Breathtaking place in Chefchaouen! I’m so glad I chose to stay here—it was truly a gem. Tucked away on a quiet street, you’re welcomed by amazing hosts who go out of their way to care for their guests. The room was perfect, with a stunning view and sunrise. The rooftop terrace is a special spot, offering incredible views and the perfect place to enjoy a tea or the thoughtfully prepared, delicious breakfast. The location is also ideal—close to the medina, the path to the viewpoint, and restaurants along the stream. The hosts were incredibly kind, helping me arrange my ride to the airport and making sure I had everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!☺️

The medina and whole Chefchaouene is a gem, and this riad made our experience here incredible. It is very uniquely decorated and we got a very nice and cozy room (like in a mountain chalet). Breakfast was outstanding, fresh and well prepared. Staff was friendly and welcoming, wifi worked, everything looks modern and there is also a TV with Netflix and other apps. Last, but not least, price is very competitive and good!

The water pressure in the shower was not very good, and it took ages (literally, 4/5 minutes) for the water to get warm. Also, some people may find the room we chose a bit small (however, we really liked it because of its character and coziness). Similarly, we loved the sound of the water stream nearby, so peaceful and comforting; however, some people may find it a bit annoying.

Parking spot was not good. We arrived and the parking boys were already annoying us from the beginning. We left the car two days on the parking and somebody hit our car, but the parkingboy that charged us money tried to convince us that the scratches were already there. If you say that there is a parking at the facility, this should be at least be better organised.

Perched at the side of the river, with the top terrace looking over the adjacent hills, the Dar Elrio is a peaceful retreat. Every morning, we were served a beautiful breakfast with eggs cooked to order, fruit, bread boards, yogurt, etc. All of the staff were warm and exceedingly helpful. We felt very well taken care of, whether it was helping with luggage, laundry, recommendations, getting soup for us when we decided to eat in, etc.

Chefchaouen is all hills, be ready to climb up and down the stairs of the Dar just like the up and down of the town.

My stay at Dar Elrio was nothing short of amazing! The location is perfect, offering stunning views and easy access to everything Chefchaouen has to offer. However, what truly stood out was the incredible hospitality of the hotel team, especially Yasen. From the moment we arrived, Yasen went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He was attentive, welcoming, and full of great recommendations that made our stay even more memorable. The room was comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated in a traditional style. Breakfast on the terrace was a delightful experience, with fresh local ingredients and a lovely view of the city. The entire team made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. If you’re visiting Chefchaouen, I highly recommend Dar Elrio. The service, especially from Yasen, made us feel like we were visiting friends rather than just staying at a hotel. We will definitely be back.

A very cool boutique riad style property with a great roof top area with views across to the Spanish mosque and surrounding mountains. Small but comfortable rooms with everything you need for a great stay, and nice lounge area to read or sip mint tea. We had Mountain view rooms, my son’s room had a mezzanine bedroom which looked straight out onto the mountain with the bathroom underneath which he thought was the coolest room ever! The location is perfect, situated right next to the medina but outside the walls and everything was in walking distance. Our hosts were great, welcoming and charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Chefchaouen is a hill town so expect to walk and expect steps up and down the riad is the same built over 4 floors.

Dar El Rio was a phenomenal stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond in every way - from helping out with the luggage and parking to offering to bring tea to the room, to making accommodations for us to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. Every single staff member we interacted with was super kind and friendly. The views from the rooftop (where breakfast is served) are stunning - you get a great view of both the city and the mountains, as well as the Spanish mosque. The property is conveniently located just a short walk to the Medina, Kasbah, and if you want to hike up to the Spanish mosque for sunset it's a short walk as well. We were really blown away by how lovely this property and the staff were. It definitely exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chefchaouen!

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk to the town center and a convenient walk to the sunset viewing spots. We were upgraded to a better room, which was excellent and very clean! The hotel also has a rooftop terrace where you can sit down to read or have breakfast. Everyone at the hotel was great, especially Muhammad, who is very reliable. He always greeted us warmly and helped solve any problems we had. With Muhammad's help, we were able to park our car in a nearby parking lot at a reasonable price, and the parking lot owner was very responsible, even covering the windshield!

🩵💙🩵💙Location ! Location ! Decor beautiful! I book the cabin room ! I knew was small , romantic! We have a loft bed with an amazing view of the Mountains! The huge window had an electric outside shade ! Si you closed and open next were you sleep 💤, I love fancy👛 ,, and special places ,, this place was everything I dream in Chefchaouene,,, blue ! Blue ! 💙🩵💙🩵🩵, Blue , the terrace breathtaking view ! Great breakfast! We stay one night and hike the waterfalls near there ! Parking easy ! Just make sure you mention to reserve , we actually park out side safe safe even have a suit case in the vehicle, np 😉, super safe , leaving the car outside . Also very clean bed and bathroom! Super clean ! Small works 🩵💙🩵

What can i say, this was our favourite stay in Moroccoo over two weeks, we would stay there again if we go back. first of all the staff were so welcoming, Ali was an amazing host and within ten minutes of arriving in our fabulous room overlooking the river we got upgraded to the suite room for free because it was available and no bookings this was such a lovely gesture. The balcony was amazing overlooking a stream which is so soothing and relaxing. breakfast was the best we had in all of the six riads we had stayed in, really good....loved the location too, you get drinks at any time of the day and the other staff member that served us breakfast sorry i forget your name was so nice and helpful too. chefchaouen was lovely we had just three nights which was enough for our travels but would also go back and relax for longer next time. definitely go for a day trip to the d'akchour, get a shared taxi from beside the bus station it costs two euro fifty each person so 25 dirham per head if there's 6 people. ohh and definitely eat at bilmos on the square, this was our best food in two weeks travelling.
