The Mill House was an excellent stay, literally an old mill house, converted into a quaint, quirky (in the nicest possible way!) pub, with fantastic accommodation, great food and awesome staff! It was exactly what we were looking for! In a wonderfully rustic setting with ancient walls (if only they could talk!), old stairs leading to delightful ensuite bedrooms and a fantastic ambience in the bar and restaurant. You speak to the Staff and they are all happy doing what they are doing, and Jo runs a tight but fun ship! On the doorstep of breathtaking views and lots of history, the Mill House was the perfect base to explore. Looking forward to returning!!

Nothing, its old, and quirky and the heritage and history of the site is there for all to see, and enjoy. its not a five-star hotel, but doesn't pretend to be. It is what it is, and is proud of it, as it should be!

I booked this trip for my parents and would like to thank all the staff and the owners for looking after them so well. My parents could not have had nicer things to say, they were looked after incredibly well and all the staff made their stay exceptional (my dad's words). The breakfasts were fantastic and evening meals wonderful (mums words) I cannot thank you all enough for making their time with you so special. I will definitely be recommending The mill house to everyone I know. They also said that the bed was amazingly comfortable and they slept like logs every night. The staff were all incredibly knowledgeable about the area with great ideas for places to go. My mum suffered a little heatstroke after a day out the first day and all the staff made sure she was ok and had everything needed to feel better. Thank you all.

The only thing for the oldies that wasn't their fav thing were the thin steps up to the rooms but this did not impact their stay negatively in any way and they were very greatful to the host for carrying their bags up to their rooms and back down upon their departure.

An old mill with rooms, a pub, and a restaurant downstairs. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options, including vegan choices. All the staff were very friendly, with a special mention for Kim, who was a real pleasure to chat with at the end of the day. The room was very spacious, with an equally large bathroom.

Unfortunately, the WiFi seemed to be down only in our room. Being an old mill, the entire area doesn’t even have a standard cell phone signal, so for anything we had to go to the common areas. The bathroom and some parts of the room could use some updating and cleaning. Nothing major, but with a little attention, it could be perfect.

The step back in time Cornish charm , the beams and windows with sloping ceilings , loved the very powerful shower . Outside , stunning surrounded by the peaceful birdsong and babbling brook , and the food was out standing all the courses were of high standard , including their amazing Sunday roasts . We stayed for one night and felt very relaxed with such a warm welcome !

Our room was very small with en-suite , it was cosy with our small dog , fine for short stays .

The location was amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating always happy to have a chat and tell you about the great places to visit and walk. Room 6 has a lovely view. The shower is good, the TV is a good size and the room is serviced daily. One of us is vegan and they were happy to accommodate this. Breakfast is good and plenty of it.

Could have done with some drawers in the bedroom. Plus extra hooks in the bedroom and bathroom. Everything else was great.

Peaceful setting surrounded by trees. Easy parking Lovely breakfast Helpful friendly staff Quirky building Cheaper than most places to take our dog Dog friendly throughout all of hotel Bar & dining room looked really good, looking forward to returning and having dinner this time. Breakfast was pre ordered on arrival. Cookies on the room tea tray! Lovely warm shower View from bedroom Soft clean towels

Uncomfortable bed Room could have been cleaner (cobwebs on bedroom ceiling & bathroom quite dirty) - new owners said they haven’t upgraded rooms yet , but no excuse not cleaned properly. Footpaths & beach not close enough to safely walk to. No hand soap No plug in sink

I can’t understand some of the negative reviews. It’s an interesting and unique historic property. Fun to explore and the perfect place to stay for an introduction to traditional Cornwall. If you want a Holiday Inn atmosphere then this isn’t for you. Our room was fine and I saw another which was even better. Great staff and service. The breakfast was truly excellent. Has a pub too. Fascinating and memorable stay. I nearly didn’t book because of some reviews. What a mistake that would have been. Should be a 9/10 rating on Booking.com

We were surprised how this very old Inn had retained all its character. Beautifully set in a quiet wooded valley. Rooms quirky with character and very comfortable. The main bar is again a traditional style pub, made to feel very welcome. . a few "locals" called in but never boisterous or noisy, Bar staff, chilled and fun. breakfast and evening meals in the rear extension, light and roomy and excellent food. All the staff very welcoming. Short drive to Tintagel and Boscastle. Great choice for our stay

Comfortable room, dog friendly, lovely bar(although see comments below), food good. Lovely location.

EV charger not working, great that you’ve got one since we were last here but not much good if it doesn’t work. We had to drive to Tintagel to get the car charged. The large screen in the dining area, and the small one in the bar add nothing,in fact rather spoil the cosiness of the bar which was our favourite thing about the hotel. And we loved the old rickety pool table, the big new one you’ve got in the dining area looks incongruous.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Mill House Inn — it’s full of charm and atmosphere. I was fascinated to learn that the building was originally an 18th-century corn mill, which only adds to its unique character. The location is simply stunning, nestled among peaceful woodlands and perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful Cornish coastline. It’s just a scenic 40-minute walk to Tintagel Castle, making it a great base for adventure or relaxation. If I could give a rating higher than 10, I definitely would!
