The location of the hotel was excellent - it was opposite the beach and a short walk from a large park that contained three ships! The food was pleasant with some surprisingly tasty options. The room was clean and spacious the bathroom was particularly impressive. Staff were pleasant and professional.

There is not much we would change but there were some minor defects that needed to be repaired and the plates within the breakfast area needed to be checked more thoroughly as I found two plates stuck together with rotting food between them. The staff apologised but it betrayed a lack of thorough checking when washing the plates.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We were looking for a place to relax, and we truly enjoyed our stay. Everything was wonderfully calm – no noise from the street or neighboring rooms. The staff were very kind and helpful. The biggest advantage is definitely the location – just a few steps from a beautiful beach, so we could reach the sea within minutes. Perfect for anyone looking for real rest and relaxation. There's also a direct bus connection from the hotel to the city center's bus station, and from there to the airport. If I had to mention one small thing that could be improved, it would be the lack of fresh vegetables at breakfast. Otherwise, we were completely satisfied and would gladly come back!

Sea view rooms (overlooking the whole bay) are fantastic & well-worth the premium to "watch the world go by". Staff were very friendly, helpful, professional and spoke fluent English. Great location (tourist suburb) with excellent cheap bus service into central Santander (cheap , fast & regular)

My (non sea-view) room had a large pillar in the middle of the floor at the end of the bed which made the room smaller and congested. The aircon was switched off by the hotel "to save energy" and we were told it wasn't needed in April;this left the room feeling stuffy and hot- made worse as it was difficult to keep the windows open.

Very friendly staff, some spoke Spanish and English. Gave me tips on the commute, nearby supermarkets as well as cafe's they liked going to. Room was okay. Nice wardrobe with hangers and a mini-fridge. I came here a few hours early from the usual check-in time due to the flight arrival and they had the room ready which was nice to hear. Late check-out time was a bonus and was needed on the last day. Check out was super quick too.

Unfortunately, I asked for a double bed as per the booking (they accepted the request in advance) but I got given a room with twin beds. Not ideal when you're staying with your partner. Stayed on the sixth floor but the elevator only goes up to the fifth so I had to take the stairs every time. Pictures on the website show the bathrooms all having showers with the tray for the floor but ours had a bathtub which isn't my preference, was a little let down by that to be honest.

Clean and in front of El Sardinero beach, 30 min walk from the city center but the area is without doubt the best: calm, nice and with good bus connections. Staff is really nice and the room was clean. Nice views to the sea, quiet and relaxing. The cafeteria at the ground floor serves good food.

The breakfast can be very much improved. More variety and more offer would be more adequate for the price. The coffee was in my opinion not good.

The location is superb and we had a wonderful view of the beach from our room. The bedroom was comfortable, with a clean modern bathroom

We were disappointed to be charged for a small bottle of water from the mini bar. All the other places we stayed in, including another Silken, offered complimentary water from the mini bar. Only a small point, but it seemed a bit mean for an otherwise nice hotel.

Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. Close to everything, the fabulous beach and lots of nice restaurants. Martha was really friendly and gave us lots of advise on places to go and the best places to eat

Because the rooms are small there was no need for so much furniture in there. There wasn’t room to fit an ironing board

Big cheer for Ruth on reception, who dashed out onto the street and bagged us a free parking space bang outside the hotel. Our room was stunning, the circular one on the fifth floor at the end with panoramic views over the town and the Sardinero beach. Bed was comfortable, bathroom a bit cramped, possibly because of the big towels and bath robes. Shower good, wifi ok.

Breakfast was a disappointment, a small gloomy room inadequate for the number of guests. We were asked to specify a particular slot to attend within the breakfast time frame. The buffet was short of several items, and wasn't topped up regularly. No healthy options, such as unsweetened yogurt or muesli. Not helped by the grumpy attitude of the waiters, who seemed to be feeling the strain of the early shift. Would recommend eating at one of the excellent bars around the corner.

We ate in the cafeteria and it was fine .Did not have set breakfast in Restaurant as thought it rather expensive. Loved the location near the beach. Very friendly staff and efficient.slight problem in the bedroom with the kettle quickly resolved.

Slight problem with the kettle as lead too short for wall plug. Was offered a replacement but didn't bother as it was a minor irritant.

Great stopover for Ferry terminal. lovely sea view room and very comfortable. Lovely big Tv but unfortunately no channels for us to watch except bbc world news.

We only booked a room so decided we’d book breakfast no problem so we thought. When we arrived at the time we’d asked for our names we’re not on the list. We were told we couldn’t have it as we hadn’t booked. ?After an embarrassing exchange of words it was settled and we got our breakfast. Parking is free in all the streets but hard to find a space in them or outside hotel. They do offer a secure garage payable which we used which is in an old apartment block behind the hotel. The garages are tight to get in to. Ours wouldn’t shut or lock with the key we were given.
