Our stay was truly exceptional, with the room meeting our every requirement, providing a perfect balance of privacy, safety, and warmth. The young man on reception I believe his name is Dillen was impressively courteous and efficient, demonstrating superior customer service skills. We will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend this venue to everyone, given its outstanding value for money.

The only thing I didn’t like which was not at all the property fault was the rain. The staff the room the parking was exceptionally great.

This is an excellent accommodation, very clean and tidy, and perfect for me as a solo traveler Reception checked me in quickly and efficiently., The room had a good bathroom with great shower, very clean and tidy. The room also has tea and coffee facilities, and a small jug of milk was supplied. There is a small refrigerator and a small microwave, too.

There is no elevator from the ground floor to the first level, where the rooms are - you have to walk up a small number of stairs with your luggage, so only take minimal luggage with you unless you are staying more than one night. On a previous occasion of my staying here, Reception gave me a hand with my bag up the stairs.

The decor and artwork

There was no hair-dryer provided. Parking in the front carparks, was very tight/difficult to get into and out of - especially the far carpark in front. It would be better if the space for this park was used and divided up amoungst the other parks. The guest/information folder in the room (No.8) mentioned a 10% discount for bookings made by The Cove at the reastaurant/s recommended in the folder. However, we were told by Edgewater restaurant staff, that there was no such arrangement with The Cove. The Cove man at reception did make our dinner reservation. Best this folder info be corrected or deleted, or sort out the arrangement with Edgwater Restaurant.

Location was amazing. Right in front of the lake and only 5 minutes from the town centre. The room itself felt quite luxurious, it's obviously an old building but it's been renovated as good as it can be. Bedroom was spacious, bathroom was even bigger and the balcony/hot tub area was great. Quite baby proof too.

The sofa bed is uncomfortable and the location of the hotel means, parking is a bit hard to find. The hotel has parking but when it's fully booked, the parking is hard to get as it's first come first serve. Kitchenette area is tiny, with a tiny sink - wish it was just a tad bit bigger.

We booked the executive suite and it was huge. It had a six seater dining table and a separate lounge area. Sitting in the lounge area you have a nice view of the lake. The room had a great king size bed and it was super comfy. Both my wife and I had a good nights sleep on our two night stay. It was really handy that there was a cafe that you can access from The Cove. The staff there were very friendly and we had breakfast there overlooking the lake….. a nice place to have your morning coffee.

Basin in the bathroom was cracked and the toilet wouldn’t stop running after it was flushed unless you went back in and pushed the button again. These were minor thing that didn’t bother us at all.

Lovely studio room - compact without being cramped for a one night stay. Nice to see lake views and appreciated the extra touches in the bathroom and kitchenette facility with nice plunger coffee option and little bottle of milk upon check in rather than UHT milk.

Bed was too soft for my personal preference. Was going to take the mattress topper off to try and get a firmer sleep but then realised that wouldn't help as the mattress was soft as well. But that is the only thing that didn't meet the otherwise excellent standards and as I say - it is just my preference for a firmer bed.

Have stayed at the Cove Previously and enjoyed it 100%. Location is excellent, its quiet, staff are tops and good communicators after I misplace my wallet. Nice outlook in the morning to wake up and look across the lake then go and get breakfast. Look forward to staying again the next time im in Taupo. Good base to service the whole area from which includes Tokoroa, Kawerau, Whakatane, and Rotorua.

Their is nothing I dont like about staying at the Cove. Good value for money compared to some other places I've stayed at this year. Must be clean and have awell made comfortable bed.

Just A stroll dwn the hallway and welcomed by the lovely lady and staff at the cafe...was wonderful amazing to sit and look at a magnificent view...on arrival to accommodation we were moved (room) closer as my partner was on crutches.. thank you.. I recommended the cove to my neighbor as she asked wer we wer staying and wat we thought..I didn't hesitate to tel the truth and nxt min she texted me to say she's booked in for nxt mth..so 10/10 ..if u ask me..we will b back for sure..the spa was a bonus and always hot too..yr house maid was awesome too..friendly and helpful..give her a bonus didn't get her name..😁👌..once again thank you very much for a great comfortable weekend..the weather was on point too..

The room was huge, the couch and TV set up was good as well. Fairly quiet, even though this faced onto the main road around the lake. Easy to get to a number of amenities by a short car ride. Free parking at the facility was really helpful.

For the size of the room, I was surprised at how compact the bathroom and toilet was. Only one person is able to be in there at a time. The wooden venetian blinds closed but not tightly, so there was a little bit of light that seeped in at night.

Good floor plan, plenty of storage, bed was very comfortable, spa was clean and hot, bathroom clean, easy to make tea, coffee, fridge clean. Privacy was very good. Good meet and great with staff member Dillon, check in was quick and easy.

No emergency exits map with floor plan, giving quickest or alternate routes of exit and clear guide for assembly points. No tea towel or dish cloth, bath a bit high to step into, suggest hand rail placement for support.
