The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Always easy to ask for anything. Quick check in and check out. No hassle stay. Very quiet place yet everything is so accessible. Room is clean and complete with everything you need. Spa, game room, and mini golf were really good bonus to the package!

Some minor things that can be improved on like the separate hot and cold water tap (a bit outdated) and the shower (quite strong and knob is a bit tricky to control). But despite some outdated fixtures, the whole place is well-maintained and clean. This would be my go-to place everytime I go to Ruapehu!

Absolutely loved the convenience of the location, the whole set up of the unit was perfect for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids aged 5 and under), and had all the amenities needed to have an easy comfortable stay (like heat pump, TV, cutlery, kitchen appliances etc, extra linen). Also, even though we didn't have time to utilise the onsite shared areas like the pool and courtyard games, it was great to know that they were there! Nice big shower/bathroom in our unit too. The booking process was very straight forward and communication from staff/owner was wonderful, prompt, helpful and friendly, was very much appreciated, especially for such a late check in after we had to make a detour to the hospital on our way to the lodge! We will be sure to stay again!! Loved the ease of the after hours check in process too, made things a lot less stressful for a very tired family eager to hop straight into bed and sleep!

The only thing that made our stay a little difficult (which is constructive feedback only, not a negative!), was not having the option of a baby safety gate, as our little ones kept trying to climb the open plan stairs in the unit to the main bedroom. So maybe this could be added as an extra "request" feature like the cots? :) The main bed was comfortable and we appreciated the extra bedding, the sofa beds weren't top notch luxury comfort, but were perfect for what they're designed for (comfy as a couch, not so much as a temporary bed).

It's a great motel in a handy location. I have used it before and will certainly stay there again. I had a standard unit and it had a spacious room with comfortable chairs and a small staircase which led to an upstaits mezzanine with two extra beds.

The only thing is that I kept getting automatic emails from the property. 7 in total. Once I've booked and confirmed it unnerved me slightly to keep getting messages from the Motel cause I thought there might be something wrong. Normally motels don't send you this many messagea. You just book, confirm and turn up.

I liked the things I have rated highly above. I appreciate the acceptance without charge of a broken wine glass. The response from Sarah at reception to my concerns was immediate and understanding. I also very much appreciated the fact that I could charge my EV from the unit. This was a great help as we had driven from the Kapiti Coast to get to TLL. A spa after completing the Tongariro Crossing was so good for the tired muscles and sore feet. We had booked a smaller unit but were upgraded to a two-bedroom unit at no additional charge which was fantastic. The motel is so close to the supermarket and mall, one can walk to the important shops.

The ceiling light bulb in the downstairs bedroom was a night light which was not suitable for the adult who slept there. We removed the bulb.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Very close to everything. Minigolf was handy and gave the kids something to do while we were busy organising food or our stuff in the room. Play area just out the font door. Plenty of windows and doors to open for fresh air.

Could've had a smart TV. We usually watch Disney or YouTube at night. =D And my husband and I both like 2 pillows each. Not big issues when you're having a weekend away at Mt Ruapehu and passing through Turangi. Just little things that would contribute to your overall comfort.

Although undergoing some renovations (which we were warned about) it did not impact on our stay at all. The apartment was on two floors with the bedroom upstairs and spacious lounge/kitchen/dining area downstairs - bigger than we expected. Clean and well equipped with a comfy bed. We used the pool and hot tub both nights of our stay (and the mini golf!) which were a bonus. Not much of a town to visit (though has a good sized supermarket) but we were using this as a base for doing the Tongariro Crossing and the location was well suited for this, as it is only about a 20 minutes drive to the park and ride. Lake Taupo is also very close by.

Turangi Leisure Lodge was a comfortable place to stay as a one night stop over on our drive from Waihi Beach area to Wellington. Sarah was very welcoming and the accommodations were as shown on their website - not fancy but clean and comfortable. We were able to use the kitchen to prepare a light meal & breakfast. Having several coffee shops, a restaurant and a grocery store a short walk away was very convenient. Good value for the price of a night's stay.

Traffic from the highway nearby could be problematic for a light sleeper, but closing bedroom windows and doors help remedy that.

- Super friendly staff - Great value for what we paid - Amazing location; shops, restaurants etc are all within 5 minutes walking distance - Room layout is great - Lovely layout - Entertainment rooms and games to play on-site which are both adult and kid friendly

- Cleanliness; fridge had a funky smell, blanket had white stains, mattress had old food on it - Sound proofing wasn't great; could hear both neighbours on either side of us - Bed comfort wasn't great, especially the fold out couch

Very comfortable unit for our one night stay in Turangi. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was spacious, warm and cosy which was important as it was literally freezing when we were there. Great location a short walk to the shops.

The shower head was too low and the water pressure not very good. Also it was a bit of a walk around the building from the carpark so we did what others did and passed our luggage up to the balcony from the carpark. Otherwise everything was great and would stay here again. Thank you!

We were in a comfy apartment which is like home away from home with all the necessary amenities.Everything was clean and comfortable.The hot water ran freely when needed.The motel is close to Turangi shopping centre.The motel staff are always pleasant and friendly.

Not the motels fault but there was a power cut just before 11pm. in the area so we didn`t get to see the end of the movie we were watching! No worries! Luckily we had our mobile phones to use as torches to be able to see to get to bed.Was one of the first times I hadn`t put a torch in my carry luggage for that sort of occurrence.
