The evening menu is exceptional, the special boards are fantastic I realy rate the evening meal. it is one of the best pub food I have had. Our room was comfortable and clean , a good bath and shower, the hot water is hot good for me however be careful the water is scalding. The staff went that one staff beyond , we felt welcomed and looked after.

The only draw back is the breakfast, do not expect a full English. You could have a bacon sandwich, sausage sandwich , scramble egg on toast . cheese on toast, the cheese on toast is for me not recommended it is cheese slices not very nice , the continental is cereal yogurt and fruit. This hotel for the price is fantastic value. I would have liked a proper cooked breakfast. If you can make a sandwich why can you not do a full English. it's a shame this lets this lovely place down.

Nicely appointed room with comfortable bed, full size bath and plenty of storage space. There was an extensive menu for the evening meal and the quality of the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient all round. Booking for evening meal highly recommended as this is a busy pub!

Our room was directly on the road and although it was not a particularly hot night it was still necessary to leave the window open for ventilation meaning a certain level of traffic noise. The breakfast choice was odd - bacon, eggs and sausages were available but not together on the same plate!

The staff were friendly and there was a large car park to the property. The room was very clean and looked as if it had been recently decorated and the en-suite refurbished. There were tea-making facilities in the room. Free WiFi. We had an evening meal which was really nice. The menu was varied and a number of specials on the board. The portion sizes were large enough, even for the most hungry guest. Service was excellent.

The only things that I would mention is that the bath would benefit from an anti-slip mat. The tv reception in the room wasn’t very good.

From the minute we arrived we were welcomed with genuine Yorkshire friendliness. Nothing was a problem, they found us seats in a very busy restaurant and the food was great - fresh, interesting and all cooked from scratch. Room was good too. Very comfortable bed, great bathroom and decent size.

There is not a full breakfast service, just a choice of scrambled eggs or beans on toast, or sausage or bacon sandwich. The 'continental' option is basically just boxed cereal and toast so not great and completely at odds with the dinner service.

The location was perfect for our needs

Breakfast between 7am and 9am on a Sunday morning, I work early every day and after a night out I like to have a lazy morning 8am to 10am would be more civilised at the weekend. We had asked for a room on the ground floor, this was only possible with an upgrade which we were charged an extra £10 at the property, I was reminded by a member of staff I owed £10 for the upgrade in front of other guests and before we had even ordered breakfast, this is not very professional. I agreed to the upgrade and the price, it would have been nice if I had been allowed to deal with this at check out. I'm not sure what other guests have done in the past but don't tar everyone with the same brush

A little gem in the location. Super room which opened onto a courtyard garden which was lovely. The pub is great. We ate dinner on Friday night and this was really really good- compliments to the chef.

The breakfast vibe was a bit odd. Don’t quite expect to be offered ‘if you’d like something hot we can do you a bacon butty or scrambled egg on toast’. We ignored this and asked for what we wanted and this didn’t seem to be a problem. The service was good though, just all a bit strange. Oh and the tv only has about 2 random channels ( didn’t matter though as the room was so lovely and we just chilled instead)

We love to stay and eat at The Mews when we are visiting friends and family in the area. The friendliest people, really lovely rooms and excellent food, we've never been disappointed by the quality. The fact that it is super dog friendly means we really wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are large, modern yet still have charm. Very comfy beds with excellent linen, good strong showers and have a hairdryer, iron and ironing board as standard. The bar downstairs is traditional and the staff are without exception friendly, helpful and a real credit. You can see they work as a team from the kitchen too. We've never had a bad meal, last night's being a case in point. The honey chilli prawns were glorious and Korean short rib with miso vegetables absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning and thank you once again.

The hotel is in a very convenient position for Ossett Town and that's the reason I return time after time

The breakfast is too early at the weekend, one of our party declined to eat due to the time, there is no breakfast menu to look at and was told on my previous visit there was choice of continental or a bacon or sausage sandwich, apparently this is not true as my friend with us this last weekend was offered toast and eggs, A menu of choice would be helpful.

The staff are fabulous, friendly and very efficient. The hotel very clean and comfortable. My bathroom in room 7 was lovely. Breakfast has everything you need. maybe the yogurts could be in iced water rather than just on the table, especially in summer. Perhaps offer a full english rather than just the hot sandwich idea Dinner portions are big.

Being reminded at the breakfast table I had a bill to settle on checkout.

Very easy to find, plenty of parking, very friendly and super helpful staff. Room clean, modern facilities and well thought out for the space. Food in the pub was gastro pub style and was excellent. Breakfast was simple but again well done. I will more than likely stay there again.

The room was a bit small but it wasn't an issue for me as it had a desk, wardrobe, kettle, bathroom etc. and was well thought out.
