The camping pods were small but nice. They were really hot while we were in there in July. So we unplugged the heater and it was better in the pod. So if it is winter time. It will definitely stay warm in there. The kitchen was nice, the bigger kitchen was better than the smaller one. The showers were nice, hot water. Toilets were nice and clean. I would advise to bring your own sleeping bags, pillow, blankets, towels, food, they have an oven, air fryer, microwave in the bigger kitchen works, stove tops, they have pots and pans. Bring your own seasoning, they have a fridge and a kettle. And plenty of sinks to clean your own stuff. They had shared kitchen table area. A grill outside.

A little better airflow for the summer time. Maybe screens on what windows so the midges wouldn't come in. Hot tubs need to be cleaned out, the water was dirty.

Second time that i have stayed here and this time it was even better. We stayed in a Pod for three nights which was lovely and clean and very comfortable. Perfect! We were welcomed by Margherita who was absolutely lovely, as were all the staff that we met. Very friendly and we really enjoyed chatting to her over the nights that we stayed. A bonus on this visit was the fact that the restaurant was open in the evening, so we ended up eating here for the three nights as it was so good. Lovely Lamb goulash soup, fish gratin, lamb stew - just superb. And lovely beers to go with it! Perfect, quiet and beautiful location. We are already planning our return next year and cannot wait to be back.

The pods are really cute, trails/walks around the campsite exceeded my expectation, the place has a lot of character, and the view of the troll falls is beautiful. If you are lucky, you can also see the northern lights!

The only thing is, there is only one bathroom in the whole campsite so sometimes you have to line up and it's kind of stinky :(

We loved Fossatún's crew and his location, bathroom was very clean, our pod was lovely cosy and special Oscar for Hot Tub, great surprise .

Few ameliorations about these leads: Need to be clear about kitchen rules for collective aéra, we saw many people don't care about property, didn't care about dishes.... Collective kitchen is a great option. The little pod (we got the 14th) is really good but tiny a bit. I guess a little "SAS" to put shoes and other stuff could be great 👍

We were blown away by the gorgeous setting, the friendly staff, and by how clean everything was! This was the least expensive stay on our trip around the Ring Road and it turned out to be one of our favorites. Our camping pod for four was charming and comfortable. The bath house and communal areas were incredibly clean and well stocked (including a great vinyl collection!). The dinner and breakfast meals were fabulous. The staff are young, international, and very welcoming. We loved being able to do some lovely walks on the property both at sunset and the next morning. The view of the mountains and that waterfall are hard to beat. Highly recommend a visit to the Hvammsvik Hot Springs (on your way to or from Fossatun). We also enjoyed stopping at the Haafell Goat Sanctuary. Our stay at Fossatun was a very pleasant surprise!

We only stayed one night but wouldn't have minded staying longer! Our family camping pod had plenty of space for my father and me and our bags. I took the big bed, and my dad took one of the twin beds. There was a small refrigerator and table with bench seating, as well as shades on the windows to block out the sun, and we had a little porch with chairs. The heating units worked well. We didn't get a chance to use all of the shared facilities, but the bathrooms were clean, and people seemed to be enjoying the hot tubs. I walked around the Troll Gardens and enjoyed the river nearby. The area was peaceful and quiet. We paid for breakfast, which had several options, and for the linen package, which was appreciated! I also paid to use the washer and dryer to do a small load of laundry. The staff was excellent and very helpful! Thank you for a great stay! (Oh, Borgarnes is not that far away- you can get gas, supplies, and food!)

Great little place to stay. Staff were amazingly helpful. Dinner at the cafe was super tasty. Kitchen facilities were very well presented and had a good range of equipment. Showers were shared and open plan without curtains, so if you're not European, Nordic or comfortable showering in front of others then you will need to choose your time to shower. Alternatively you can ask about the holy shower. Northern light hunting is easy with a short walk up the hill behind the campsite. The trolls were a great theme to explore as well.

Being winter, the pods were cold inside upon check-in. Once the heaters were on the temp was fine, but it took a while to warm up. If the heaters were on prior to our arrival it would have lessoned the temperature shock. Still an amazing place and experience though.

Easy to reach by car, and a great spot to reach Glymur Canyon hike. No noise at night and a cosy home-like feeling when entering the pod. I didn't feel cold at all. Kitchen, bathroom are very convenient. Hot water just works perfectly. The river and its small waterfalls are an amazing spot to watch the sunset !

The door lock of our pod could use a fix, it's loose and doesn't close well. For the price of the night, kind of disappointing.

the shared kitchen worked out well, bathrooms were clean.

I was charged for the mini golf and then they re-imburse you. It may have been my credit card's fault but I was actually charged twice for this, instead of not being charged at all. I am not sure if it has been worked out with credit card company but cc did credit me back. So just check your statement if you do this option. Fossatun did communicate with me and showed a receipt with the refund, but none of my numbers or name on any of the receipts so I could not confirm it was mine.

The pods are great - warm and cosy, sometimes even too warm :) parking space next to the pod is a nice touch, as well as the trees planted thoughtfully bwetween the pod lines. Location is great as a stop for the nearby things to see and some hikes, or when on the route. But the highlight to us were the tubs with the hot springs water! It provided absolutely amazing rest to our muscles after long hikes that we did every day!

1. Showers - I assume possibly too few for the number of people that could be hosted there. Although personally I did not experience that, but I saw people queueing in front of them. Please not that these are also community showers. 2. WiFi - we had a pod in a bit further line from the restaurant, and basically wifi was not working there.
