Our stay for two nights was perfect. We all enjoyed the spacious room. Had everything you needed in the kitchen and other rooms. Basic but very pleasant. Was quite considering we were next to highway. Good location just down the road from township, easy to walk too. Had a great carport which we put the jetski in and still plenty areas to park the ute. Enjoyed it and will be back when we bring jetski up again to the lake! Staff are great too! My son loved their dog!

We’re regular visitors, breaking the journey from Wellington to Auckland. We love the relaxed vibe, especially when travelling with a dog. The proprietors are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is great, easy to find off SH1 and an easy walk to the fabulous Tongariro River, making it a particular hit with fly-fishers. It’s an older motel, so not necessarily state-of-the-art when it comes to all the facilities, but it’s always clean and comfortable, has everything we need and is a very welcome break from the road.

The motel is situated close to Turangi and it is a short drive to the local shops including petrol/supermarket/great bakery. We found our room a little dated but that gave it a kind of charm. It was a comfortable break after a long tiring drive. Great for a short stay. I could imagine that if your were a fisherman that this motel would be well placed for your needs. Friendly helpful host. One real plus was that of all the motels that I have stayed in over many years, this is the only one that I can recall as providing a carport which makes a difference on a cold wet day.

We were a last-minute phone booking around 8.30pm, lovely owner went and put the heating on for us in the unit. We'd stayed here previously, and it was a great place to stop in at.

The only mild disappointment was the sliding door was difficult to open and close to keep the heat in the main area due to spare pillows and blankets being stored on the floor of the open wardrobe. Perhaps a built in shelf for them would be great, then the door wouldn't keep getting hitched up on it. Hubby could hear the traffic from the main road next door but I didn't.

Owners were very friendly and helpful. Suggested a change of unit to help with security of my trailer and motorcycles which included a covered parking area and was an upgrade at no extra charge. Even the friendly dog came and said hello when we arrived. Great location close to town but not in the busy area of town.

Property is an older motel and a a bit dated but well cared for and clean and tidy. Has a homely feel and is perfectly comfortable and functional.

Lovely older style motel that has been well looked after.Facilities you might need were all there available.The motel is well laid out with colourful flowers in the garden areas.The lawn area is lovely to sit or for children to play on sunny days.Everything was clean and worked well in the motel.The beds were very comfortable.The motel is handy to Turangi shopping centre and there is a pizza cafe which has other meals on its menu just over the road.

The couch was very low to sit and get up from however putting a blanket on couch made it better!

Wonderful owners Pip & Ross whose property is made by hard work & a labor of love. We enjoyed thumbing thr the books & especially enjoyed “Tongariro Skulduggery” written by Ross. The place was like a cabin, may not have the modern amenities but had kitchen tools that were from another time. We cherished the time here & wished we had more to walk the surrounding area & play with their dog.

Actually enjoyed the property

Lovely owner. The homely feel, lovely rooms and being a trout town all of the memorabilia of that sort. And our dog was able to come. Good access into the accommodation and bathroom, kitchen etc for those less abled. Easy to find and parking right by our door.

Wasn't long enough we just stayed one night, would've loved to have stayed longer.

I enjoyed the comfy feel of the room we got. the cat omg she was absolutely beautiful visited our rm every night. The Tramp was fantastic for my Grandson everything about the place was great not forgetting the gentleman whom greeted me at the reception such a great Ora about him .

I liked everything oh no busy main road hard to get to sleep if your a lite sleeper when I return I will take ear plugs sorted.

Loved the homely feel and how comfortable our flat was. It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Location was good to get into the Turangi city centre and for price we were happy. The old couple were lovely along with their old dog at reception. Worth the stay.
