Room was clean and kept in good condition. Everything was comfortable or functional, and it had all the space we needed to store bags, clothes and all our bathroom stuff. The whole hotel, including the room, had a lovely character and feel about it. Maria, the receptionist during our stay, was very friendly and very helpful. She knows a lot of the locals, so is well placed to suggest days out and trips etc. Breakfast was well done, with enough choice to keep us happy, and if you need a bit to eat after a long day, they will prepare some basic food for you too (please note, the restaurant next door which you can see on some maps has closed). The cloister is still attached to a working church, so there are bells and weddings etc. However, the bells don't go off at unsociable hours, and you are shielded from the noise of church events due to the location of the rooms. Massa Lubrense is not the tourist town that neighbouring Sorrento is - it has more locals than hotels, and the shops and restaurants reflect this. Also, the hotel is on a hill so getting up and down into town requires a bit of effort. However, I had probably the best pasta of my life in Pulecenella, a rustic, local family restaurant in town.

There isn't much we didn't like. The location of the hotel made it more tricky to go out for dinner, but we had a couple of wonderful evenings on the balcony, watching the sunset with some bread, ham and cheese from local shops.

The property was really different & quite. Maria who was the host was extremely helpful & sweet. She helped us out with the scooter renting, suggestion on where to go & even helped with our Capri boat tour booking. The breakfast spread was great & she made us the fluffiest omelete every morning. She engaged with us before we arrived & guided us on how to reach the stay & was always available on whatsapp for any help.

The rooms are on the first floor & if you have heavy bags it's difficult to climb the steep stairs.

Every single detail was perfect. The place was breathtaking, beautiful rooms, beautiful enterance and breakfast place. The view from terace looked like a painting. Clean rooms, everything we needed, room service 10/10. The staff was amazing, we were greeted by Maria, she helpef us with everything, booked our boat tours, showed the facilities, told us about the city and the best places to visit. All I can say, for everyone, that wants to feel the real Italy, needs to go there. I wish to come back there.

Everything was perfect.

⭐️ Absolutely amazing ! Super charming atmosphere, one of a kind stays. 🛌 Rooms - super comfortable, 🗺️ Location -away from chaos with amazing views and sunsets ! ( tips - free beach 10 min drive to Nerano and search “Spiaggia delle monache” I recommend parking car in near by camping area as it was only 10€ per day ! And for the beach follow “La Perla” bar signs ) 🚗 Parking - always available 👑 Staff super friendly and accommodating!

Only stayed for 2 nights 😭 should have booked more ! ❤️

We arrived late at night but check-in was easy. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. Being next to a church and in a historic building it has a special vibe. There is a beautiful internal garden with lemon trees and a big terrace with wonderful views. We like to have a big breakfast with great variety and we got just that - it was excellent with a great selection. It's a pity we only stayed one night. The wifi worked well too.

Nothing, everything was great.

The property is unique and staying in a monastery brings a kind of peace to the already tranquil atmosphere. It’s also very well kept with cleans and comfortable rooms that have been modernized since the monks slept in them. They also have a great security system which makes you feel even more at ease (even though it’s an incredible safe area).

Honestly it’s a huge reach but for the sake of honesty, the only thing I didn’t love was the cappuccino in the morning. It was just OK.

Maria the receptionist was wonderful and welcoming. So very kind. Beautiful old building attached to a functioning church up high in Masa Lubrense. It has an amazing rooftop terrance overlooking the ocean with clear views of Capri and Napoli which was OUTSTANDING. Take your breakfast up and enjoy!

The bathroom was a little small without a window and the abduction fan wasn’t great which meant we had to open a window from time to time which can ruin a certain mood.

Breakfast was very good served with a smile each day, with fresh fruits and cakes as well as cold meats & cheese or freshly made omelettes. Fruit juices and tea or coffee. The location is great for touring the whole Bay of Naples area with easy free parking available. The entrance to the rooms through the original cloisters of the convent is very atmospheric. Wifi works very well and plenty of information was given by Antonio and backed up with WhatsApp messages throughout our stay.

An amazing older building located in a church, with a spectacular terrace overlooking the whole area. Room was cosy and functional and the staff were very accommodating to dietary requirements and helpful with information on the area / tours

Little bit hard to find in terms of signage, and is out of the way a bit so limited on food options unless your willing to go to Sorrento (if you have a car this is not an issue)

We felt very comfortable in the time-honored ambience of that monastery in mid-March 2023. The magnificent view from the roof terrace is spectacular, which we enjoyed every day. The central location of that accommodation is ideal for exploring both the Amalfi Coast and Naples, including Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Hikes are also attractive, e.g. on the well-known ‘Path of the Gods’. Unfortunately, this tour was heavily frequented in early season, already. For those who prefer a quieter environment the no less charming coast of the Sorrento Peninsula is strongly recommended, which is near. The small port of Massa Lubrense is also ideal for short boat trips to Capri. Although, we arrived Relais il chiostro much too early, we were warmly welcomed by Antonio and could check-in, immediately. Moreover, he gave us many valuable tips for dinners in the vicinity of Relais il chiostro, which all convinced us. We also enjoyed the varied breakfast served by Juicy & Arianna overlooking the courtyard planted with orange trees. Hospitality and helpfulness were exemplary throughout the stay. This was not least due to Sabrina, who is the proverbial ‘good spirit’ of Relais il chiostro. The cost/performance ratio of Relais il chiostro is fair.

It should be clear to every guest in advance that in such a hoar monastery refurbishment has reached its structural limits. This applies to the small shower, for example. Despite of my size of about 1.88 m and my weight beyond 100 kg, I was able to come to terms with these conditions.
