The Yearling Cabins is 18 miles from Downtown Gainesville. It is in a lovely area of Cross Creek. We took the backroads from Apopka. The staff was very welcoming and Robert showed us where everything was in the cabin. We ate supper at the Restaurant and it was delicious. Try the grouper, catfish and chowder. Ann was wonderful and even gave us a breakfast recommendation to the Flyer's Cafe in Citra for on our way home the next day. We had a lovely stay.

Wi-fi is spotty. Cabin #3 could use 1 extra mirror hanging on a wall or door, so when someone is using the one in the bathroom, someone would have another one to use while getting ready for the evening.

It's a nice little camping spot or you can step outside and go fishing without going anywhere.Got to see some pretty cool things like gators, weird looking ducks The cabins don't look much from the outside but when you walk in they're very nice

The cabins could look a little less ghetto on the outside, As far as the color that they painted the brick houses. I'd go more for a rustic look since they're in the country.

We go to The Yearling Resort every December as a getaway from the big city. The spacious and comfortable cabins are located on a river, great for sitting outdoors and relaxing by a fire on cool nights. The Yearling Restaurant is a real gem, with some amazing meals - try the Venison, it's delicious. The resort is close to the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings State Park, which is a beautiful place to visit. Highly recommended for a quiet, relaxing weekend.

Nothing at all!

It was quiet, rustic feel, private. Loved hearing the wildlife at night.

I would have like more information regarding what was in the Cabin. The bed was very high and I have a bad back. I found it almost impossible to get in the bed. I don’t think I could have stayed another night. The mattress was comfortable, just too high for me. Also I called the number of the website and asked if the Restaurant would be open and was told yes. It was disappointing to find out it was closed for the days we were there.

The location was perfect all around. Having the restaurant on the premises was a huge plus and excellent food as well. our goal was to experience Paynes Prairie State Park with the wild horses and roaming bison (which we did) but having the Park a short distance from our accommodations just tied it all together. I will return for another stay but will book for several nights. A 10 out of 10.

Location is amazing. We were up for some springs and some diving in the area. Great spot. Less than an hour from everything! Right on the Creek. Kayaked right from our front door. Staff is amazing and super friendly.

A bit pricey for the location and accommodation. I always say this though in Florida.

This location is always relaxing, between the nature and the historic significance and the polite nature of the staff. I always look forward to going back.

The relaxing cabin. The creek, listening to the peacocks, the food at the cafe which is always good highly recommend the red fish grilled, the fried green tomatoes are amazing. And like I mentioned above the absolute kindness hospitality of the staff.

Rustic small cabins right on Cross Creek. Small, but comfortable and clean. TV worked well. AC took a few minutes to cool the room but it was a really hot day. Allowed our small dog.

No directions for check in when we got there, but staff appeared right away and let us in.

We loved the location! Felt like "old Florida". .cabin was cute and clean. Grounds were clean and well kept. The creek is beautiful and hubby reeled in 10 bass in the first couple hours we were there! Yay! Everyone was very friendly and it was quiet at night. Felt safe. Convenient to have the restaurant/bar right there. Appreciate the pet friendly policy!

Bed was not super comfy for hubby. OK for me as I'm lighter. Cabin 5

The river. The Limpkin birds calling their beautiful calls over the river. I played my violin by the river and we had the best time!! Definitely going there again. Our favorite place and the restaurant was so cool and bought a book there for my Mother!! Toured Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings orange farm. Beautiful and incredible . We watched the air boats by her homestead!!

Nothing. Everything was great!!
