Great location. Lovely staff

Too many old people putting their towels on the pool chairs early in the morning and not using the chairs until later in the afternoon. They thought it was their right to hog pool chairs

Loved the pool, it was very warm though. The staff were very good. The beachfront location was spectacular.

The bed was super hard, but I like a soft bed. I felt as a solo traveller that it was not close enough to restaurants as I’m not sure I’d feel safe walking at night time. As the staff were not busy I felt that more attention should have been given to the people around the pool. No staff came near the pool.

Beautiful sea views from our room (ground floor deluxe) and all common areas. Easy walk to nearby restaurants and a small supermarket. Small beach in front, shared with local fishing boats, great for a dip- really clean, clear water. Spacious room with great air con. Lovely staff.

Not enough shade around the pool and beachfront. Not enough lounges. Breakfast fruit (a la carte not buffet) was stingy- fruit is so cheap in Bali- no reason for this.

Overall this hotel is amazing. I usually go to Nusa Lembongan for beautiful ocean views and clean water, but it's right here, just 90 minutes from Ubud! The town doesn't have much, so would not recommend for a long stay, but it's absolutely wonderful for a peaceful getaway. Pros: -Absolutely STUNNING views and grounds (every room is an ocean view) - Quiet, peaceful, gorgeous pool, lots of sun (even in rainy season) - Wonderful, friendly staff - Very clean rooms, each with a little patio and chairs - Literally steps to the ocean, and the beach is clean

Cons: - The restaurant food is just OK, and pricey, small portions - Towels in the room smell a little musty (it's hard to keep things dry in such a humid climate) - Staff start sweeping outside at 6am, so beware if you're a light sleeper - The men with snorkel boats will bug you all day long to book with them, which made me uncomfortable and disrupts the peaceful atmosphere because I felt sometimes I had to hide from them outside, but of course it's convenient if you do want to go snorkeling

The room was spectacular with wall-to-wall window and balcony beyond - overlooking the ocean, to watch the tides come in at morning, and the lights of the fishing boats going out at night. I was in a new, contemporary room - there are a few buildings - with high-end materials and luxurious bathroom. Breakfast is served in a covered dining room/patio alongside the garden and lawn, with the beach just outside a little gate. There's a lovely pool, and the ocean steps away for swimming although the coral beach is rough on the feet - I suggest water shoes. Breakfast included many delicious selections both Balinese and western, served by the sweetest staff. The owner has created a gracious, upscale, classy hotel with every attention to detail. Not much to do in town but I do recommend Vincent's jazz cafe - walking distance - for live music and good food in a beautifully designed setting.

Lovely small boutique-style hotel located on the beach. All rooms have an unobstructed view of the water which is great for sitting on the balcony watching the island ferries going by and the traditional fishermen launching their boats off the beach and going about their day. The fishermen will even take you to Blue Lagoon snorkelling if you wish. Our room was clean, a good size and the bed comfortable. We enjoyed spending time around the swimming pool. Hotel Genggong is in a quiet location at the end a long driveway about 10 minutes walk from the main street at the northern end of Candidasa.. The restaurant at the hotel is good if you wish to eat in but there are also plenty of other options nearby. All staff were friendly and helpful. We throughly enjoyed our 5-nights at Hotel Genggong and will return next time we visit Bali.

Condensation running down the wall in our room (but could be overcome by running the air-conditioning).

The view is amazing. We had a ground floor garden ocean view from our room. Walking distance to restaurants. Mineral water was supplied whenever you needed it in a glass bottle...less plastic waste. Indonesian breakfast yummy.

Constantly being annoyed by the boat people on the beach, wanting to take us snorkelling. [p/s don't go on a snorkelling trip if it has been raining ...you will see nothing and still have to pay!] The rooms are getting a bit tired. Shower quite mouldy. Restaurant prices very high. Airport to hotel by car [approx.65 kilometres] will take you over 2 1/2 hours.

We stayed in #21, a Royal double room with sea view in the first floor (1 flight of stairs). We were immediately taken by the beautiful view and initially thought the room was open to outside but also lovely and cool at the same time?? We quickly realised, the glass was just spotlessly clean! We LOVED the bed. It was the most comfortable of all 5 beds we slept in during our Bali trip. The air con seemed brand new, quiet and consistent. Hot water in abundance and pressure good. The bar fridge kept our drinks and beers icy cold. Another room bonus were international power points. The sun lounges were also comfortable and generous in size. Perfect for hanging by the lovely, clean pool. Breakfast was delicious. We preferred to purchase espresso coffee and it was great too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with a few sight seeing trips, dinners out with many food options and plenty of relaxing.

I feel the local taxi drivers are intimidating Gojek drivers. One Gojek took us sightseeing one-day and we arranged for him to pick us up the next, to drive us to Sanur but he cancelled at check out time without explanation. We booked another and he cancelled within a few minutes too. The third turned up, but was visibly scared when we had to drive past the taxi drivers and he had cash out ready to give them, just in case - we weren’t stopped, thankfully. Not a good look. It worried us too.
