Older style property with basic facilities but it had everything we needed. Heat pump and electric blankets made for a comfortable stay. Spacious room, very clean and tidy. Great value for money.

The ironing board in Room 5 could use a new topper. Other than that good value for money.

Great location Friendly staff. Well equiped rooms with every thing needed in a kitchen. Daily servicing . Price was excellent and super comfy sofa. Hot water was excellent for showering.

Instructions needed for using micrwave. We couldnt up the power through trial and error, so microwave didn't heat food correctly. The stair design isn't good and is very very noisy! It would have been better having a platform near top and straight steps from that. We needed the heaters provided as downstairs very cold area,

Very close to town centre, convenient for shopping or getting to hospitality venues. Room size was very spacious, with a two level layout there was surplus room everywhere for us. Everything was clean, parking right at the door, wifi coverage fine. We were also upgraded to a bigger unit than we had booked without asking and without additional cost.

Only item that may be inadequate if you were using the unit for a family group was the cooktop in the kitchen. It only had two small elements. Wasn't an issue for us, only two of us staying there and we went out for meals. No problems with anything else.

The staff were exceptional. When we arrived we discovered that the room we were given, which was supposed to have a double bed and two singles, only had one of each. When I went to reception about it, I was told that the last people who had stayed there had two kids, one of which broke their bed by jumping on it. The owners had sent the bed to be repaired and had thought we were a couple and a single, rather than three single people and therefore thought the two beds would be ok. When I explained the situation, the owner said he would arrange a replacement for us but it might take a few hours. I told him we were going out that evening but we were ok with him going in to set up the bed while we were gone. He left and returned only 15 minutes later, having decided to take a bed from another room to put in ours, instead of "invading our privacy" by coming in while we were out. He set up the bed exactly where we asked and then left, only to come back a couple of minutes later to give us extra towels. The room was clean, tidy and reasonably comfortable and in a great location.

You have to be quite short to fit under the shower and there was a gap between the ceiling and the wall between the main room and the bedroom, which was kinda weird.

We had Uber eats delivered to the motel and even though I described where our room was, it defaulted to “drop at Lobby”. My wife went to Reception which closes at 5pm, she explained that the delivery was coming via the lobby and could arrive in 10-40 mins. It was at 7pm. She wanted to give him my mobile so he could txt us. He rudely told her the office was closed and didn’t even listen. He was preoccupied on his phone. Two other workers there were very friendly though.

The place was spick and span and we could actually smell that it was really clean inside. No musty smell whatsoever considering this must've been an old structure. Beds were well made and everyone had a restful sleep. It was a very nice size of accommodation for families or groups and we plan to book again in the near future when we visit Taupo with family friends. Well done to the family who takes care of this property. We wish you all the best!

The location was excellent, in a quiet street, and an easy walk from the lakeside. We loved the view of the mountains and lake from the upstairs floor. It was exceptional all day, through to the magical sunset. The living area was very spacious and well appointed. We received extremely good help from the staff with an issue over our car.

Yes, the motel is fairly dated, but we had expected this from the reviews, and it made no difference to the enjoyment of our stay.

The view was spectacular. Lake, mountains, parachutes, sunrise and sunset 😍 amazing. The beds were comfortable and the living space was comfy for our family of 5 to enjoy movie nights and meals together

Had to ask for room service which usually happens 9am-12pm daily unless asked not to. Be good to have a vaccuum as it didnt get vaccuumed during our 3 night stay. Some dishes were dirty.

The motel was in a prime location. Close to all major attractions. There were great restaurants within walking distance. Our place was spotless, comfortable and spacious. The parking is just in front of the door too. It provides family-friendly services. I was traveling with 2 kids by the way. The staff were friendly too. I would definitely come back here!

Really good stay. Room was roomy and clean, quiet and comfortable. Couldn't ask for much more. This is a basic motel, but it ticks all the boxes for a really good stay. Also very easy to wander into town and grab a feed.

Would have liked a plunger with some plunger coffee for a wake-up beverage. Not really a lot to ask as most/many motels of this vintage provide that.
