Room was large and airy, very quiet, big bathroom with excellent shower, well appointed kitchenette, comfortable bed, nice ambiance, lovely staff and the owner couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Lovely outside terrace on the river that catches the evening sun - lovely for lunch, dinner and or drinks. Abcoude is a lovely village with lots of nice restaurants and small shops. A small Albert Heijn supermarket is just across the road as is 'Ollie's coffee and more' where you can rent bikes and have breakfast and coffee throughout the day - they too couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend a stay at Abbey and cycling in the area of Abcoude - truly stunning. The hotel is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the train station. It took us around 45 minutes to get from Schiphol to Abcoude.

Very quiet location. Nice room with oldstyle home decor. Free car parking nearby (just avoid resident spots marked with blue lines). NS train station 15 min walk from the hotel = 10 minutes to Amsterdam center. Did not have hotel breakfast, bought some pastry at supermarket over the street and made tea and cofee using the kettle and cofee maker at the room.

The room is under roof and does not have AC - was quite hot when we arrived. Fortunately the night was cold and it was very quiet outside so we could leave the windows opened.

The location at the centre of Abcoude is very convenient. The neighbourhood is picturesque and quiet. Bike hire is available at the cafe across the street. The bus and train are nearby. The staff are helpful and professional. The location is perfect for visiting the AMC.

The weather was hot (high summer) and the room can get stuffy during the day.

Very nice rooms, attic lofts, so summer may be warm. We stayed in May, so heat was no issue. Very nice bistro downstairs with very friendly staff, who also handled check-in from the bar area. Rooms had coffeemaker (a few capsules provided), fridge and cutlery. Breakfast served at very nice cafe across the street. Coffee/tea, very large croissant with cheese of jam, plus choice of american style pancakes with fruit or granola and yoghurt. Yummy food -- but coffee was great! Easy connections to both Amsterdam & Utrecht by train at local station. Abcoude is everything a tourist might imagine about a small Dutch town -- criss-crossed by canals and foot paths with more bike traffic than cars. Beautiful historic town.

The room has two stairs inside, which are well-lit and marked, but could cause problems for small children or people with mobility issues. TV said it was "smart", but only Dutch TV was available. We used an Amazon Fire TV dongle I carry with me, but I don't see how it is possible to log in to accounts, like on most newest TVs. So much for minuses of the Abbey...

A spacious, comfortable and interesting beamed room with a small kitchenette including a microwave which allowed us to be cook our own food when we wanted to. The fact that it is in the centre of a small (quite pretty) town with a number of eating places in close proximity, a friendly café for breakfast next door and a good little supermarket across the road. The fact that it was only 10 minutes walk away from the station which allowed us to visit both Amsterdam and Utrecht by train, so avoiding the hassle of city traffic and expensive parking. The host, who was mortified that we were left outside the hotel in almost sub-zero temperatures and a bitter wind for some 25 minutes on arrival because the housekeeper had forgotten to leave the key to the front door in the key safe (and who later apologized to us profusely, adding a complimentary bottle of a very decent wine for good measure).

The abbey is conveniently located near the train station of Abcoude which brings you to Amsterdam within 10 minutes. Next to that, the ambiance of the hotel is great, it is quiet and looks beautiful. The beds are comfortable and facilities such as an airco and tv are available. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Room was very comfortable and well furnished. Handy to have the small kitchenette. Very quaint town and fun to walk around. Having Albert Heijn close by is also very helpful. Recommend the apple dessert with cinnamon ice cream!

In room 5 watch the stairs, they can be a bit confusing in the night.

Starsi in the room - you need to use those to go to the bathroom which is not convenience nor safe during night. But in general very good accommodation.

The room was like an apartment with shower and bath in the en suite and a kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, kettle and coffee machine. Excellent diner at there own restaurant.

Breakfast wasn't available but we were shown where the local supermarket was (across the street) and enjoyed breakfast in the room. Plenty of space to stretch out.

A really nice small hotel. Central in Abcoude. Comfortable room. Good shower. Lovely Outlook over canal/river and bridge. Terrace with seating by the water. Staff all very friendly and helpful. A really good restaurant with great choice of food. Ollies cafe is used for breakfast. A few steps away. Very good breakfast here.
