Great views and location, fast and good room service

My room had cigarette smell in it, even though smoking isn’t permitted. The hotel acted quickly setting up an air purifier. Getting to the lobby and your room can take time as lifts need to travel many floors. After using a glass in my room for a vitamin tablet, I noticed the same glass (not cleaned) back in the draw. It confirmed my thoughts that most room service just wipes out a glass, however the bottom was missed. WiFi available but won’t work for any phone not using a Chinese SIM card

The Grand Hyatt Shanghai was a wonderful stay, possibly the best stay I’ve had. They leave no stone unturned when it comes to amenities in the room and part of the hotel. Staff speak great and clear English, super friendly and always ready to help. Location wise, also phenomenal with a great view to the bund each morning. One of the highlights of my entire trip was staying here. Would highly recommend and would be coming back myself if I’m ever in Shanghai again.

Gym could do with a bit more weight equipment and machines, but then again it’s a hotel gym and not a body building gym.

The reception and service are really nice they are attentive and try to accommodate those who don't speak Chinese.. the porters also always attended to me whenever I carried luggage and . The immediate access to the foot bridge and close access to two malls is very convenient.

I once found a small bug in the bathroom but it was once in 4 day stay. The metro stations are a little bit far. I also didn't find clearly the shops and cafes clearly marked i stayed four nights but I didn't see the Starbucks and luckin Cafe mentioned.

Excellent location, lovely swimming pool with sauna, steam room, very large jacuzzi, cold and hot plunge pools opened up till 22:00. We went to the observation deck on the 88th floor, and enjoyed to outstanding views to the skyline. this is opened up till 9:30pm when the lights on the towers and TV tower go off in Shanghai. Such a shame that the view from the bedroom don't provide lit up atmosphere of the city after 9:30-10:00pm

I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded me to a SUITE with a river view, despite traveling solo during peak season. This gesture of hospitality truly made my stay exceptional. As someone who has experienced many luxurious hotels around the world, I can say that this hotel stands out. The breakfast buffet was above average, with a nice variety of options. The hotel divided the buffet into two areas - one for Chinese cuisine and one for Western fare. While the Western side offered a better view in my opinion, the overall selection and quality of the breakfast spread was more than sufficient.

Coffee quality was a bit disappointing when compared to other 5-star hotels I’ve visited.

We arrived around 1:30 am at hotel (due to delay in our flight); finding the right door to enter the hotel area was not easy at that time. The check-in process was fast and efficient; I asked for 2 hours of late check-out, it was approved at check-in which was very helpful. The stunning view, well-decorated and modern rooms, quietness, and easy access to lobby... were all the positive points of this short stay. The check-out process also was done very efficiently.

Finding the right entrance to hotel area in the large building at very late night was a challenge. The hotel needs to put more info in English (larger fonts...) for the guests who arrive late.

We arrived 1pm after long flight they didn’t let me in until 3 pm + i was carrying my luggage! And the reception guy who did the check in didn’t ask if i need help i was carrying 5 bags!! Until i asked them to take care of it !!!

The beds, the view

Hardly anybody spoke english, ordering room service was difficult and took an unexpected length of time, at breakfast the waiters hardly understood “coffee”, check-in is arduous if there are people in front. There were always huge groups of people. The lifts were always full and it took a long while to get to the desired floor. It was even difficult ordering a taxi from them. It’s just too big. Not too much attention given to tourists. Windows in room with such a fab view were really dirty.

Great Location in the heart of the Business Center and panoramic view over the Huangpu river and the old part of Shanghai. Nice big room with different commodities.

The fact that they charged me for breakfast but when arrived for checking they told me it’s not included. Even with the confirmation presented at the front desk they wouldn’t offer it and still charged me. That’s low.

The location is really great and the view from the bedroom amazing. I loved the breakfast which is really suitable and very varied and the dining room offers a pleasant view in the morning. In the same tower, you also have access to the bar which is located on the top floors and in the evening, you can treat yourself to a pleasant moment and contemplate Shanghai by night. the gym is well equipped and the sauna gave me a very pleasant break.

It's a bit of a shame that the metro is a bit of a walk away and you have to use the foot bridges to get there. In rainy weather it is moderately pleasant. The other side, a little less positive, is the standardized side, but at least you are sure to find the expected comfort. This is the second time I've been there and probably not the last.
