excellent quality on a daily basis,well done and you certainly put the rest of us to shame can’t thank you enough and hope everything able to see you for Christmas

Nothing was even a thought of dislike ,now you can’t say that about many places can you !

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The location was very convenient and very close to major motorways (M1 and M62). Overall I think this hotel is great value for money.

The breakfast was OK but a bit dry. It tasted like it had been standing under warming lights for a couple of hours probably because the time of breakfast was too early (6.30-9,30 am).

The staff were welcoming and it wasn't a problem that we booked at the last moment, an hour and a half before arriving. Easy to find, just off the motorway with plenty of parking. Dinner was available in the restaurant after 8pm despite there being a coach party in and we hadn't booked; the food was fine. This was a very handy overnight stop.

The bed wasn't particularly comfortable.

Breakfast. Lady on reception, Natalie? Very helpful and friendly. Breakfast staff exceedingly helpful.

Bed not the best. Uncomfortable and a little small? Room and rear entrance not as up market as I thought for a Holiday Inn. Wet room disability shower things seemed to be in the wrong place, ie, shower head in relation to chair and soaps etc.....too far away. No morning newspaper to purchase.
