We loved our stay. The included breakfast was great! It was across the road at their restaurant where they served beautiful pastries and coffee, where you can sit on the balcony overlooking the river. The location was amazing, on the street with all of the restaurants and wine bars. We had a great time! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. What we would note is that there are a lot of stairs with no option of an elevator. It wasn't a problem for us, but important to know when booking as this may affect others.

We really enjoyed staying at this place,the host was amazing, very helpful, and fast responsive for any query or info you might need!The room was very clean and tidy and everything was of good quality(bedding, towels etc);the breakfast included with across the road bar where you could go and have your breakfast (a very rich and yummy one) with a view as well💙!the location is right in the historical centre of Amarante where you have everything you need (bars,shops,restaurants)and is 1h away from Porto,where you can reach easily by bus!I would highly recommend Covelo and many thanks Debora!

Everything was perfect! From the excellent communication to the friendly, professional, and efficient check-in to the comfortable accommodation. The room is beautifully designed, modern, and spotlessly clean. The road it is located on is charming and within walking distance of the attractions and many restaurants and shops, yet it is quiet enough for a restful night's sleep. A delicious breakfast is served across the road at the Lai Lai bakery, where you can enjoy a seat on the terrace overlooking the river. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved everything about Covelo!

very clean, bed very comfy, good coffee machine and nice outside area . the check good nice guy came to meet us

it was really cold even with heating on all the time. the climb up to top floor hard you must be fit. breakfast across the road was slow and we had to leave before we finished as we needed to be somewhere

Full information received beforehand about arrival. Met by family, given a hotel produced news letter, and map, 7 pages of info on sites, history, suggestions Inc restaurants. Room with balcony, beautiful use of space and angles, lovely decor. A fabulous spacious room. Breakfast included at bakery opposite on river terrace.

The breakfast was great and offered as part of the price at the lovely cafe opposite with a balcony over the river. The staff were lovely and the location really good, right in the centre of the old part of the town and just down from the wonderful bridge and cathedral. Would suggest it is about the best location to stay, absolutely in the heart of things and within easy walk (and a paddle and a pegalo ride) of the river. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in gloriously hot sunshine.

The only issue I would imagine for those perhaps staying during cooler months would be lack of any heating in the room, but as we stayed in temps over 30C this definitely wasn't an issue! Otherwise this is a fab place to stay

This was my second time staying at Covelo. It's a wonderful hotel. The staff are really helpful and friendly. I previously stayed in the heat of the summer so I was curious to experience Amarante and Covelo in February. During this wintertime stay, the room stayed warm, comfortable and cozy... It was just what we needed! Eating breakfast in the cafe across the road was a lovely start to the day. Amarante is a beautiful town and I can't wait to come back. And I would definitely stay at Covelo again!

Newly converted property in the heart of Amarante. The conversion has been done with good taste. The location puts you in the centre of all the activity with restaurants and patisseries at your doorstep. Breakfast is provided by the coffee shop directly opposite so you can sit and have breakfast with a beautiful river view. Amarante is one of our favourite towns in the heart of the Vinho Verde region.

Loved the design details of this boutique hotel, newly renovated and thoughtfully planned. Our room was cute and cosy but very comfortable. Debra who checked us in provided exceptional customer service, her English was excellent, super friendly and provided us with some great tips to eat, drink and do in the town. Complimentary water, coffee and breakfast very nice which you have across the road in a stunning cafe.

The property was very nicely located close to the heritage bridge and river. The room we had number 7 was very comfortable and cute. The room had a balcony with a view of the river and the old convent. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very enjoyable stay in Amarante. The breakfast was very nice and the staff at the restaurant where the breakfast was served were wonderful.

No lift in the building and room 7 was on the fourth floor.
