Very nice rooms in this hotel where you sleep between the 30th and the 48th floor. If you are lucky, you enjoy a superb view from your room on Pudong skyscrappers. Very quiet due to the height of the building. The breakfast is affordable and given on the 50th floor at the revolving restaurant, wonderful view and a big selection of dishes. The rooms are large, and modern. Superb swimming pool too. The hotel seems to be a bit far from downtown but it takes 10 mn with the underground and the streets nearby the hotel are very quiet and this is nice to stay in a peaceful area after visiting the city. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance and a small shopping mall is at the feet of the hotel with multiple cafes and a supermarket. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Staying at Novotel Shanghai was nothing short of incredible. The location is absolutely amazing—perfect for exploring the city and soaking in everything Shanghai has to offer. The breakfast at the revolving restaurant? Simply stunning. Starting my day with a panoramic view of the city skyline while enjoying a delicious and varied breakfast was a highlight I’ll never forget. The service was flawless from start to finish. Every member of staff I encountered seemed genuinely eager to help and always ready to go the extra mile to make my stay perfect. That kind of hospitality really makes a difference. I was blown away by the room I was given—a spacious corner suite on the 35th floor with breathtaking views of both the river and the Bund. It honestly made my Shanghai experience unforgettable. The free laundry service for guests was such a thoughtful and practical touch, especially for travelers on longer trips. I also made time to relax at the spa and swimming pool, which were just as luxurious and well-kept as the rest of the hotel. This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I’ll definitely be back!

If I had to nitpick, I’d say the TV image quality could use a little upgrade—it seemed a bit blurred, possibly due to a low-speed connection. But honestly, with Shanghai at your feet, who needs to spend time watching TV?

Our room was wonderful, much bigger than expected and with a beautiful, almost 180º view of the surroundings that was breathtaking both during the day and at night. Both the hotel overall and our room were also very well maintained and cleaned and the cleaning staff was very nice. The amenities of the hotel are also quite good with a decently sized pool and gym, beautiful locker room area for the pool, a nice terrace and social hangout area. Location-wise it was very close to the subway station and pretty central, for the most part.

The breakfast was okay but not really worth the money, the food didn't feel very fresh or well seasoned, it was a bit of a disappointing experience. Also, the experience with the staff was very hit or miss, sometimes they could very nice and helpful while other times they were quite grumpy. Additionally, a big percentage of the staff didn't really speak much English, which would be understandable in a small hostel in a minor city but not in a 4* hotel in Shanghai.

Very comfortable, good unobstructed views, big breakfast, easy to reach from SHA airport but by taxi, which is quite cheap. Do not even attempt public transportation which will take more time. Excellent toiletries, nice bathroom with a super modern bidet

Very hectic, fully booked in August, the staff were overwhelmed by tourist demands. they did try to answer all our requests but it was very busy. If you own any US devices you will need a VPN to use wifi anywhere in Chinax including hotels. Tmobile roaming works but if you want wifi a VPN is a must.

Location. Restaurant view and food also staff friendly and understanding. My flight was delayed and although I have book for 2days they charge me only for one day as I arrive by the second day

I can honestly say that this was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Got a very nice room with a view of the whole Pudong area and the skyscrapers at The Bund. Free breakfasts at the rotating restaurant at the 50th floor were another great thing. Also it’s really convenient to get to this hotel, either by public transportation or on foot

The doors to the bathroom didn’t close (it looked like something was off with the door frame/hinges) and one of the tiles in the bathroom was loose. It’s a really small complaint and it didn’t really bother me that much, but it might bother others

I had a very positive experience during my recent stay at this hotel. The service was efficient, and the staff were consistently professional and helpful. I would like to highlight Ines from the reception, who handled both my check-in and check-out. She was organized, attentive, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Her calm and professional attitude was much appreciated. I also want to mention Rainbow Zhao, who was involved in both the coffee break service and at the reception. She was proactive, polite, and always ready to assist wherever needed. Her flexibility and dedication didn’t go unnoticed. Thanks to the efforts of Ines and Rainbow Zhao, my stay was comfortable and well taken care of.

Its was smelling smoke in the bedroom Missing maintanance in some itens as well.

This was the perfect hotel for our stay, the room was comfortable and clean, and housekeeping excellent Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices. Next door is a small mall with a supermarket and various eateries which is convenient and the hotel is only 5 mins from a metro station although if you enjoy walking Lujiazu is only a 30 minute walk away. All in all this was a great hotel to stay at for our 6 nights in Shanghai. Nearly forgot, the view from our room was amazing, and the staff were really helpful.

A very small detail, but the shower window was a bit strange, not seen that at any other hotel before.

I stayed at the Novel Hotel in Shanghai for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The cleaning was exceptional - my room was always fresh and well -maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and pleasant, providing warm and helpful service throughout my stay. While I only had breakfast at the hotel, the nice restaurant at the top of the building offered a great start to each day with delicious food and a beautiful city view. The combination of comfort, hospitality, and a relaxing atmosphere made my stay truly enjoyable. I would happily return and recommend this hotel to others! Thanks Tony Liu !

This hotel was a bit of a splurge for me, as a budget traveler, but definitely worth it and a good value for the area! The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, and the view of the Pudong side of the river with its iconic skyscrapers was incredible! In the not-currently-revolving restaurant on the 50th floor, I enjoyed both the evening "happy hour" (buffet & open bar for ~$12 USD, which was enough for dinner) and the plentiful breakfast buffet, included in the room rate. (See sunrise photo taken from restaurant.) The staff were friendly and helpful, spoke English well, and allowed me a late checkout at no extra charge. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.
