This was a great place to stay to explore Chefchaouen for 2 days! The location was ideal, only a 5 minute walk to the medina / main square and with a corner shop only a few minutes walk away. The staff were all super friendly and generous, and communication was great in the lead up to our stay. Breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start each day - the food was yummy (particularly the almond butter, jam and mint tea!!) and they catered for veggie/vegan diets with no bother, which was greatly appreciated! The room was beautifully decorated and definitely gave a Moroccan feel, with lots of space and everything you need (including a fridge)

The only thing to comment on is that the beds are on the harder side (I wasn’t bothered by this but my friend found it a little uncomfortable but fine for 2 nights!)

This place is in an excellent location—just far enough from the busy area to be peaceful, yet still within easy walking distance. The room was very spacious and clean. While it's not modern, it's a well-kept original old building full of charm. The staff were lovely—always smiling and great to chat with. We had to extend our stay by one more night due to our son's tummy sickness, and the manager kindly moved us to another available room right away. Highly recommend this little gem!

Beautifully designed, relaxing atmosphere and very clean. In a quiet area, no noise from the streets. Staff: welcoming and helpful. Nice thick warm duvet and blankets (useful since there is no heating in the room). Gorgeous top terrace views across the town and of the mountains. We also had dinner one evening here, it was really tasty and cooked by the hosts (a choice of meat or vegetarian tagine) and bessara (split pea soup). Tasty breakfast of omelette, flatbread, strawberry jam, sweet tahini and soft cheese. A choice of tea or coffee and orange nectar. Good wifi both downstairs in the room and on the terrace.

Shower head leaked everywhere in the small bathroom/toilet. It was also difficult to set the temperature right (either scolding hot, or lukewarm). The pillow was very hard, it gave me a bad neck every morning.

staying at Casa blue star exceeded my expectations. I had been traveling for a few months throughout Europe and going to Chefchaouen and my time at Casa Blue star was my absolute favorite part of my journeys. I traveled there with a girlfriend, and many people had advised us to be mindful while traveling through Morocco. We felt absolutely at home and completely safe in the Loving town of Chefchaouen and Casa Bluestar is a huge reasons for that. They became family over our time there, going above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and making us feel at home. Showing us local spots and teaching us about their culture and having meaningful late night chats… Our time there was exceptional. The hotel itself is so beautiful and the price is more than fair, we ended up extending our stay there and found it hard to leave. We will definitely be back and be bringing our friends from Hawaii! I wish I could’ve stayed longer

Loved every minute of our stay here and felt like one of the family!! The location is simply perfect, away from the more popular streets. We enjoyed our breakfast in the sunshine & were offered an early meal the day we needed to travel. The room was FAR bigger than I had imaged!

I feel like the water temperature could become an issue in the cooler months, as it never got quite as hot as we needed. But perhaps this will be addressed in the month when you really need it. Wasn't a problem for our stay in September. Also keep in mind there is a local garden/farm next door, so expect to be awoken by the chickens!

This was the best guest house I have been in Morocco. All the staff is amazing, helpful, at ease and looks after you. Haytam is the best receptionist, great smiley guy. The cleaning and cooking staff are very kind and friendly. The place is super clean everywhere and kept clean all the time. The terrace is of course a big asset, would have spent there a whole month, well decorated, peaceful, with outstanding view and comfy chairs and sofas. Breakfast is very good, and varied compared to the standard I had elsewere in Morocco and provides also salty options. Other Meals are possible and are delicious too. Beyond any expectations. Rooms are way better in the reality compared to the pictures. Nicely decorated and wide.

I would provide more shampoo:) but I have long hair

Beautiful and convenient area of town, super close to exciting attractions (spanish mosque), stunning rooftop view, delicious breakfast and wonderful, helpful staff!

Bathroom was totally functional and clean but we would have loved a curtain or something to block off the shower (though this is typical of Morocco in our experience, maybe not fair to assign to this location). We were also there in December and it was quite cold in our room in the evenings - something that i’m sure is a perk if visiting in other seasons!

The rooms are all beautiful and the decor is wonderful. The beds are extremely comfortable and we had a really good night’s sleep both nights. The younger staff were really welcoming, helpful and accommodating.

The gentleman who served us breakfast was quote argumentative with us when we asked him a question about the food. We also asked him very kindly if he could cook our eggs a bit more and he seemed to take offence to it, when it was simply a preference.

The size of the room was plenty spacious. We loved the separation between bedroom and living area. The beds were very comfortable and although it was cold outside, the bedding kept us warm at night. The location itself was in the heart of the medina, but tucked away in a quieter alley which made sleeping at night peaceful. The rooftop views and delicious breakfast were my favorite part about Casa Blue Star. My partner and I watched the sunrise from up there and enjoyed a lovely homemade breakfast of goat cheese, crepes, bread, different types of jams, coffee, and mint tea. Everyone was so incredibly hospitable- we were not ready to leave after spending two nights at Casa Blue Star.

No complaints! Just be aware that there are a lot of stairs so unless you are staying on the first floor, you will need to navigate stairs. We didn't mind it at all and enjoyed the exercise!

The accomodation was so beautiful! It felt like a step away from staying in modernised hotels. And yet here we still got luxury with culture and heritage. The staff were super helpful and friendly and accommodating with the children. Pros were the decor, the size and comfort of the beds, the terrace which was accessible whenever we wanted, the staff addressing and managing our queries and needs. The breakfast was great too!

Nothing major but maybe the accessibility. You're looking at walking steep steps and narrow alleyways and paths to get up and down. So bare that in mind if you have children or physical limitations. It would be helpful to have a lamp. Our room didn't have one so when it got dark by sunset and the kids were asleep we had to put the bathroom light on to see the whole room and be able to move around and even then it was dark. We had a fridge but It would be nice to have a kettle but I found in a few Moroccan hotels it's not common to find a tea station in their hotels. We were always accommodated whenever we needed hot water by the staff in the terrace restaurant so it wasn't a big issue.
