Hotel is great! Really classy and luxurious. We got an upgrade to a better room, and it had beautifull city view and big tub. Room also had a shower cabin, sofa, office desk and nice chair, comfy bed, walk in closet, two big LCD TVs and one small for the bathroom. Breakfast offered various and delicious food.

Pool and spa area were out of service. :(

The breakfast room was very nice and a beautiful spread but way too expensive, I’ve never paid that much for breakfast anywhere in the world. The room was very comfortable and quiet and the bed was lovely as was the bathroom, also a great view from the window, I could see Shanghai tower in the distance.

I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a coffee shop in the hotel, I arrived early evening and wanted a light meal and drink and there was nothing, never known that in a 5 star hotel. When the hotel was built it must have been very luxurious and stylish, but sadly many things are now well past there best, the carpet in my room was badly worn and full of holes, same as the furniture, chipped and scratched everywhere, such a shame as it could be a great hotel, but needs money spending on re- furbishment. Overall on my trip to China I found people very nice and friendly except the staff in the hotel, I walked in and out of the lobby 20 times or so and not once did the concierge or all the other that seemed to fill the lobby acknowledge me at all, no friendly welcome or goodbye greeting at all.

Great value for money. Perfect location right next to the metro. Friendly staff.

Indoor pool was still closed due to Covid. Even though it’s now May 2025. I emailed requesting a late check in, but never heard back. So emailed them again. Still no reply. Was worried they were going to cancel the booking thinking I had no showed. However, when I arrived my booking was still there and everything was fine :)

Loved almost everything of the Eton Hotel Shanghai, including the size of the room (looks like I got a free upgrade) and its strategic location (very close to small stores and a metro station). Front desk staff was very helpful and courteous to meet all our needs. Will definitely stay here again if I happen to visit Shanghai in the future

The Eton Hotel Shanghai could have provided more food options on the breakfast, especially the Asian buffet options (more cooked proteins). But overall, breakfast already met the least required standard

When collecting the room card, the staff was not very welcoming. There was no greeting or warm reception upon arrival, which was disappointing given the hotel's high ratings—I expected more friendliness from the staff overall. When ordering take-out, our previous hotel (with fewer stars) had lobby staff who would deliver the food to the room. Here, you have to go down yourself to collect it.

Breakfast was good for me. I stayed in the hotel for about a week and I was not sick of the food. There was a wide selection of breakfast options ranging from chinese to western. The room was comfortable as well and I was able to see a great view of the bund area from my window.

Room service was great and efficient and the staff were really friendly. However, room service came quite early even before I left the room for the day.

After couple days the bathroom kind of smelled because they didn’t have option to open windows and the air insulation was not strong to take the air out but other than that it was fantastic and safe. Had no trouble great lifts. No swimming pool sadly.

Near to metro. The room was clean and spacious and also have nice view. Below got few shop to eat and drinks. Family mart, mixue, luckin coffee and manner coffee. Nearby got few shop too.

The front liner not very friendly. My bed got sound when move left n right. I got no room to change also. Room light very dim so some corner are very dark.

Hotel room is big and clean. It is near the river, can walk over for nice river view. Breakfast is great with lots of variety.

Room has only 3 electrical plug. 1st night met with short circuit in my room. However maintenance respond with quick repair. So everything is great for my 5 nights stay.

We requested hotel staff for a Taxi on 18Oct at 0230 hrs from Hotel to Airport. They staff hired a taxi with double price. As it was the last day in china we offered to pay by Dollar. The Taxi Driver agreed. Reaching the airport the driver return money (400 Cny). And 200 CNY were fake notes. That is very shocking experience from a star rated hotel. They must have fair deals about taxi drivers and ensure the safety of the guests.
