It's a great motel in a handy location. I have used it before and will certainly stay there again. I had a standard unit and it had a spacious room with comfortable chairs and a small staircase which led to an upstaits mezzanine with two extra beds.

The only thing is that I kept getting automatic emails from the property. 7 in total. Once I've booked and confirmed it unnerved me slightly to keep getting messages from the Motel cause I thought there might be something wrong. Normally motels don't send you this many messagea. You just book, confirm and turn up.

I liked the things I have rated highly above. I appreciate the acceptance without charge of a broken wine glass. The response from Sarah at reception to my concerns was immediate and understanding. I also very much appreciated the fact that I could charge my EV from the unit. This was a great help as we had driven from the Kapiti Coast to get to TLL. A spa after completing the Tongariro Crossing was so good for the tired muscles and sore feet. We had booked a smaller unit but were upgraded to a two-bedroom unit at no additional charge which was fantastic. The motel is so close to the supermarket and mall, one can walk to the important shops.

The ceiling light bulb in the downstairs bedroom was a night light which was not suitable for the adult who slept there. We removed the bulb.

Although undergoing some renovations (which we were warned about) it did not impact on our stay at all. The apartment was on two floors with the bedroom upstairs and spacious lounge/kitchen/dining area downstairs - bigger than we expected. Clean and well equipped with a comfy bed. We used the pool and hot tub both nights of our stay (and the mini golf!) which were a bonus. Not much of a town to visit (though has a good sized supermarket) but we were using this as a base for doing the Tongariro Crossing and the location was well suited for this, as it is only about a 20 minutes drive to the park and ride. Lake Taupo is also very close by.

Turangi Leisure Lodge was a comfortable place to stay as a one night stop over on our drive from Waihi Beach area to Wellington. Sarah was very welcoming and the accommodations were as shown on their website - not fancy but clean and comfortable. We were able to use the kitchen to prepare a light meal & breakfast. Having several coffee shops, a restaurant and a grocery store a short walk away was very convenient. Good value for the price of a night's stay.

Traffic from the highway nearby could be problematic for a light sleeper, but closing bedroom windows and doors help remedy that.

We were in a comfy apartment which is like home away from home with all the necessary amenities.Everything was clean and comfortable.The hot water ran freely when needed.The motel is close to Turangi shopping centre.The motel staff are always pleasant and friendly.

Not the motels fault but there was a power cut just before 11pm. in the area so we didn`t get to see the end of the movie we were watching! No worries! Luckily we had our mobile phones to use as torches to be able to see to get to bed.Was one of the first times I hadn`t put a torch in my carry luggage for that sort of occurrence.

Although the facilities are old, our apartment was spotless and spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen, very convenient for cooking and, private shaded parking place. Free pool, jacuzzi, and mini golf.

A little bit noisy at night from the trucks on the highway. According to the reservation and the photos, our apartment was supposed to have a washing machine and dryer. Finally, there was no washing machine in our apartment, we used the shared washing machine free of charge, with powder provided by the lodge. The washing machine was only one and crowded and the dryer was very slow.

The motel is close to Turangi shopping centre and there is a cafe over the road from motel.The bed was very comfortable and there is a heat pump in room when cold.All facilities worked well.The water flowed well in the shower and there is bathroom heating if necessary.The dishwasher and fridge freezer were very convenient.Staff are always friendly and helpfull at this motel.

The lighting in kitchen area needs attention.The roof lighting angled to the bench was not working and only the one light worked above the cooktop.

Big space with all commodities; very quiet at night. Nice personnel. Well situated for running, swimming pool nearby, some shops also; a pizzeria 50 m from the accommodation. Close to Tongariro area and Lake Taupo

When doing the reservation it was said "non refundable" but possibility to change dates. When receining the reservation confirmation it said "non refundable" and "dates cannot be changed". Needs to be checked as one may need to change dates if sick or else

Pros: Friendly staff that gave good advice about the area. Walking distance from grocery store, restaurants, and shops. Good amenities, everything that you need was provided. Located between Taupo and Tongariro so we were able to explore both places while keeping the same hotel. Cons: Mattresses just ok (if you’re bed sharing you can really feel the movement of the other person). When I went to use the tea pot, there was still old coffee and the filter bag from the previous guest. Glassware was greasy and not well washed.

It had a comfy bed and air conditioning. A good location. It had a spa pool and pool, but I didn’t use them but they seemed popular with others.

It would have been nice to have a bit for furniture outside to sit out on. There wasn’t any outdoor furniture for my room, but there were two picnic tables that were for use for all of the rooms. If you wanted to sit outside you’d have to take your kitchen chairs outside. Also, I had only one light bulb that worked in the upstairs room, and that was only if you switched it on at the side of the bed.
