Excellent place to stay! We came for a triathlon race. At check in, Anthony had printed out the swims bike and run course maps for me, gave us travel tips, and provided us a cot for our baby. The rooms are perfect, warm water for showers, kitchenette, fridge, microwave, comfortable bed. The location is perfect right across from the lake, and within a short walk of several places to eat. There is also a free washer and dryer with soap provided. Anthony checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. We would absolutely stay here again!

Our stay in Taupo is one of the most memorable one throughout our 16 days journey in New Zealand. We like the spacious and cosy room and the location which is just opposite the lakeside and 5 minutes drive to the town centre. Should have stayed longer! The owner is very very friendly, resourceful and hospitable. His input and recommendations made our stop here and the rest of our journey even more fruitful and efficient. My family miss you so much, Anthony! And thank you very much for the little goodies and your suggestions. The breakfast at Dixie Browns, as suggested is yummy yummy. PS. Children say hi!

Well priced. Great location - across from the lake. Close to town but not too close. Excellent wifi for a motel. I would recommend for people visiting on business. The host is a lovely gentleman that went out of his way (without feeling it was anything but something he enjoyed doing) to ensure I had not only what I needed to know for the room but checked what advice we needed for our stay. He provided excellent recommendations for dining and took my children into consideration. He also made sure I was across the tv for Netflix and YouTube for kids. The place is extremely clean including under furniture, my child who does not sit still let me know. Little extra touches in relation to quaint taste in cups and coffee table, mini pot plants, makeup removers, coat rack... The kitchen is stocked well and better than most kitchenettes. Easy to cook for family. Just arrived. Stayed in one bedroom unit for 2 nights. Here for work and family visit. Excellent choice. Well worth the cost.

Bugs but that is to be expected by a lake, no avoiding that. Not too many due to room being so clean. There was bug spray in the unit, so issue solved.

Very courteous host (Anthony). Very clean and spacious one bed upstairs apartment at back. Crisp comfortable decor. Much appreciated shampoo in bathroom. Plenty of towels and even face cloths. Actual mini-bars of soap instead of liquid shower dispenser. Good water pressure. TV easy to use - single remote. Heat pump worked. Extra blankets in room, thanks. More than enough bed pillows! Clean cutlery & crockery for breakfast. Did not cook in. Parking no problem, utes (out front) and SUVs (up the back, reverse park please).

A bag of plunger coffee would have been nice to go into the plunger, or even a sachet of hot chocolate mix. (Plenty of instant coffee and tea bags). Not a deal breaker.

Anthony was amazing, very attentive and friendly. Gave us many different pamphlets and maps and directed us to things to do. Dried some of our washing for us in their commercial dryer and brought it up to our room. He is what makes the stay!! Had everything we could need in the room and were made very aware that if we needed anything not to hesitate and ask. Amazing views too.

No faults at all

Excellent hotel in a great location right opposite the lake. Free onsite parking. We stayed for two nights and the room was fantastic. A great size, comfortable bed, good shower, large TV and a kitchenette. The host Anthony was very friendly and welcoming. He gave us really good information about what we should do and see during our stay in Taupo. He even offered and gave us a lift to pick up our rental car.

Nothing. It was an excellent stay which we would highly recommend.

On the lake shore, away from noise of downtown. Easy walk up the hill to Mole & Chicken restaurant recommended by owner.

If neighbours sit outside their rooms, you can hear everything in your room. I was in Room 2 and on the first night Room 1 held loud phone conversations right outside my door later in the evening

Location is good, just across the road from the lake and easy to walk into town. The room was a good size, clean with the usual features. For once the bed was quite comfortable (so many many motel beds are far too hard). The owner is friendly and quick to offer advice on where to visit etc. One good thing was he was always doing something around the property and chatting to guests. Good value for money and we will most likely stay here again.

We booked at the very last minute yet we were upgraded. The manager was delightful, friendly and helpful. He aalso let us put our bikes safely behind his apartment. The room was bright and clean with a view of the lake!

The shower was rather difficult to set to a ttemperature. The manager was surprised so I am sure it will get fixed really quickly.

Staff were very helpful. We were very concerned when we found there was no air conditioning as my husband has a serious heart problem. We thought we would need to go elsewhere but the man offered to bring in another fan which workied perfectly. The decor when you walked in had a clean fresh bright look.

The lighting wasn't very good for we oldies!! There wasn't enough towel rails.
