Very affordable accommodation which is kind of in the middle of nowhere, quite a way out of town - you really feel like you're in the country. It was pouring rain most of the time we were there but nevertheless it's in a beautiful setting and the view from the room out the back was quite stunning. I love how dark it is. So many motels leave bright lights on all night, but here you control your own outside light and it was extra dark - a real plus. The family room is spacious with separate rooms, WiFi good, and this was one of the few places we stayed with a smart TV and Netflix. (great for a rainy evening!).

If you're looking for somewhere central, this is not it! It's a 10 minute drive into Taumaranui. It's not as quiet as the location may suggest as it's in a 100km/h zone on the highway and trucks do roar past (Had no trouble sleeping though). The only significant issue was that no soap or shampoo was provided, but fortunately we had our own.

Great service. Jenny is very thoughtful welcoming and helpfull. She thinks of the little things that make a difference in comparison to other Motels I have stayed in such as turning the heat pump on so when I arrive the room is lovely and warm. I won't stay anywhere else when I'm working in Taumarunui. The unit is spotless, the bed is comfortable and the shower pressure is amazing. The unit has everything I need.

I have no issues with my stay, in fact I would have liked to have stayed longer. That's why I will always choose to stay here over any other Motel in Taumaranui

We liked everything! The only thing that could have been improved was the dining chairs - we had to use our pillows as cushions. Didn't notice any traffic noise to complain about, everything was clean and tidy, there were ample 'extras', like coffee, tea, hot choc drinks, milk.

Just the dining chairs, needing more padding. Everything else was totally as expected, and good value for money. The shower was complicated! But great - great strength and hot!

Easy access and easy to find. A covered car park available just in front of each studio makes it really easy and enjoyable. The studio is spacious and the kitchen got all you need for a week-end. A very handy converter, comfortable beds, nice shower with warm water all the way. It's close to the road and you could hear some trucks over the night, but I slept through with no problem. I liked the view of the livestock next door.

The classic double tap for hot and cold water instead of a single mixer is very painful. Also very kiwi tho! The livestock could bring some flies, but the owners are managing it very well. I had only one in the room. That's nothing!

We were lucky and were uograded, though both suites were nice. The lady owner was very nice and good communication. Great view from our balcony :-)

Overall our experience was awesome, beautiful views, rooms were great. In need of kitchen floor to be scrubbed and also toilet to be cleaned properly. I cleaned toilet and it looked better but needed bleach and removed cobweb. I'm not complaining though and really enjoyed the staff and my stay :-)

Stayed because of proximity to event we were attending. Noise from road not an issue for us as we were exhausted and slept through the highway traffic. Suggest that if noise is an issue then ensure you have ear plugs or noise canceling ear buds. Good location, family unit perfect for our whanau - everyone able to have their own space but still able to be together in the evening for dinner and whakawhanaungatanga.

Supplied everything a family would need :) The bed was soooo comfy and the shower absolute top notch pressure!

The fact I couldn't change my booking, so ended up paying full family price for just myself despite trying to make the change within a couple of hours. Mahoe told me to do so online at booking.com but I searched for so long and gave up. Then booking.com replied to my email AFTER my stay saying they've emailed Mahoe as it's up to them to use their discretion. So unfortunately that was a fail lol

We enjoyed our stay, air con was on making our room nice and cool as it was very warm on arrival. Jenny was so friendly and accommodating she was absolutely charming let us know where good places to eat and would pop in for chat she even went back into town to get more soaps they were selling at reception for us, made locally. We wanted somewhere to lay our head, shower, come and go as we pleased and this place was everything we needed, the beds were comfy as and the shower never run out of hot water, we all loved and enjoyed our stay.

I remember it had a restaurant to it so what a disappointment this is no longer running we would have loved to have supported this and eat there after we come back from visiting whānau.

An older motel, but everything was working, looks very presentable inside, with aircon (very handy!), decent size kitchen, and covered parking, which was great unloading the car as it was raining at the time.

Close to a busy road, with lots of heavy trucks travelling past well into the night. It was also a distance back to town, and there is nothing you can walk to. Fine if you have a car.

Thank you for offering a realistic priced self contained motel close to both town and the Timber Trail. We were super comfortable with the layout and space. Having two seperate bedrooms for a group of 5 was absolutely brilliant. Fantastic communication from owner Jenny before arriving. Could not have asked for more.. thanks so much!
