The room was renovated – everything felt very modern. There’s a brand-new smart TV, comfy recliner sofa, a stylish kitchen, and a bathroom is freshly refurbished. You can tell the host has really put a lot of care into it. We travelled with our dog, and the flooring was perfect – clean, modern hard floors instead of carpet. In most pet-friendly places you can still smell pets or strong deodoriser, but here it was spotless and fresh. Such a thoughtful touch from the host. The host was also very welcoming and made us feel at home. We really appreciated the effort and hospitality. We would definitely choose to stay here again next time we’re in Taupō.

My Husband and I stayed here for 7 nights with our puppy. We are so happy that we found this place so that we could bring our boy on our trip. The room was PERFECT for us. The staff were all so lovely, so welcoming. The room literally had everything we needed. Most awesome thing we loved was THE BED AND THE SUNSET VIEW! Omg that bed I wanted to take home haha. We are quite hot people so we only used the sheet as our blanket but if you are a cold person, they have the nicest heaviest blankets that would be perfect for you. Many people talk about the location but we loved coming back home after being in the city centre (literally 5-15mins away). It was so peaceful! We plan on returning next year!

Maybe some curtains would be good but honestly not even something that fully bothered us.

We stayed here during Auckland Anniversary weekend. Accomodation in the centre of Taupo was completely unaffordable, so we were very fortunate to stay close(only a short drive) for a fraction of the price. The unit was nice and tidy, had everything we needed. There is a cute little shop at reception too. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They let us know where we could access the lake for a swim(really close to the motel also) and where the on-site playground is. We returned after a big day of adventures and when I went to bring in the washing from the line it had been neatly folded and left in the laundry room for us!

We absolutely loved our accommodation overall. It didn’t really look promising from the outside but as soon as we got in, even my 19 month old toddler who can bare speak said “wow pretty” and it was amazing. The beds were so comfortable and warm that we wished to stay an extra night because of how comfy it is. We loved how all the facilities we needed was in reach. The shower was just amazing. We still talked about how great our experience was so we will definitely come back.

It didn’t have an iron and we also noted abit of dog hairs but it was already mentioned in the pamphlet in the cabin so thats fine because we’ve got fogs of our own.

Location is clearly stated, so unlike other reviews it’s a great location and is quieter than you’d think. About 10 mins if that from Taupō. Get your own parking spot, hosts are lovely and there is a dairy shop onsite if you need anything at all. Shower is AMAZING

Only thing for us was the service and wifi. That’s something out of the hosts control, but something that bothered us a little bit. Our bed was quite stiff but by the second night we realised the other bed was comfier so slept in that ◡̈

I had a wonderful stay at Windsor motel! The beds were super comfy, towels were provided, and there were extra pillows for added comfort. We even got to cook using a portable hot plate (with all the necessary cooking utensils supplied). The location is great—close to Taupō town yet in a very calm and peaceful area. The elderly lady, who I believe is the owner, was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and accommodating. Highly recommend!

I loved the location. Far enough out of Taupo township to pop into if required. I love to walk with my dog. We were across the road from the lake and there was also a river walk. Owners have four dogs that were extremely well behaved and did not annoy my girl or my girl annoy their dogs. I traveled to Turangi and Taumaranui which is a perfect traveling distance. I will stay again in the future. The room I stayed in was luxurious for the price I paid. The most comfortable bed and bedding. Great unit layout and cooking facilities. Indulged in a bit of Netflix. I had a great stay. Should be a better name for Hosts as these people are exceptional and will go that extra mile for you if you need them to. I appreciate them, their little shop, and the services they provide.

There is nothing that I did not like. I knew it was beside a busy road so if the road noise disturbs you that is by one's choice and not the location of the motel. I am a very light sleeper and I managed perfectly.

Classic case of don't judge a book by its cover. The host was amazing so approachable down to earth with 4 beautiful huskies. A pet friendly place that allows dogs in the unit. Had the best sleeps the bed was amazing. A awesome hidden treasure track up the road that leads u to a paradise picture perfect river. Just 10 mins from taupo. Really is a laid back place to chill totally recommend 😁

We stayed 1 night, 4 people 1 child, and was amazing when we arrived. There is a shop on site where you can buy pretty much anything. Yes, the rooms are small, but honestly, it wasn't a problem at all for us. Beds are so comfortable and loved the extra bedding available. Yes, it's about 15 mins from taupo City, but it wasn't a problem for us at all, so we definitely would come back. The staff were great . Also loved all the lights in the carpark at night very pretty 😍
