A perfect place to stay for those attempting the Tongariro crossing. Mary and Tim made us fresh breakfast roles and a delicious pack up as well as lots of good advice. The hot tub in a secluded part of the garden was much needed for sore limbs- and we enjoyed watching the wag tails. And our cooked breakfast on the second day when we weren’t up at the crack of dawn also delicious. We enjoyed sitting on our little veranda area of the garden. We even loved the shower gel. Such helpful hosts. We can’t recommend it enough. We wish we’d stayed one day longer.

It was perfect.

Easy to find in a perfect location - plenty of parking. Our room was spacious & cool with a ceiling fan and a terrace with table & chairs. Plenty of tea & coffee & a fabulous NZ style breakfast with lots of choice & a huge pot of tea ❤️ Tim & Mary were fabulous hosts - welcoming, professional with lots of tips for the local area - esp helpful when it rained. We loved staying here & would also strongly recommend the Hare & Copper for dinner ❤️

beautiful B&B run by a gracious and charming couple. the house is comfortable, well appointed with lovely guest rooms. on-suite bathroom with lots of shelf space for toiletries. very comfortable bed! wine and hors d’oeuvres served in the living room late afternoon gave us a chance to chat and meet other guests. breakfast was delicious including a parfait to die for! The location was perfect for getting to Turangi sights and activities. We highly recommend this outstanding property.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Breakfast was excellent. Associated with the Hare and Copper, which is an amazing restaurant, in our opinion. Hosts were very friendly, with a little guidebook to attractions in the area. They also help with advice and bookings for local activities. One of the best places we've ever stayed.

It might have been nice to use the hot tub later.

Very comfortable and such attention to detail by the owners. They were also very helpful in guiding us on what to do and what to see in the area and after following their advice we had an amazing day - they were spot on! Breakfast was also lovely and such a nice ambience around the entire property. Thank you!

Nothing not to like!

Delightful bed and breakfast. The hosts, Tim and Mary, were engaging and friendly. Breakfast choices were varied and the homemade pizza menu was a welcome touch after a long drive when we arrived. I wished that we could have stayed longer and I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to explore the Lake Taupō area. The one thing we learned on our drive up and down both islands is to base yourself somewhere for a few days and travel out each day - this is ideal for that!

Just perfect for us!

Tim and Mary were amazing. Made us feel right at home from the first day. They gave us some travel advice and maps, which was good as we had not planned for all our days in the area. Breakfast each morning was beautiful and delicious. Wonderful host, look forward to visiting again

Everything. The quality was outstanding in every respect. Very attractive and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful hosts. I recommend taking a walk alongside the nearby river to a lookout point. Having stayed in many B&Bs, this is first time I'm giving 10/10.

I would like to write something here, jst to avoid giving the impression that I was paid to give a positive review - but there was simply nothing that was not excellent.

We spent one night at Olive Rabbit and wished we could have stayed longer. Mary & Tim are so welcoming and friendly. When we arrived after a long hike up in Tongariro National Park they kindly arranged the jacuzzi for us and helped us get a dinner reservation, making us feel just at home. The rooms are nice and big plus the breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip to NZ! We cannot recommend this place enough and we can’t wait to go back!
