This small privately owned Hotel was a pleasant surprise. Everything about it was exceptional from the decor to the tasteful, quality fittings. Breakfast was delicious and gluten free. The staff were friendly and the owner was obviously proud of his achievement. It well worth going off the beaten track (M1) to stay here for a night or two.

We had both dinner and breakfast. The food was very good, and hot, and the selection was good. We are pescatarians and both found something which we really enjoyed. The room was comfortable and we had a really good night's sleep. The grounds are lovely and I was particularly interested in the tree which has been made into a photo opportunity by hanging lights and hearts from it. Although on a main road it's a peaceful and pleasant environment. Absolutely loved our stay!

The staff were amazing and friendly. The room was spacious enough for us all and fantastic value for money. Bed was very comfortable and the temperature of the room was perfect. Everything was nice and clean and the hotel and gardens were beautiful.

The bathroom could do with a little work, it's showing its age but still very clean and everything in working order.

loved the location .. staff are fabulous.. bed was ace & lots of room in the bedroom .. love the fact my dog was made welcome .. great price for a family of four & the dog ..

shower was on the wrong wall which results in water coming out the door onto a slippy wood flooring ! ( nearly broke my neck & I’m now in a leg boot cast due ankle & leg sprain .. ) breakfast wasn’t good !! over priced for what we received!! 1 sausage 2 bacon 1 egg & a plate filled with mushrooms & tomatoes.. ( I’d have preferred less mushrooms & extra sausage or hash brown ) there were only 2 glasses left for orange juice so 2 of us went without & was giving 3 slices of toast so again 1 went without .. I’d definitely recommend going out for breakfast.. I’m glad we didn’t buy dinner the night before as the meals are over priced ( we had take out ) .. car park is small so arrive promptly as there’s no parking on the road outside ..

Staff was extremely polite and friendly, hotel room was fabulous with great decor, comfy beds and plenty of tea and coffee making stuff.. food was also excellent.

It was near perfect, however on the night we stayed the hot water was barely luke warm. I'm sure this was a temporary issue and also I am sure that if I'd complained we would have been moved to a new room.

Food was fabulous. We had dinner and breakfast. Both were lovely and had a good clear selection of gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian/vegan options. The place was easy to find, the room and bed were comfortable and the host was very friendly. The hotel was nice and warm (in February). Gardens were nice to look on while having food. There was adequate parking for us (probably enough for about 8 cars, so on a busier night you'd have to fi down somewhere on the street)..

We expected the standard room to be small,, but the bathroom was really small. With two louver shutter doors leading immediately to the toilet and shower, it was more like a cupboard than a room, with little privacy. The floor and furniture was a bit creaky, so every movement made a noise.

The manager was very personable and helpful. The outside area was lovely.

The louvre doors to our en suite. And the massive step up into a shower cubicle that wasn't the best, with a shower head not working as it should.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, plenty of off road parking, dinner was gorgeous. Staff were so helpful and friendly.

My room and the breakfast/dinner room was a really odd layout that I found it hard to get my head around it The shower was actually in my room not as an ensuite, and dining room was by reception. If you can get your head around this, then a lovely hotel that is great value for money.

We had drinks at the bar in the evening, and had some snacks which were great, pakoras, onion bhajis, and chips. Breakfast was ideal and set us up for the journey home. Overall a good place to stay.

The bed was a little uncomfortable, and the room a bit hot, even with the window wide open.
