Great location just a 2-minute walk from Lake Taupo. My room had a nice partial lake and street view. It was clean, tidy, and came with all the basics like tea, coffee, clean towels, and utensils. A comfortable and convenient stay overall!

The room layout at the lodge was a bit unusual and not very practical. One of the main concerns was the lack of privacy — the room opened directly into the bathroom, and there was no lock on the bathroom door. This meant that anyone needing to access the living area from the room could inadvertently walk in while the bathroom was in use, which was quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the placement of the TV was not ideal. It was mounted in a far corner of the room, making it difficult to watch comfortably from the bed, which was positioned in the center. A better setup would be to place the TV on the wall directly opposite the bed for easier viewing. While the space had potential, these design choices impacted the overall comfort and functionality of the stay.

Staff member on reception was lovely, bubbly and friendly so was a nice greeting! Great facilities including a stove top to cook in this room (we didn't use but great to know it's there) Close enough to town and walk across the street to the lake :)

It was very cold at night as no extra blankets provided! They had electric blankets (great) although don't like leaving them on all night. There was a heat pump in one room/lounge but the next room with 2 extra beds didn't have any heating devices apart from electric blankets (which were good) but only had a sheet and thin duvet cover. Would be great to have extra comforter or blankets in cupboards or end of bed! Otherwise great place to stay

Great little motel on the lake front. Excellent location, short walk to the main town center/bars/restaurants. Easy quick check in, staff very pleasant, and we received a free upgrade to a lakeview room which was much appreciated (would be worth paying for it next time!). Rooms are clean, tidy, and have everything you need. Small kitchenette with coffee/tea provided. Some parts a little bit dated but nothing of concern. Elevator is old school, and starts and ends with a big BUMP which our 5 year old boy thought was hilarious, as good as a roller coaster!

As the motel is on the front of the lake you do hear traffic from the busy road going past. Would suggest if noise bothers you to bring some ear plugs.

We had a beautiful view of the lake from our 4th storey room which was spectacular. Easy walking distance to town, heat pump/aircon certainly did what was needed and the heated blankets were great. Room was clean, bed was comfy and staff very friendly. Great that the window could open!!

The bouncy lift which we were fortunately warned about- luckily we were more than able to use the stairs. Kitchen area is too small to do much more than warm up food or make toast but that was all we needed.

Just the feeling of being in taupo, was AMAZING!! I loved our lake view from our room. It was just so beautiful!! Everything in our room was Very Good! Nice, comfy and clean! The Reception Lady(I forgot to get her name) but she was AMAZING! and so beautiful! So we originally got the street view room when we first booked but when we arrived and I went to check in she had upgraded Me and My Little family to a lake view room for no Extra Charge!! And the room was so Beautiful 😍 Taupo is a beautiful place!! We will deffinetly be back! Thankyou for serving us well while we stayed was MEKE! 😍👌

Location. Cleanliness of the room. Spaciousness. Well equipped kitchenette. Had a lift and the stairwell wasn't too steep if you weren't able to take the lift (my sister suffers vertigo). Nice seating area outside room. Fabulous view of the lake. Able to park the car close to room.

The lift was quite bumpy and scary, however, we were warned about it. Concerned if we weren't able to get a carpark close to our room. No door between bedroom and bathroom, an issue when sharing with another person - we managed it though.

The motel is right on the lakefront, and I had paid for a lake view which was magnificent. We were on the 4th floor, and did not notice much road noise at all. Is within walking distance of the town for food etc, and there is a restaurant next door as well. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked extremely well, there is also electric blankets on the beds if you visit in the winter.

Nothing really, the lift was a bit clunkey but we were warned about that and it was better than using the stairs.

First impression was a room upgrade to a lake view & it was stunning. Big room, comfy lounge, always clean & cleaned daily. Great little kitchen area, Bedroom was comfy with another amazing view of the lake. Lift upto my 4th floor. Heater was appreciated as the nights got cooler. Only a 10min walk to town & a pub/restaurant 50m away. Would definitely stay again & highly recommended.

The only minor problem I found was the shower was abit weak. That's just my personal preference & definitely not a deal breaker

Good price/quality value. Amazing location, 15' walk from restaurants/shops and immediately in front of the lake. Staff was nice and helpful. We got lucky because they gave us a free upgrade to a lakeview room, a very kind gesture that was immensely appreciated and shows they know how to take care of guests. Room well equipped with fan, heater, mini-fridge and basic but solid kitchen supplies. No complaints.

We had a good stay, so I can't really say too much. Some people might prefer to be immediately in town or closer to the i-site, but the 10-15 minute walk is really easy. Great place!

Everything was perfect. Reception made me feel welcome, friendly face greeted me and showed me to where my room was located. The view that greeted me out the window was just stunning and the room amenities were great. Comfortable big bed with electric blanket, awesome shower pressure, nice and hot, heat pump to take the chill off the air and free wifi, not that I used it.
