Wow what can i say or where do i start... The owner and staff were absolutely awesome . They were friendly and go out of there way for their guests...The place is very clean with plenty of space .There are many things to do for children. from volley ball to riding bikes and other things. There are thermal pools up the road from the Lodge and Turangi is just a 5 min drive .Theres a 5 minute track walk or a longer walk if you want ...This place is one place where you can go to relax and have fun with yourvfamily....

There is a thermal pool on site but unfortunately we couldnt use it due to it being under construction but it was ok everything was still perfect.....

As I have said previously, this is our go to place! We have been coming for many years. The new owner has been making many changes in the short time she has been here. Playgound fenced off for tamariki, bbq area put in...(always had one, now readilly accessible), she getting the pool up and running again. Nexts years stay will be epic, Good on you Rachel and team! We were super happy to see you full with a no vacancy sign!!! We understand you are only, what 14months into ownership, fixing things takes time in these places. A wobbbly shelf here doesnt make too much of a difference, It was confortable for what we needed. Hoses everywhere is a sign of you guys rocking on despite of the recent flooding, and doing the best for your clients to have a comfortable stay..

The location, the room fit all of us we are a family of 7 a lot of accomodations are unable to fit all of us in one room/villa Very affordable, the owner is very helpful, friendly, we have previously stayed here when there was different owners, the rooms are nice and clean and upgrades have been done. A fenced off kids/family/bbq/play area has been made it's very homely and welcoming.. Some facilities are and have been upgraded the new additions are awesome! Awesome place to bring your family to relax. A hot pool down the road. The clearest water to watch rainbow trout. We will be returning boxing day! We can't wait !

We stayed 3 nights Bed was very comfy, warm and good pillows as well with extras in each room good bonus. Kitchen had what we needed. Enough space for our party of 5, our 3 kids slept upstairs and we took the main bedroom close to bathroom, with still a room to spare that could fit another 3 people. Location was great we really enjoy staying in Tokaanu over Turangi. It was literally a 1 min drive or 5 min walk to the Tokaanu hot pools, and a 5 min drive to Turangi. and a half hour drive to Whakapapa ski field so perfect location for us. Wifi was good us adults didn't use it but kept the kids entertained. Recycling and rubbish outside our door was great There was an outdoor area that looked great but we had bad weather but perfect for getting kids out of the house electric blankets on all downstairs beds which was nice heat pump worked well! and hot air rises too the upstairs was always warm for the kids we were able to get towels when we needed esp to use for hot pools no extra charge

-only one washing machine and dryer with a family of 5 this took us a while luckily noone else was using the facilities when we were -we had a few lights not working properly in our suite but nothing that hindered our stay -running out of hot water at the end of the day. We just really limited our showers at night. - table chairs and couch a bit run down but things you can look past and just make the most of

The guy running the place… legendary. Asked about a common are with a bbq for my daughter and I to cook dinner on, and he ended up sourcing one from another unit, bring it to our balcony, setting it all up with a gas bottle then bringing a basket full of utensils, boards, tea towels and oil. That’s proper hospitable service. Quite a rarity these days and I’m glad that we booked this charming old place. Would recommend, especially if you want a break from your kids… There’s a trampoline and a cubby house that kept both my daughter and another child busy for hours in the afternoon and the following morning prior to check out.

There’s a major road right next to the units. Traffic is noisy throughout the day but that’s not the fault of the business, at all. Also, the pool wasn’t available for use, which was unfortunate. The Tokaanu Thermal Pools are literally a few mins walk up the road, though.

We have stayed here several times over the last few years and this trip we noticed a massive change for the better now that it's under new management.Our host was very nice and polite and offered any assistance if needed. The room was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen and dining area. Bathroom was very clean and a good size. Smart tv and comfortable lounge. Warm and cosy living area and the beds were super comfortable. A short drive to Turangi for supplies and a short walk to the thermal pools.

There was nothing we didn't like, it's better now than we've experienced in the past. The onsite thermal pools were not operational this time as some repairs to the bore were required. This is no fault of the owner/host

Pools were not hot enough. Not enough toilet paper for the amount of females in our room but we were able to get more from reception. larger sized pots would be helpful. Cleaning Not done behind beds upstairs Naim road was very noisey Would loved to have seen a long mirror

We stayed just one night with our little family and really enjoyed it. The place was warm, clean, and cozy – perfect for a cold night. There’s a hot spa pool (which we didn’t use but nice to have), lots of extra beds upstairs for bigger groups, and convenient parking right outside. We also loved the vintage pictures on the walls – such a nice touch! Highly recommended for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

The room size and facilities were well suited for my family. Location was ideal for us and the motel is literally a 3min drive OR 7min walk to the hot pools up the road. Upon arrival we were greeted by the maintenance guy Roscoe - he was super pleasant to deal with always greeted us with a smile as did the owner she was lovely also.

The creakiness in the upstairs floorboards. My husband and I were sleeping downstairs while our children were upstairs. Every time they walked the floorboards creaked so loud that it woke us up multiple times.

Really homely feel, dated units but reminded me of my Grandma's so love it. Great value for money. Close to the road and could hear the trucks at night but we all slept through, so not really an issue, bugs at night would fly in but we learnt to turn the lights off at night. Little things I could moan about but honestly we loved our stay. Would definitely be back. Thank you ❤️
