Location right in the centre of Arundel was great and all the staff we encountered were lovely - very helpful and friendly. The room was quite compact, but fine for a short stay, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. A good cooked breakfast was included in the room rate which felt like a nice bonus. Robes and slippers were unexpected at this price point - we didn’t use them, but some might enjoy!

The bathroom in our room really could do with a complete overhaul - it was small with an awkward layout - the over bath shower wasn’t great and overall it looked rather battered and tired. Would be better to ditch the bath completely and refit as a shower room.

We cannot recommend The Swan Hotel enough. Me and my husband got married in the Town Hall yesterday and had a beautiful reception and stay in The Swan. The staff were all absolutely amazing, very kind and helpful and gave us a beautiful welcome as we arrived from our ceremony. We have been treated with such kindness and grace and could not have a better time! The hotel manager, Beata, has been incredibly helpful and accommodating and so lovely and has done an amazing job with decorations and signs and place cards that have also been specially written by the staff, who are very talented. I come from the Czech Republic and the chef was happy to create a special request meal for us, to honour our traditions and all the food has been delicious. The room we stayed in was beautiful and comfortable and clean with complimentary hot drinks and toiletries. All this was such a reasonable price, considering how amazing the service was. We would recommend this hotel to anybody who would like a wedding reception or just to stay the night when exploring the beautiful town of Arundel.

The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the toiletries provided were good, and included bubble bath as there was a full sized bath. Bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. The tea and coffee facilities were really good with fresh milk offered. The staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived by train and the staff were super nice about me leaving my bag before check-in was available (and also storing it after I checked out).

Service at breakfast was very slow which meant I waited a while to get a pot of tea and place a breakfast order (could have been because there was a large party at another table). However the food, cooked to order, was delicious and hot when it arrived.

Wonderful hotel in an excellent location. I stayed at the Swan Hotel last year, and loved it. This time I brought my partner with me and he was equally impressed! All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful, the room had everything we needed for our short stay, and the breakfast was delicious. Lovely, comfortable bed and nice bathroom, all very clean and with nice touches such as the bathrobes and coffee machine and artisan coffee bags. The hotel is in an ideal location, and Arundel is just the perfect place for a short break. Thank you, we loved it and hope to come back again next year!

The only slight drawback (common to a lot of hotels though), is that we couldn't open the window further, which meant the room did get a bit hot and stuffy. The air conditioning unit was very effective once we worked out how to use it in the middle of the night! Some easily accessible and clear instructions on how to use the it nearby would be helpful. This is a very small thing though, and didn't affect our enjoyment of our stay.

A lovely welcome from Harry on arrival and throughout our stay. I'm afraid I can't recall the names of other staff that we interacted with, apart from Luisa, who was our breakfast server the morning after and took the edge of our hangovers with her lovely manner and sense of humour, not to mention and excellent breakfast, both the buffet and the hot food. We had an amazing dinner the night of our arrival, with steak cooked to perfection and everybody really clued up on gluten free options and precautions for my partner, who is coeliac. Wonderful stay for our anniversary, can't recommend highly enough.

Nothing negative to report whatsoever

The hotel was in an excellent location, and we could leave the car to be able to walk to where we wanted to go to. Breakfast was excellent with lots if choice & freshly cooked. Staff were very pleasant & helpful, especially Yvonne who made sure that we had everything we needed - nothing was too much trouble. She regaled us with her stories & treated us as good friends, rather than just as customers. Accommodation was spotless and very comfortable, with excellent fans in all rooms to tackle the hot weather.

We have stayed at the Swan before and have always had a wonderful vist. The staff doesn't treat you like a customer, they treat you like family. The rooms are clean and comfortable with modern bathrooms. The food in the restaurant is terrific, and the location, right in the heart of Arundel is perfect. You don't need a car if you intend to just explore the town and all it has to offer. Staff members such Yvonne, Ellen, and Rebecca go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. I must add that the Swan's chef is very talented.

If there must be a criticism, and this is only a very minor one, is that the hotel doesn't have parking but right behind it is a public parking lot that only cost a max of 8.80 pounds per day. And it's free from 1800 to 0800 the next morning. As I say, a minor inconvenience, especially with the parking rates many hotels in the rest of the world extort per day.

Good breakfast and very friendly staff. Great location for Arundel and walking distance from the train station. Bed was comfortable and we appreciated the tea making facilities and water provided.

We had a small room which was absolutely fine for us, my only comment is that the small shower wasn't as clean as I would have liked, possibly because its quite hard to get in and out for staff to clean all the way around. The shower also didn't drain well which filled after two showers. Also another mirror above the desk would have been helpful for getting ready as this is where the plug socket is.

Entered the Swan via the busy bar, & immediately welcomed and shown to our room, which was clean, comfortable, quiet, quirky and cozy as described. A little more spacious than expected. Flask of fresh milk and good tea/coffee facilities. Really good breakfast next morning, including options of fresh fruit and pastries. Staff cheerful, friendly and responsive throughout our stay.

The shower room would benefit from a shelf to put toiletries on. Be aware it is an old building with creaky floorboards, which was ok for us on the top floor.....

Amazing location right in the heart of Arundel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and we had a very nice stay which finished with a delicious breakfast! It’s a conveniently located place to stay when visiting the area.

Due to the age of the building the room is quite small which paired with warm summer weather can be a frustrating combination as the windows do not fully open. The hotel provide great fans but these can only help so much when there is little fresh air coming in. Some of the furnishings and cushions could do with a little freshening up but overall the room has all of the essentials.
