Super place to stay. Not your typical Holiday Inn. We think this is the best place to stay in Miyazaki, which is actually in Aoshima, or right next to it, and I think much better place to stay than the huge city of Miyazaki proper. The Ana hotel is right on the ocean with a great walk through the ocean park along the beach to the Island of Aoshima with a beautiful shrine and walk around the island. Check out the nearby Boranical Gardens. Watched dozens of surfers each morning out in the big surf from our 7th floor room. Spectacular views. Room was big and very comfortable. Furniture was in good condition, appropriately a bit older style to match the decor off the hotel. Well-kept and extensive fountain and garden grounds outside the hotel. Staff is great, with some good English speakers. They have accurate bus connection information (stops right at the hotel). Eat tasty fresh oysters you grill at your table at the Fisherman's Coop in town. Food delivered to your table by robot! Several food trucks near the beach. Also a restaurant by the beach public foot bath will cook seafood for you in natural hot water. Perfect!

We had a long-standing booking for room with a view, and were provided with a premium room on the top floor in one of the best viewing positions. All staff were more than helpful, and as accommodating as possible for all requests (perfume-free room and gluten free breakfast options). The outdoor showers were great for washing down after going to the beach, as are the small towels at the door.

The only thing which could have been better was the breakfast options. This comment is only made because we'd recently had breakfast at the ANA in Nagasaki and, though the two mostly had the same food options, Nagasaki had more greens (broccoli, eg), bean, fruit and juice options than ANA in Miyazaki. The breakfast was extremely good, nonetheless.

This is a calm spot in front of the beach. We paid 110 a night for a room on one of the two top floor. Sure this hostel is old but our room was spotless!

Some people did not follow the rules like smoking or keeping the ice bucket...There is also some building disfunction probably because of its age. (For instance you can't open your windows while its windy because it'll make your door clack a lot...) but overall its all minor/irelevant stuff, especialy at this price tag.

All rooms have a front sea view where you can enjoy the sunrise early morning. Ideally located with direct access to the beach and running tracks and all surrounding touristic places. Onsen facilities are exceptional and very well maintained. A delight. Lots of parking space infront and immediately close to the hotel

Rooms are very spacious but getting old. The hotel is under renovation.We could not access the swimming pool during our stay. Quite a drive to reach Miyazaki but still have few restaurants about 1-2 kms away.

View was a 10. We had ocean view. Nice walking paths to Aoshima island with the Ogre's rock washboards. Great to see people surfing from our room. Nice free parking. Buffet dinner was very good. Great English speaking concierge staff who went over and above.

Dated bathroom. During our stay, only 2 restaurants in the hotel were open and the Chinee restaurant was booked. then the Chinese restaurant was closed for the next two nights for their regular closing days, leaving only 1 restaurant open the next night; instead of eating the dinner buffet again, and not having good restaurants surrounding the hotel (the best one was booked on one night and was closed for the next night; most restaurants close on Wednesdays), we ended up buying fast food from Lawsons/7 Eleven for one dinner.

Wow! Amazing location right on the water. It absolutely reminded us of being in "Hawaii" at a fraction of the cost. The breakfast was also an exceptional fusion of western and eastern classics (including some of the most delicious croissants we've ever had). Location also has an on-site store featuring many local Miyazaki specialties and allowed us to conveniently sample many items. The on-site Onsen was also easy to use and very relaxing. The hotel features western (bed) and eastern (tatami) rooms.

Parking is limited. We were lucky, but almost had to park off-site. Check-in and check-out processes were a bit too lengthy and could be improved. I would prefer to pay in full ahead of time and then quickly be able to drop the key off at check-out, however we had to wait in line for both processes and there was only one attendant each time.

The room is spacious, and the hotel is conveniently located just by the sea. There’s an ice and drink vending machine near the rooms’ lift lobby, which is a great and convenient feature. Bed is comfortable and staffs are friendly. You can park your car at the lots opposite the hotel which they will help to pay when the parking space are full outside the hotel

Breakfast choice can have more international food

Terrific location, our room overlooked the pool, gardens and oceanfront which we could enjoy from armchairs. Our room was very spacious and would comfortably fit a family of 4. Breakfast was very busy but food was replenished with many options. Nice onsen facility with sauna and baths of different temperatures.

The picture window in the room was sliding (even though you must not open it) so with the strong wind it rattled and screeched loudly waking us up very early in the morning. We were exhausted after travelling 16 hours so did not appreciate this.

We’ve stayed there more than 30 times. It is our home away from home. Obviously we love it. The view from almost any room is gorgeous. Walk out the door and you’re right on the beach. The kids love it all year round. This time we stayed in a Japanese style room with beds. It was very clean and comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The premium coffee maker in the room was a nice treat. We’ll be headed back next week for more swimming, surfing, walls on the beach, breathtaking views and good food.

Pool closed most of the year is disappointing. It is such a nice pool. Quite a bit of wall damage in the halls poorly painted over.

They have a nice indoor pool but only available in summer, I think that it could be nice for the rainy or cold dats with the kids. The room could be cleaner The bikes they need some maintenance
