We stayed here overnight before heading to Alton towers and it was amazing! We had such a good time with our two young children. The staff were lovely, the family room was great and the bed was super comfy! 😊 Dinner and breakfast were delicious especially the pancakes, there was also a continental breakfast which was amazing and had such a good variety. We also opted for a pre packed lunch to bring to Alton towers which was very good value for money. Again the sandwiches were delicious and there was such a wee selection in the lunches. The pork pies were stunning- would highly recommend this place and in fact we are hoping to book again to see the surrounding area! Thanks for a lovely stay and a fabulous night's sleep! 😊

Our room was a comfortable chalet, with a quality bed, a newly fitted out bathroom and ample hot water. A particularly convenient feature was that between 2 chalets there was a carport with an allocated parking space for each chalet. Continental breakfast was included in our room price, and what a splendid spread there was! Cereals, pastries, meats ,cheeses, yoghurts, fruits, jams and spreads. The table was constantly replenished by friendly, hardworking staff. The service and choice at dinner was equally good.

Food was, as last time we stayed 5 years ago, fantastic. We had dinner and breakfast, both excellent and with a great deal of choice. The room wasn't much to look at from outside but once inside, it was warm and comfortable and scrupulously clean. The wifi worked well (and I didn't need to input a password, so that hasn't changed in 5 years either!) 10 minutes drive from Alton Towers, and lovely country air. You can't beat the location. We were at A.T. as it opened, and got on latest attraction Nemesis Reborn with a minimal queue.
Breakfast waiter seemed a little ponderous and not altogether with it, but perhaps he was still learning the ropes. I can't think of anything else that wasn't 100% good.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked and paid for a single person and was given a generous double room with all that I needed for a very comfortable stay. It was great to have undercover parking, and the positioning of the wardrobe (with water heater inside it) in the front vestibule of the unit was perfect for any one who'd been out in the wet and wanted to get their clothing etc dry. The restaurant was attractive, with a beautiful conservatory and garden area.
The step up into the unit was a bit awkward, and the room smelled a little musty - however I had not booked in advance, so they would not have had time to air it prior to my arrival and that probably explains that issue.

Comfortable pub with spacious chalets in the grounds. Easy to find on a busy A road. Warm welcome. Friendly hosts. Excellent, generously portioned dinner and breakfast. Decent beers and wine. Pretty much everything we wanted from an overnight stay. And it’s dog friendly (with a supplement to pay).
Very little to be fair and honest. I found the chalet floor to be really cold despite good carpeting, a decent room heater and other soft furnishings. It was 0 degrees outside though. My wife had a pair of slippers and had no complaints!

Everything! The warm welcome you recieve upon arrival is fantastic! You are made to feel like family and you are very much looked after from the moment you check in! The effort all the staff put into making your stay a memorable one, is second to none!. I have stayed in fair amount of hotels and b&b's over the years, The Dog & Partridge is by far the friendliest place i have ever stayed. You will not be dissapointed whatsoever. The food is fantastic with a wide range of dishes on the menu. Nothing is to much trouble. Many thanks I will certainly be back! Andrew Austin.

Staff were lovely, setting is beautiful, nice old fashioned inn. Rooms were comfortable.
Rooms are a little dated, tv often went "on the bink" meaning having to retune often. Breakfast was continental, which was lovely, but any thing cooked came at extra cost not mentioned at time of booking! With 2 hungry growing sons they needed a decent cooked Breakfast, think this should have been said on the advert not just breakfast included as stated. Also dogs are an extra charge which also wasn't mentioned, so did bump the final bill up considerably.

Lovely pub, full of character. Warm welcome when we arrived and a nice lunch. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the evening meals we had were delicious. Best continental buffet breakfast we have ever seen! Didn’t try the hot breakfast but I am sure that would have been just as good. The room was clean and well equipped and we slept well in a comfortable bed. All of the staff were friendly and helpful - a huge thank you to Charlie for looking after us so well in the restaurant. We have discovered a gem and will definitely return.

Lovely little inn, cosy warm and inviting. Lovely host to meet us on arrival. Our room was lovely, clean, good size and had the most amazing view from the patio doors. Lovely little play area with chickens and rabbits for children. Lovely breakfast. Great location for alton towers. We will definitely be staying again and bringing the grandkids to enjoy the outside in the summer
Not much we didn't like. Only that we didn't realise the breakfast included was only continental, not sure if I missed that before booking. You can upgrade to hot breakfast if you wish. Location is great for alton towers but there's nothing much nearby. We went on a bit of a hunt for a pub to watch football but you can just stay onsite and have food the menu looked lovely. It wouldn't deter us from staying again.

Loved eating my meals in the conservatory. Such a pleasant room in sunshine and rain and I enjoyed all my meals there. The staff were all lovely and helpful. Lots of breakfast choices and an extensive menu for dinner.
Mattress was too hard for me and the quilt was too thick/hot so I folded the quilt into a skinny mattress topper and used my shawl as a blanket and everything was fine. Never did figure out how to turn on the bathroom fan so I just opened the window. Maybe label the switches?
