The staff and food are exceptional. The service was great but stand out performance from the chef. I do a lot in first class restaurants in London, this is better! Strongly urge anyone to have the scallops starter, possibly the best starter I’ve ever had.

I have a professional eye on design so please forgive my picky nature. The decor doesn’t compliment this beautiful building. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Bin all the dead plants, throw a rug over the old carpet. Unboard the fireplaces. And if you do nothing else I beg, please please go on eBay or even curtain exchange. Buy some preloved quality curtains to compliment the beautiful windows . Would be so lovely for evening dining.sorry to be petty x

Fantastic room with great facilities, bathroom is excellent. Listed building so lots of real old world charm still there. Host Tyler was excellent as was his daughter who served us in the restaurant on Friday night. The food in the restaurant was the best we have had in years and great value, thoroughly recommend booking in whilst you stay there. Halesworth is a great base for exploring that part of Suffolk being also very close to the coast.

Only one thing and it relates to whether you are a light sleeper or not. The church is close by and for some reason they ring the bell for the clock right through the night. It's not the loudest bell but enough that I noticed it, my wife however didn't hear a single thing!!

The building is a beautiful old town house which has a lovely quirky feel to it . The hosts and staff were exceptionally friendly and very accommodating. The food for dinner and breakfast was amazing and of excellent quality . Our room was well equipped , with nice touches like fresh milk and water . provided in the fridge .

Our wet room floor flooded during our shower and the toilet seat was loose and needs tightening which was a little annoying . A little detail to cleaning in public areas like the stairs and landing and the dining room carpets , which looked like they needed a good vacuum and cobweb , a thing I noticed as soon as we arrived and wasn’t done during our 2 night stay , and also the garden looks like it needs a good sort out too as you have to pass through this to get to the carpark and of which our room overlooked .But this did not by any way ruin our stay as the good out-ways the bad massively.

The entire place was lovely from the garden to the room. We had the garden view room and it was lovely. Comfortable bed, lovely table and chairs at the bay window overlooking the garden, which is lovely to have a place to sit and have a coffee and relax in your room. The bathroom was lovely and had a very good shower. Added extras in the room like homemade biscuits sparkling water milk in the fridge for your drinks. Really thoughtful and nice to have. Nice and helpful staff and owner, and the breakfast and drinks were very nice. All round a lovely stay and we would stay again.

We spent a relaxing 3 nights at the Boarding House. Room and ensuite were spacious and comfortable with little extra touches. The linens and towels were of good quality. Breakfast was plentiful and there was a variety of cooked food to choose from. We also ate dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. The service was attentive and our server genuinely wanted us to enjoy our experience. The proprietor Tyler T is an exemplary host and made our stay even more enjoyable.

The king room was very spacious with every detail catered for. Chairs/sofa Tea/coffee fresh milk, water & homemade delicious biscuits and a mini fridge. The bed/ pillows very comfortable. Breakfast excellent choices beautifully presented Wonderful host.

The water from the bath tub tap wasn't very hot. Hourly church bells through the night, but didn't spoil our stay.

Beautiful period property, lovely furnishings and everything you need included. Complementary home made chocolate chip cookies were to die for very convenient location, lovely view of the pretty garden, the hosts/staff were all very friendly and helpful

Shower room floor got very wet, would have benefited from a shower screen, having said that, it did dry quite quickly. Being an old building the floors were creaky, so I was a bit worried when I arrived back late a night that I would wake people - but can’t be helped in a period property.

Fabulous welcome to the boarding house by the owner and team. Striking and beautifully restored building with tonnes of character. Great location to visit suffolk coast and villages. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic, great quality, well presented and an interesting menu of local and seasonal produce. Team are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Huge room, with great touches like fresh milk and home baked cookies. Room had everything we needed and all good quality. We plan to return now we've discovered this gem.

The Boarding House is a restaurant with 3 rooms in the middle of the high street in Halesworth. The building is very old, with many of its original features. The room we were in was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower and an enormous modern bath - far too large for me to try to climb into without steps, being only 5ft tall! The food in the restaurant is superb.

Being in the centre of town surrounded by takeaways there was a fair amount of noise until around midnight.

Tyler is an exceptional host. We had to request an out of hours check in and he went over and above to meet our needs. Our rooms were ready when we needed them to. The breakfast was amazing and the cookies in the room, which I think are homemade, are just sublime. The room is well appointed with everything you need and great care has been taken to make the guests feel at home.

We were only there for one night but would have loved to stay for longer.
