This was a nicely sized space for 1-2 people traveling and exploring Kyoto. The staff were all really nice. The room was very clean, and I especially liked the heated toilet, the bathtub, and the free coffee!! The walk to Nijo Station was only 5 minutes and from there, you can take the express train to Kyoto Station. Generally, the location is very central to the hot spot touristy areas like Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (east), Fushimi Inari Taisha (SW), and Gion District is simply by Kyoto Station. All in all, we had a lovely stay.

The Suzuka Oji of the Stay Sakura Brand is a rather new (or at least that’s how it feels) hotel. The beds were really comfy and the room was nicely designed. There‘s a kitchenette in the room. We didn’t use it for cooking, I think it is too small for that. Reheating meals in the microwave is probably the only thing you can do without messing up the whole room. That being said the kitchenette uses up a lot of the little space, though. Also, we would have loved having a table and some chairs, otherwise you end up sitting on the bed while eating … or you move to the table in the lobby. We made do with the room, all in all it’s a bit narrow - there‘s not a lot of room for suitcases either. But we enjoyed the calm and nice area, the modern amenities, the good connection to public transportation and the helpful service of the staff.

I have had the pleasure of staying at several Stay Sakura locations and have consistently enjoyed my experiences. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms, while small, are comfortable. I particularly appreciate the separate bathroom and shower, as well as the kitchenette. The locations are also very convenient, with close proximity to train stations, bus stops, and local shopping streets like Sanjo, which offer a great opportunity to explore the local shops.

This Stay Sakura is slightly smaller in size compared to others, but it remains an excellent accommodation choice.

The location is good, just 10 min away from the train station. Stuff is friendly, especially the Indian man who helped us with the transfer of the luggage to Tokyo. It was really helpful he spoke English and mostly important, he was keep to help. It is of great help to tourist to know they can use laundry services within the premises, ¥300 is for wash and ¥100 for tumble dry, which is very reasonable. Regarding the facilities, unless you single person in the room, space is insanely tight. Two people can not pass each other in the tiny corridor, the bed occupies the entire room, and there is absolutely NO space for your suitcase - which made us think this was more of a Backpacker space. You may place your suitcase on top of the bar counter designated for tea/coffee, but than you have no space to make tea or coffee or anything else. It is very dissappointing that windows could not be open too for fresh air. We stayed in room 204.

Great modern design, very clean. Room very functional and the bathroom is quite generous. Laundry facilities are available, and the staff was very friendly at all times.

Apart from having to keep your window shut at night because of noise in the street (perhaps I could ask for a room at the back next time), I found the hotel itself very calm and restful which is what you want after sightseeing in a busy city. I think the most outstanding factor was the personnel. Khairul was extremely helpful in my travel needs and local information. His command of English is excellent and he’s such a nice man. Your amenities on offer were excellent i.e. coffee, washing machine-dryer. I also found the kitchenette useful as I was often too tired to go out for dinner. I will be back again.

As noted above just the noise in the street. However, it is very well placed for easy access to the town centre.

We came to this hotel, and a year later, decided to come again during our stay in Kyoto, since it was so good. The location is amazing, really far from the train station, so it's really convenient to move around. It has a market right next to it, in case the two convenience stores were not enough, so you have so many options to get food around. The room had everything what was necessary so you can eat in there and prepare some food.

The beds are individual, next to each other, so the space in the middle may be uncomfortable.

Staff is nice when checking in. Free coffee and tea at lobby. Provide luggage storage after checkout. Close to bus station and Family Mart

Expected to have at least a small table & chair with this room size of 22 sq.m. Other hotels with this size do have table/chair. Provided cooking facility but without a place to sit and eat is a misfortune. cooking bench is also small, no minimum space for 2 plates of food. You have to hold the plate all the way eating when only sitting on the bed. Although the bedding is comfortable we found a bunch of hair at the edge of bed heading under pillows. Fridge is not cold enough even for milk drinks in summer time of 38 C outside. Image what a situation for walking 15 min to hotel with 2 luggages when you cannot squeeze luggages into bus.

The room was clean and comfortable. The service was great from the staff and the fact we could do some laundry was a bonus. Equally the rooms had some cooking facilities, which was nice if you wanted to make a quick snack. The walk to the subway and bus stop was less than 5mins so made for easy access to points of interest.

Nothing, it was an enjoyable stay and they have many hotels in the Kyoto area. I would definitely use this place or another hotel of the same chain again.

Great value. Great location for walking or bus and v close to Nijo (train station/castle). Super comfy bed and perfect private bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. On the downside the dryer for clothes isn’t great for a full wash. There is pretty much no room for storage in the room. You’ll be climbing over your bags if you have any. Some cooking facilities in the room but either stand up to eat there or take it to the space in the reception area. Also we had two side plates for crockery!
