The location was perfect for our needs

Breakfast between 7am and 9am on a Sunday morning, I work early every day and after a night out I like to have a lazy morning 8am to 10am would be more civilised at the weekend. We had asked for a room on the ground floor, this was only possible with an upgrade which we were charged an extra £10 at the property, I was reminded by a member of staff I owed £10 for the upgrade in front of other guests and before we had even ordered breakfast, this is not very professional. I agreed to the upgrade and the price, it would have been nice if I had been allowed to deal with this at check out. I'm not sure what other guests have done in the past but don't tar everyone with the same brush

A little gem in the location. Super room which opened onto a courtyard garden which was lovely. The pub is great. We ate dinner on Friday night and this was really really good- compliments to the chef.

The breakfast vibe was a bit odd. Don’t quite expect to be offered ‘if you’d like something hot we can do you a bacon butty or scrambled egg on toast’. We ignored this and asked for what we wanted and this didn’t seem to be a problem. The service was good though, just all a bit strange. Oh and the tv only has about 2 random channels ( didn’t matter though as the room was so lovely and we just chilled instead)

We love to stay and eat at The Mews when we are visiting friends and family in the area. The friendliest people, really lovely rooms and excellent food, we've never been disappointed by the quality. The fact that it is super dog friendly means we really wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are large, modern yet still have charm. Very comfy beds with excellent linen, good strong showers and have a hairdryer, iron and ironing board as standard. The bar downstairs is traditional and the staff are without exception friendly, helpful and a real credit. You can see they work as a team from the kitchen too. We've never had a bad meal, last night's being a case in point. The honey chilli prawns were glorious and Korean short rib with miso vegetables absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning and thank you once again.

The hotel is in a very convenient position for Ossett Town and that's the reason I return time after time

The breakfast is too early at the weekend, one of our party declined to eat due to the time, there is no breakfast menu to look at and was told on my previous visit there was choice of continental or a bacon or sausage sandwich, apparently this is not true as my friend with us this last weekend was offered toast and eggs, A menu of choice would be helpful.

Very easy to find, plenty of parking, very friendly and super helpful staff. Room clean, modern facilities and well thought out for the space. Food in the pub was gastro pub style and was excellent. Breakfast was simple but again well done. I will more than likely stay there again.

The room was a bit small but it wasn't an issue for me as it had a desk, wardrobe, kettle, bathroom etc. and was well thought out.

This was our second visit after staying last October. The hotel is a short distance from the M1 in the town of Ossett with good, nearby parking in the hotel grounds. The Mews is a small hotel/pub used by locals. Good evening meal with a few other diners and other pleasant people in the bar. All staff very friendly and welcoming - very different from large, anonymous hotel chains. [They don't do the usual full breakfast menu, but adequate for us after the generous proportions of the evening meal.]

when i arrived it wasn't clear to go to check in. One of the guest pointed me in the right direction thankfully. Also I was a bit cold in the room, I have turned the heating on all the way but i think maybe additional heater in the room would be great. FYI I was too tired to go outside and walk to reception to ask for one.

The friendly staff The location near shops and town centre. The delicious food served in the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and served. The room was quiet and comfy. Yet the pub and restaurant were just 10 yards away with plenty of music and buzz. Plenty of free parking for guests .Overall The Mews was excellent. It was exactly an English cottage inn with fabulous staff, excellent food and a very comfy and cosy ambience.

The room was lovely, small but had everything I needed. Was looking forward to my "full English" so was a little disappointed when I was offered a sandwich instead (I am not a morning bread person) and the breakfast service felt a little rushed. The evening staff were so polite, a credit to the hotel.

Offer the full English breakfast. Offer was bacon sandwich, sausage sandwich, scrambled egg on toast or beans on toast. A bit of each on a plate and lose the bread would have worked.

We have stayed here several times before. The rooms are good and the service is excellent. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the bar/restaurant area. Breakfast was good although could have been better.

We stayed on a Sunday night and the restaurant closes early on this day. This is not a problem as there are several other places to eat in Ossett. For the first time, however, we had a room above the bar ... very noisy late into the night! Cooked breakfast is a little unusual. You can have a sausage or bacon sandwich or scrambled egg on toast but not sausage and bacon with scrambled egg!
