We had a great stay! The accommodation is in an excellent location, close to everything you need. The bed was very comfortable, and I loved having several pillow options to choose from. The absolute highlight was the hot mineral thermal pool — it was perfectly warm and ready for us when we arrived, which was such a treat. The next day, it filled up quickly, so we could enjoy it again without any wait. Highly recommend!

It’s not that we didn’t enjoy it — we had a great stay! My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide smart TVs with access to streaming services like Netflix. That said, this didn’t affect our experience at all.

Exceptional service. We were upgraded just because there were kids next door to the room we booked. Of course we wouldn't expect the same if the place was full, but it was a very nice surprise. Spa was great, albeit a little tricky to get in and out of. Room was delightful. View from upstairs was nice too, though obstructed to the lake (as promised). Would be even better in summer. Good tea. Nice furniture and furnishings. The couch stood out to us as being much better than the one we had had in another place the night before. TV upstairs and down.

It was tricky getting the temperature balance right between upstairs and downstairs on a cold winter night. There was plenty of heating, just couldn't quite hit the sweet spot. No curtain over the glass door downstairs let in light and let out heat. The usual rubbish coffee. Not a criticism - but an FYI - I did struggle a little with the manager's accent. Great guy, great service, very friendly, just a little hard to understand at times.

The staff were amazing. The room was prepared, and thermal spa bath water prepared for us as we walked in the door. Very friendly service and the rooms were very clean and tidy. Recently painted. Carpet clean. Beds very comfortable. The shower was probably the most powerful I've ever experienced. The thermal spa pool was amazing! Great central location. Nice and quiet too.

I liked everything apart from a small bit of light coming through the main door at night past the blinds. I like to sleep in complete darkness. A bigger rubbish bin would be nice, but staff did empty the rubbish daily which was nice 🙂

We were upgraded to a two bedroom, two level apartment which was very nice as it was our wedding anniversary. We had a sunny balcony and a view of the gardens. There are lots of little touches and attention to detail in the accomodation, it reallly was very nice - fluffy towels and a great shower and everything you could need. We had a good soak in the mineral pool despite some young ones next door making a bit of noise. We didn't hear them after that - it was nice and quiet and it was good to have AC in the upstairs bedroom. We would defintely go back!

This can't be changed but the stairs were very narrow and a bit steep to the upstairs bedrooms. Apart from that slight inconvenience everything was excellent.

Great location, you can walk to the lake and DeBretts is 5min away. Very nice hosts, gorgeous garden, big TV and stereo. The termal pool was easy to use and well isolated from the unit. Great to had a free washing machine and drier. The kitchen has all you need for a short trip. Our kid slept in the sofa bed and it was alright.

There was a tiny bit of mold in the entrance door and the shower, the pool and the walls need a coat of paint and you can hear the cars from the main street but it didn't bother us to sleep as it wasn't loud.

Such a cute little resort. I loved having a view of the water, especially during sunset. I also really loved the personal geothermal spa. I've been to geothermal pools and there's always a lot of people, or the pressure to be social. I loved how it was private for just my husband and I. They also really thought of everything. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels, AirBnB's, and regular bnb's. There is always something missing here or there, but not at this resort. I will definitely be a repeat visitor in the future.

I can't think of anything I didn't like

We really liked the room , it felt homely and was very comfortable . Thought had gone into the furnishings and the outlook to the very pretty rose garden was great. The little touches like a vase of roses on the table were lovely. the light fittings were like something you would have in your own home much nicer than the standard motel . The furniture and carpet were good and the layout of the room well thought out. The bathroom was spacious with great water pressure in the shower. The park right by the room was appreciated. Plenty of power points and USB outlets. Finally the private spa was just bliss.

A lovely one bed duplex apartment set in a pretty garden setting. we had a view of the lake from the upstairs balcony. there is a road in front of the apartments but as the buildings are set back it is less noisy than many others . There are apartments opposite but the Lake can be seen between these. The apartment was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and was comfortable for our one night stay. the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The hot tub with is filled with water from the natural geothermal source. We enjoyed a walk around part of Lake Taupo. we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

For us there was nothing we did not like but it is a long walk or a short drive into the town centre for food etc.

The thermal pool in the accommodation was super. Lovely bedroom ` very nice staff. The kitchen facilities were excellent. I loved Taupo and the location was great as the road to Napier was beside the property. There was also a balcony which we didn't use. The rose garden was very nice.

Nothing. However the stairs was somewhat narrow and the two storey units may not suit everyone such as those with mobility issues. Decor was somewhat dated but that didn't really bother me. I would have loved to spend a second night here.

After a long drive, was really nice showing up to a nice and warm room! One of the better places we have statues and will definitely be back. The rooms were tidy and appealing, which made it easy to relax. The hot tub is an added bonus, highly recommend having a soak and enjoy the athletics with the lights and art. Staff were really friendly in the morning checking in and seeing if needed anything extra.

Sadly it was raining so couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the garden.
